This is a cover of a Tom Waits song. I am playing my Martin Custom 000 Cherry Hill (and some mandolin here and there).

You have a really nice, smooth voice
ty man
Yes… 00-15m
Martin guitar?
Which one has the best bass response?
the j45 - TV hands down.
I just picked up one of these 000 CH Martin guitars- really loving it! Thank you for sharing!
I am confused by the pick guard did you change it?
I really dug the om
Beautiful!❤
The abridged version. Very, very well done! 👏
Very good. Great arrangement!!
What is the neck profile that you prefer that you had made on the Martin? I have the less expensive Epiphone hummingbird inspired by Gibson. I like the shape of the neck which I believe is a D shape. BTW I like your video you cut straight to the chase , not a whole lot of talking which is what most people seem to do when they make a video nowadays. Cheers.
Nice version! Chorus added in there sounds great ! What equipment are you using?
D18. but I also like Gibsons…especially the recent j45 walnut natural with satin finish.
No comparison Between the martin and the Humminbbird the martin is way too ceap tinny sounding Hummingbird much better sounding Guitar
thanks all....
Well I stumbled in the darkness I'm lost and alone Though I said I'd go before us and show the way back home Is there a light up ahead I can't hold on very long Forgive me pretty baby but I always take the long way home Money's just something you throw off the back of a train Got a head full of lightening a hat full of rain And I know that I said I'd never do it again Oh well I love you sweet baby but I always take the long way home I put food on the table a roof over head But I'd trade it all tomorrow for the highway instead Watch your back if I should tell your love the only thing I ever known One thing for sure sweet baby I always take the long way home Though I love you baby more than the whole wide world You’re my woman babe you are my pearl So let's go out past the party lights where we can finally be alone Come with me and we can take the long way home Come with me, together we can always take the long way home Come with me, together we can always take the long way home
Nice work. Are you sure that’s a short scale? Looks like my E10SS (SS meaning slope shoulder).
very very beautiful, thanks for sharing this.
WOW I love the way you did this, excellent rendition. Great vocals and guitar.
I’m all in with the Martin.
Love the Martin 000 for comfort, but the Gibson sounded so full with a beautiful tone. I was impressed by the Taylor but could hear the pick across the strings and wondered if it had lighter gauge strings on it than the Gibson and if changing to heavier gauge strings the tone would be fuller??? All 3 are lovely guitars. Quick question, once upon a time you have a very nice J50 listed on reverb, I was on the fence about purchasing it and waited too long and listing ended. I believe the song you played to demo the tone of the J50 was Ghost of Tom Joad, which was a great cover. I have been subscribed to you since that. Do you still have the J50?
The Gibson, then the Taylor, and then the Martin. However, I think I would pick the Martin first if finger pickin’. But that Taylor kind of shocked me (aside from listening with my eyes), initially thought it was a Gibson with that guard! 😂 Nice playing!
Mighty fine, Sal.
Great song -thanks for sharing!
Wonderful!
wow thank you man!
That was a wonderful rendition. Thank you. I wish more people would see this. Way to go
The guitar sounds great as well as your playing.
A friend of mine has a d20. I have a d15M. Both are 2022-ish models. I played his d20 and decided to get one of those before I got the Martin. The d20 I got didn’t sound as good as his so I ordered the d15m. Fantastic neck and it sounds great. I still don’t think it sounds as good as my friend’s d20 but still a great acoustic. The tone in his d20 is huge but my d15m has a great tone of its own.
Nice playing my friend! nice voice!🎸
Really great cover. Thank you for showing me how to play this song!
This is a great cover man! 😎
I bought my D-18 in 1973. It had a neck reset and the bridge re-attached at the Martin factory in Nazareth, PA. in 2018. Nothing I’ve tried has the thump for bluegrass like my 51-year-old friend.
I love the HiFi sound of a Taylor. Thanks for contrasting these!
Man, the action on that Gibson looks like it's almost touching the frets lol.
That was awesome, good job !!!!!!!!
I'm a huge Gordon Lightfoot fan (I sing more than 50 of his songs). I'm always interested in other covers of his songs. You do a pretty good job here.
One has scalloped braces and one does not.
thanks fellas - this is C, A Minor, D Minor, F.... and for the bridge there is a B flat thrown in. This cover is kind of mimicking the outstanding cover by Sturgill Simpson
Thank you so much !
This randomly ended up in my recommended, and I absolutely love it! Please can you share the tab/chord progressions for this guitar piece?? thankyou very much. Amazing.
Very nice version, could you please share the chords progression please ?
Very Nice
Very cool! Always loved this song, good job, awesome cover!!
thank you man
Great stuff, Sal!
Thank you kindly!
Sal is the man.
Sácate los acorde viejo petero
Having a tough time deciding between these two. Is there one you like better and would recommend?
i still have the D15 :) It is still my favorite Martin dread - and even so over the pricier ones i have owned. If you do like/want more volume though, the Guild is louder than the Martin D15, and a little brighter. Its kind of the "I want an all mahogany guitar but i want it to sound more like a D18"
To clarify - I find the Martin a little warmer and sweeter, And it doesn't compete with my voice.
I own the D20. It’s my stage guitar and in a mix of two electrics, a bass, set of drums and sometimes 7 vocalists singing at the same time, it cuts through as it is the main rhythm ax in the mix. It’s a monster!! I love it and will never part with it. I have 5 other axes including a Gibson J45, and it would go before the Guild.
Nice playing.
D20 for me all day! Thanks for video.
Guild D♡20 ALL THE WAY AND SOME!!! MARTIN 00015 0R D15,DONT COMPARE,MY GUILD D20,WITH A COUPLE PREMIUM MODIFICATIONS,TO MY SPECIFICATIONS, IS,DEEP,, RICH,AND DELICIOUS.
