This is the story of a group of friends who frequently communicate online but only have one week each year to spend together, under the banner of Camp Omoget since 2022. The medieval week in Sweden provides a new experience for most of the members of Camp Omoget, and this is their journey seen through fresh, adventurous eyes.
What is the Medieval Week?
Medieval Week is a vibrant festival held in Visby, Gotland, every August, celebrating medieval history and culture. Since 1984, it has offered a rich blend of activities, including markets, lectures, historical reenactments, and themed dining, welcoming participants in medieval or modern attire.
The event honors the memory of historical battles like the 1361 Battle of Visby while blending historical accuracy with imaginative themes. Visitors explore ruins, museums, and parks, experiencing medieval life through recreations, storytelling, and fantasy. Drawing over 100,000 visits annually, the festival fosters a warm community spirit and emphasizes sustainability, inclusivity, and safety.
