Mack mp8 common rail. #6 spun the cam lobe for the injector! Apparently these new cams are really common to fail as now they are not a solid design but instead they are pressed on lobes. Garbage design in my opinion and also the new one from Mack is the same thing… so much for an updated version.

MP7
A “dd” would be a Detroit Diesel. The Mack MP7 and the Volvo D11 are the same. Just like the MP8 and the D13 are the same. Only one “d” when you’re referring to Volvo engines. Two is Detroit.

The unit I’m working on started leaking in the same exact area but due to corrosion. Did smell DEF when draining the coolant. Think DEF pump is leaking as well…
NO, ITS FUEL IN THE COOLING SYSTEM. THE OTHER WAY IS NOT POSSIBLE
It’s both actually! First is fuel in coolant system under running conditions then when truck is off it bleeds back and reverses when the pressure even out.
How is it not possible?

The flank drive are very nice. I bought a set of the USAG RBRT wrenches instead. They are just as good for $150 for 8-19mm and will hold when the flank drive slip. Misterworker sells them…
