Prices are falling and these vans are pretty reasonable!

You could build a van but it would probably cost more. Skip the headaches and get into a new class b for the price of a used one!

What’s the difference between the Odyssey and the new SE?

What’s the difference between the Odyssey and the new SE?
I personally think these are ugly from the outside and with no slides look tight inside for the insane price even with the amazing quality and lifetime longevity.
Thanks for watching. And for the feedback.
No way does the diesel heater consume 1.8 gallons per hour - that would use 60% of your fuel tank over an 8 hour sleeping period. I would bet that was 1.8 gallons over the 16 hour test. I use mine overnight in Colorado winters a couple of times per week. I think I use about a gallon per night.
Yeah I read that wrong. 😑
While I really appreciate learning why Airstreams are so highly coveted and expensive, if I had the disposable income to buy an Airstream, I wouldn't spend it on an Airstream.
After watching a $200,000 RV brand new leak, like a net in the ocean and hear the manufacturer say they could fix it and not to worry about mold, electrical issues, or any kind of rot there is no way I would ever buy any of that crap. However as far as I know airstream still has a reputation of quality. I wouldn’t buy one of those either. I never really understood why anyone would spend a quarter million to a half million to ride around to some high priced RV parks so they can spend the weekend with the Beverly hillbillies or a bunch of tweakers trying to steal their tires while having to deal with their own waste. Did the math, you can go on 3-4 4star vacations a year leave the hotel room and never think about it again. I had my experience with camping with my parents. No thanks.
It’s not for everyone.
Yes sir you are completely right. I fear that after the boomers go away for the most part unless they can do something about their quality issues there won’t be much of a market for over priced defective vehicles. Pretty much like the hundred thousand dollar pick up trucks.
AWD?
No. Pleasure-Way doesn’t build on the AWD Sprinter. Well not yet anyway. The Ontour is built on the AWD Transit chassis though.
@ bummer! Thank you
These folks have a different opinion: ua-cam.com/video/wSvilUyvWPk/v-deo.html
I watched that video. There were a few legitimate concerns such as the rivets popping. That’s normal and we explain that to people. It’s a very easy fix. However, the vast majority of the issues seem to be things that they broke.
Airstream are not built for full-time living. It’s a travel trailer.
Also, they mentioned they didn’t have any kind of orientation when they bought it from the dealer. That is a huge no-no. I don’t know how they can continue to sell airstreams if they don’t do orientations.
165k for that one? Thats the real crime
Well I thought I knew everything about this vehicle but you showed me a few extra things. LOL.😉 Very thorough Jaye and it is a winner of an RV for many, including me. One question is the microwave a convection also? Enjoy your upcoming RV show in Calgary and thanks so much for showing it, very smooth delivery of this video. Cheers.
Hey Suzy! It’s not a convection, just a regular microwave. Glad you enjoyed the tour!
The question really is, 'why should you buy a modern airstream?' (or any modern RV or trailor given the poor build quality in recent years).
Value retention was a huge point for us. Sure we loved the iconic look and wanted a well built travel trailer that could last decades. But we also knew that a traditional travel trailer would be worth a quarter of its original price after 8 years (if that), which at that point would probably be mostly falling apart. One thing about interior of the airstream. A drawer fell out and broke apart while driving. It was just stapled together. I glued and screwed it back, but I would have expected a little better quality on the interior.
airstream dealer is hiring near me and I'm wondering if i should apply
Avion is real good as well, just like Winnebago. Airstream is a hallmark trailer. A full size truck like a Titan or Tundra will pull Airy just right. Try staying a few days at Cutty's near Johnston, IA. It is a good place to stay a few days. Prices are fair.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I love it❤
Our family had a 25’ land yacht when I was a kid and we traveled all over the USA in it, two parents and up to four teenagers crammed inside! Good times for sure!
It's a small-minded attempt to project an image a certain level of status . Like college kids affecting boarding school clothes and their parents buying used BMWs in the 1980s
no change the ice box
Same reason they buy a GMC Denali 2500 HD pickup truck (6ft bed), to pull there camper once a year.
Great for second home or relatives coming to live with you! I had an 85 Excella...loved it as a single guy
I do know about Thor products and specifically Airstream and I can tell you know just about everybody that owns a Thor product since 2022 has complained about the quality and how Thor does not honor their warranties.
my cost new was 99895 is that good, 20t w gen
USD or CAD?
@@outdoorjaye usd...and good details in your gen vs lithium discussion. i choose gen for exactly what you mention, confidence that it will be there no matter what.
@@outdoorjaye so is that a good price?
I would love Airstream to come up with a way to put slides on them. I dont like a center walkway where someone has to move out of the way while someone else tries to pass. Especially if they are cooking.
YOU DONT NID SURPRAZE NOONE NOBODY BUY OREDY FOR 3 YEARS ITS FAKE FROM FABRICATION BORKE ETC DE HAVE SHIET RECLAM NAEW AIRSTREM
The phrase “more money than common sense” is a strange one. If someone has so much money they can afford to buy things just because, doesn’t that indicate that they actually have lots of common sense?
I never in my wildest dreams imagined the kind and caring community I’d be joining. I bought my AS for quality. Then I started drinking the koolaid..
It is a great community, isn't it?
If I happen to be in a position to buy camper (and that would have to include a tow vehicle) it would be an Airstream.. I can just tell. Or one of those little rolling fiberglass Casita campers those are pretty cool. But definitely an Airstream, they are nice.
You are going to love it!
We bought a new Classic in the summer of 2020. Not our first RV. The quality was poor. Looked great but broke down on our very first trip out of state. Long story, short… it was at the dealership more than we ever got to use it. Sold it back to the dealer a year later. Constant problems. We probably got a lemon, but we were really disappointed as we’d planned to keep it a long time. Just our experience.
What the price?
That's why its the way OF PLEASURE ❤❤
They seem like they be really hot in the summer.
Seen a review of a new Airstream i was not impressed. Is it worth the money nope but the high society really loves them. At 54 im still in a tent dragging all my camping gear with my motorcycle. That is camping not at 100grand not counting the truck and insurance for the 2 units that would be over 200 grand. How can this be thought of as a good value seriously.
You can camp in a tent or an Airstream. Different strokes for different folks. Just go enjoy nature.
this has to be the best restroom ever
My wife and I purchased a 2025 Entegra Vision 29S with paint for $130,000, from Blue Compass out of NY. Canadian prices seam high.
It’s quality built. I want one as a permanent home but no idea where to put it to live.
I have a 2006 and have owned it since Feb 2013. I can attest to the design efficiency while towing. I have towed mine through a tropical storm with major gusts. There were semi trucks on the road with their trailers going down the road with their rears halfway in the left lane in that storm, the wind pressing against the box. The Airstream was easy to keep on track with the crosswinds.. I am not happy about the cost of maintenance or the specialized service they require.
Ok so Airstreams are the Vespas of campers.
Old airstreams were great the newer ones leak.
Really nice apart from the wildly outdated dark wood. Looks like something you would find in a van that is from the 80s.
In 2010 I lived in an airstream made in 1974,it was awesome
My triple-axle1995 Airstream 34' Excella 1000, sold new for $97,000, and now is retailed for $46,000 at a Dealer...and no, it's not for sale...
I have fantasized of having an Airstream since I was preteen. Now I'm 70 and I don't see that my dream will come to pass. I don't have the money to buy one, but if I could, I would most definately be an owner of an one.
Rent one.
Thor product...Thor quality.
And the passenger eats on the floor... great design !
I had a 30' queen bed AS. It was junk and full of failures and flaws. Just plain junk, leaked like a sieve, had an uneven floor and the skylights blew off. A real junk product. Yes, I bought it new from an AS dealer. And the dealer screwed up the delivery. A disaster from start to finish. I sure was happy to see it leave not attached to my truck.
They are worth it compared to all the others that are made as cheap as possible and fall a part the second you drive off the lot - there are thousands of U tub testimonies about that - airstream or nothing.
I've always thought the Airstream looked like something from the 1950's and 2050's at the same time. They are both nostalgic and futuristic. Definitely a timeless design!
I have watched a ton of videos saying the opposite of everything you are saying. Refurbishing an old airstream looks to be a complete nightmare.
You certainly should not refurbish an old airstream. A lot of people with skills do this and it’s not a backyard DIY project. If you have the proper skills then yeah it can be a lot of fun!
@@outdoorjayeagain, the opposite of what you are saying seems to be true. Not a lot of people refurbish these units and the ones that do get no enjoyment out of it. The worst stories revolve around shell detachment.
They are over priced but they are worth more than a regular trailer, what's insane is how much people are paying for scamp/boler style egg trailers . It blows my mind really, seen used ones for like 15000 no shower or toilet included ..
Hello how long please thanks
