Recently got two C175s....just starting working on one to keep... then other to sell....curious to learn the issues between the Series I and Series 2 Kohler engines? Love to hear any insights??

That’s when wheel horse had a real transmission and real beef chassis, etc. now if you want this quality, it’s called subcompact tractors at about $15,000.00+. I know, I just purchased a Kubota over New Holland(+$), and JD made by Yanmar in somewhere else in Japan and (+$).
Wish I had one but I want the old manual transmission I am done with automatic or hydraulic or hydrostatic transmissions in the long term they seem to go first, On good for mowing if you have hills or want to pull a cart or plow you need the manual transmission, Just my humble opinion
Looks like a 1957 lower end and a 1958 Cover possibly.Somebody changed something as far as I know in 1958 OMC went to a smaller midsection exhaust housing .Maybe some were sold that way not sure. Doesnt really matter to most I quess,LOL just an observation from a collector and outboard nut like me Glenn in New York................
got a 520HC with a kohler command pro 25 HP and have the dirt blade and wheel weights, putting 26'' 10ply trcator tires and will test it in this coming snow, excited
still plowing with my 145 auto :)

Nice Horse, I just got done myself plowing a big dirt pile with my 1960 suburban 400. These Wheel horses have tons of pushing power for there size.
Far superior to the junk they build today

This is why having a tractor with down pressure on the blade is really important... and this one doesn't have it. Runs great albeit way too fast.
Had a D-18, also a great machine.... pas it down if you have siblings. They don't make them like that anymore.
These little girls are tough as nails. Good tractors. Had three of thrm, 704, 854, and 702.

Yep! a 5-bolt lower unit indicates 1956 or 1957.
