She is the closest thing to God on earth. I don't understand why people sweep her under the rug these days. What Madonna did for gays during this time period NEVER gets acknowledged. I know gays "love" her, but the Truth or Dare movie was the first time millions of people saw gay people as PEOPLE, not caricatures of what they may have heard of. It was beautiful. I think their are many reasons why people dismiss her. For me personally, I miss Madonna sounding like Madonna. Her music was always a little different and fresh. Now she gets too many people working on her music with her and it just sounds like everything else. Mostly though, it's total ageist sexist bullshit. Madonna has always done what she wanted. She refuses to back down. Refuses to "act her age". Whatever that stupid shit even means. I enjoyed this movie. Loved all of those 80's comedy screwball pictures. Thought this was fun. Not sure why the critics thrashed it. No doubt because Madonna was in it. Madonna was horrid in Shanghai Surprise, Swept Away and Body of Evidence, but she was good in Who's That Girl, Dick Tracy, A League of Their Own and Evita.
