My Brother, Why did you throw down root fert into an empty hole? 🤣🤣. I did a complete front yard reno this spring, I had a little wash out from the rain after I seeded, but the biggest issue I had where seed didn't grow was due to poor sprinkler coverage. Last weekend I dropped down more tall fescue seeds and replaced or adjusted the bad heads. It's been in the mid 90's all week and I have baby sprouts now popping up. My sprinkler only has 4 starts, so I manually run it when I wake up, then it runs at 10, 12, 2 and 4. When I come home around 6, I run it. It only runs for 4 minutes each zone, just enough to get it wet and stay moist till the next start time. Lawn domination takes effort, but you need to work on the basic's first. Your watering is way off. Good luck.

I wouldn't even think about seeding in the summer if this is cool season grass general rule of thumb is wait til labor day to seed

Don't forget to put mulch around your new boxwoods. The mulch will help to keep the moisture in the ground, especially during this hot summer. You'll need a good layer, maybe 5 bags? And keep it at least 2-3 inches away from the base of the plants.

hate to say it but it's not good news re: that new grass. At two weeks you should be seeing pretty close to where you want it. If there's rye and fescue in there, under proper conditions, that stuff would be begging for a cut by now. If I were trying to seed in the summer i'd be watering 5x/day. I'd throw down more seed and try again my man.

I've used that seed before. It will come in a lot darker than the grass you have. As everyone says, keep it moist, and you will have no problem sprouting it in warmer temps. The bigger problem, from my experience, is not letting the newly sprouted seeds dry up. The sprouts are way more sensitive than the seeds. Like @jabojr5171, I also soak my seed before putting it out, but you should do that with plain grass seed and not with the seed that has the blue moister control coating on it. Good video man. Stay on top of watering - as long as you don't let the area get dry (you literally want it damp constantly, even if that means 5x/day), it will grow. I've found straw blankets help a LOT with retaining water and keeping the sun off the seed, but that might be too much with the other stuff you put on it. curious how that stuff works for ya! Subscribed and ready for more!

It will grow, but because of the extreme temps, you will need to stay on top of the watering.

I'm planting grass right now too, St. Augustine in East Texas. Water twice a day, don't forget or go anywhere. I'm trying a new method for me, soaking my seeds for 24 hours before planting, trying go give their germanation a head start. Good luck.

I hope you can bring those boxwoods back to life! To make sure they're getting enough water, you'll want to water near the roots of the shrubs. Give them a good soaking from the bottom, not from the top of the plant.

I'm liking the videos! They're great for me to watch/ listen to when I need to get my day started or motivate myself to be productive. I like voice overs if you ever have something you wanted to talk about or give deeper insight into what you're experience is on a project. Or you could get a Bluetooth microphone ( the Rode Wireless ME is popular) which would allow you to talk further away from the camera. Otherwise I'm digging the intro and outro all around a solid start I see it going places as you continue to learn and improve 👍
