the psychology of complaining.
Переглядів 1,4 тис.Місяць тому
Okay, let’s talk complaining. It's like that old pair of sweatpants: comfortable, familiar, and sometimes a little too easy to slip into. We are all hardwired professionals when it comes to complaining and it is such a core human trait that we’ve been doing it since tribal times, a tradition that has stayed strong over the centuries as every week there seems to be some new thing that we on the ...
my artsy & productive desk setup (2024).

During the past half a decade of my life, I spent over 16 000 hours sitting at a desk, which is coincidentally how long it would take to walk across all of Africa… 7 different times. But instead of traversing a continent, I remained all the way down in South Africa focusing on my degree and career, getting distracted by hobbies and doing… whatever this is. However, in 2024 my life started chang...
why it (literally) pays to be happy.
Переглядів 2,4 тис.Місяць тому
Okay, pictures this: What if you could get paid to be happy? Well, according to some interesting research papers, that’s a world we’re already living in. In fact, when most of us think of money and success we often associate it with hard work and intelligence, but according to the numbers, IQ can only predict 25% of job successes, whereas 75% of job successes are actually predicted by optimism ...
the psychology of dating.

As anyone who has ever had their heart broken will tell you, dating is hard. Whether it be deserts full of dry texts, oceans filled with red flags, or just random turn offs - it can often seem impossible to find the right partner. But, I would argue that struggling with dating is normal and I would even go so far as to say that it’s not really your fault because no one ever teaches us how to da...
how New York City changes the way you think.

New York City is often quoted as a city of dreams with people flocking there to pursue their passions, but after getting a taste of it myself, I wanted to know what the long term pros and cons would be of being exposed to such big city living. Everyone’s always focused on the financial ramifications of moving to New York, but I wanted to explore the psychological costs and benefits as well, so ...

do nerds make more money?
Переглядів 6834 місяці тому
From online gamers to software developers to billionaire CEO's, nerds have become mainstream. Far from being the insult that it once was, being nerdy has become much more acceptable over the past two decades - but I wanted to dig even deeper and find out whether or not being a nerd can actually help you to be more successful amidst the hustle and bustle of modern life. HOW TO UNHAPPY: A Guide To Being Miserable (Short Film)

So… I know what you’re thinking. Happy people are annoying. During the past two decades, we’ve done an incredible job of making people un-happy. But in the past few years, people have been rediscovering the keys to happiness. And during the past 6 months, I got a bit lost and accidentally found myself being extremely happy, which is something I wouldn’t wish on anyone. So let's sit down, rewind...
how to buy happiness (on a budget).

At some point, you’ve probably heard the following phrase: You can’t buy happiness. Which is a sentiment that sounds like it should be true, but to be honest, I don’t think most of us actually agree with it. IG: arteri.heart
how your personality affects your success.

More often than not, the topic of personality tends to be seen as a bit of a pseudoscience - often finding itself surrounded by things like star signs, tarot cards and birth stones. But personality actually has a home in the world of modern science and can be a very strong predictor of success, including things like the the likelihood of you becoming rich, the quality of your friendships, and e...
feeling "eh" for no reason? Here’s why.
Переглядів 3126 місяців тому
Do you ever just feel kind of… “eh” As though, on the surface, life is pretty good and you should be feeling quite happy, but you’re just not. You might look around and search for reasons as to why you’re feeing this way, but there’s nothing that really stands out, nothing that would cause you to feel so down on an otherwise normal day. Symptoms might include a sense of emptiness, a lack of joy...
financial advice for mortals.

After centuries of analysis, data collection and research, everyone from millionaire CEO’s to human historians to ancient philosophers seem to agree on one thing, that money is weird. hey... if i may ask... where do you find music and is there a free way to get quality background scores like the ones you use?
I get the majority of my music from a place called Audiio. Would also really recommend Musicbed :)
thanks for this .... but im honestly finding it hard to start .....
Hey! Found your videos a few weeks ago and really enjoy your editing style. Hope everything is going well.
I appreciate that, glad you're enjoying the channel!
I really like this! I’m definitely gonna do this from now on!!!!
This is so cool and so underrated
Great video. Just subscribed and definitely going to check out your other videos.
Thanks, I hope you enjoy them! Welcome to the community :)
awesome video mate
Glad you enjoyed it!
literally LOVE the editing style omg
I try to put quite a bit of effort into it so I really appreciate that you enjoyed it!
this is a great idea to think back on your year and plan for the next. I'm definitely gonna try this
Nice editing.
I am used to not sharing my emotions. So I instead share my thoughts with my friend . We grew up reading self growth and development. Also this content was amazing.
I only ever complain about my own condition eg when im sick and have gotten tired of feeling like a wet sock or when life is shit Only 1 friend hates it but he complains more than me and all the time about stuff he actually can change while i complain about stuff that i have no or little control over Example, my body sucks at picking up vitamins in food so i take supplements but sometimes my doctor writes the prescription late so i got no money to pick up the medication with so i become sick for a while and then complain about it My friend however welds without welding gloves because "he feels the weld gun better" but then he complains that his hands hurt from small burns. He also skips lunch because he isn't hungry in the moment and then he complains about being hungry for the rest of the day until he gets time to eat food
man you're killing it with these videos! top notch quality! your channel is going to take off before you know it 🚀🔥
As a big fan of your craft and the aesthetic style of your overlays, this means so much, thank you 🔥
Nice setup! Question: which desk mat are you using?
Thanks! It was just a no-name brand mat I saw online once, I think if you type in “abstract desk mat” they usually pop up
Nice Video !! Actually grounded and reasonable on Price and Minimalism. Love it
I appreciate it!
NEW YORK IS MY WEEKEND PLAYGROUND I LOVE IT ❤
How come you're sticking to only one monitor? Just curious
Most of the time I’m only doing one thing at a time so I’d rather just have it all in the middle on one screen

I've been diagnosed with severe major depression but I've always noticed that my creativity and productivity are a lot better in the few times that depression isn't holding me back.
Really nice video! I have people I love who are really negative lately, It's not easy but I'll try harder to make them a bit more happy
This quality is too good for a video with just 800 views. And it's one video that really keeps your focus for a long time. Really good work!
this is criminally underrated. the algorithm will definitely pick this up. high quality stuff 🫡
Make something you wish existed. Love ya white boi 🗣️🙏
Good videos. Thanks for the effort lol
Awesome video. Hope algorithm supports it, like it did for my feed
WAIT WHAT!?!? You only have 200 views? I expected at least a million views for this! Keep going dude!
Bruh i thought the same😂
as a transplant from ohio to nyc, i’m at 5 years in the city and am planning to leave next year after having wanted to for quite a while. i miss touching grass. nice grass. and i’m not kidding. not all neighborhoods have access to greenery and yes, you could argue nice parks are a 30-40-50 minute train ride away, but if you’re f’ing depressed, that’s a tall task, especially when you don’t know what shit you’ll encounter on your way there. i miss not having to think about what i can grab to cover myself on my way to an event in order to reduce the likelihood of being sexually harassed. i hate the normalized inhumanity of a homeless person pleading to a train full of people knowingly ignoring them while staring at their phones. and i hate that i have come to engage in this behavior too, it weighs on my soul. the absolute polarities of qualities of lives lived here has become really defeating to face every day. this city has made me a harsher, more reactive person. i feel bad for the kids i work with that have never left the city and who have stepped foot in our major city parks maybe twice. they truly don’t know what it feels like to connect to the earth or that it is possible. yes, clearly i am a naturally dysphorically-inclined person. i have met lovely people here and experienced things that would be impossible elsewhere. there is light here but the never-ending stress definitely snuffs a lot of it out for me. i am definitely more “resilient” now. thanks for providing the perfect opportunity for me to vent 😅 i found a lot of your video to be true for me. i do think my brain chemistry has changed negatively by me living here lol. and what you said about things here being in extremes is true in my experience of course, all of everything would be a whole lot better and easier if were wealthy!
One thing that gets under my skin when it come to my goals/dreams is that I’m told “it’s just a hobby”, it’s damn near like telling me I’m not gonna achieve it
Man who visits nyc once thinks he knows how it impacts how you think. Bro really?
I'm absolutely loving your videos rn
Ok, your videos are surprisingly original and actually a bit motivating. Haven’t seen such content in years. Keep on going - u r doing great!
Needed this!
Assuming NYers are rude could not be more lazy. Don’t confuse directness with rudeness. If you want to make a NYer’s day, stand on a street corner with a map and look confused. Nothing makes them happier than helping you get somewhere.
Great vid
+ having hobbies just makes you a more interesting person
Rich content and high potential here, great work.
Did you make your own analysis from these common traits of successful people?
Type shit
this video is amazing, I absolutely love the editing style and the important information.
Relating to the common man works often.
bro looks and dresses like albert camus
Great video !! Good luck on your race
I wish I had hobbies or passions, I work so much and don't like where I live. I don't have a strong interest in anything and don't like my community.
although I had to allocate more time out of my day to achieve my addictive hobby of badminton (4 hours x3-4 times a week), but it is my motivation in doing daily tasks and not procrastinate + everytime I play my mind is free from the work that I have been doing for the past week
he makes and uploads this vid because: he never gives us up he never lets us down he never runs around and desert us he never makes us cry he never say goodbye he never tells a lie and hurt us (overall, this vid is good)
Idk I live in manhattan and I don’t feel like nyc “discourages living a chilled balanced life”. NYC lets me do what I want to the fullest. I love having hobbies - theatre, book club, ceramics, running in the park, eating different cuisines, etc. I could peruse them in other places but I feel like there would be fewer options plus I hate driving. NYC is EXPENSIVE but for me it’s worth it. We should all live in the places we want to live.
Wow, I needed to hear this.
Off topic but you remind me of Son Wukong
