WHAT. A. WAKE UP. We were really, truly in a real live earthquake. You can hear some people's initial reactions- some thought someone was having a fit, others thought someone was shaking the bed. I'm sure me jumping of my bed in the beginning didn't help the girls downstairs!! Once we got over the shocks (!!!) of the morning, Himani taught us about earthquakes before we headed out to visit another girl's group and also work on a farm. With it being our last night in Chimborazo, we were surprised with a traditional band and a memorable performance. Can't forget about my warm and fuzzies before bed!
Myself and an INCREDIBLE team of Carleton students spent a week in Ecuador, participating in Community Service Learning through Me to We. Our week included tourism, experiential learning, and construction work. We laughed, we burned, we ate, we played, we dug and built. Most importantly, we made meaningful connections with each other and the community we visited.
