A world of 4x4 videos
Sullivans & Spud Spur Tracks
A day trip out the back of Walhalla to check out these two tracks. We were lucky it was dry, because I doubt neither of these tracks would be doable in the wet.

Cape York 4x4 Aug 2012
Переглядів 3,2 тис.10 років тому
A trip to the iconic 4x4 destination, Cape York. The Prado had a fair bit of money spent on it prior to the trip, to make sure we would get back in one piece. It's a fantastic 4x4 trip up The Old Telegraph Track, with all its river crossings and wonderful sights. As a Victorian I must say that the 4WD section was easier than I had imagined, but we got stopped at Nolans Brook. An F250 with big s...
Warburton 4x4 Day Trip Feb 2014
Переглядів 93310 років тому
It's been years since we have been up the back of Warburton, so we initially set off for Cemetary Track and some others in Wesburn, but they were all locked. We the proceeded along Burns Road, with a couple of bog holes and then onto Summer Spur Track. Typical of the terrain around the area, the hills weren't too steep, but the tracks are just really slippery orange clay. A couple of winches an...

A day trip just out of Melbourne where the tracks exist in the natural eroded condition with no upkeep by the authorities. A great area with tracks of all types from easy to hardcore.
Frenchmans Spur Track - Big River
Переглядів 65111 років тому
Runs from Big River Road to Warburton-Woodspoint Road. Today the track was quite easy. A few climbs and descents but nothing too hard. We entered the trrack at Boundary Track and proceeded towards Woods Point. It's quite a long track and we were able to make good time as it had recently been bulldozed.
Noble Spur Track - Woodspoint
Переглядів 38811 років тому
Runs from the Comet Flat campground track at Woodspoint to the Matlock-Walhalla Road. It's a steady climp all the way up with a couple of steep pinches. The track had been recently bulldozed, but the loose top stuff washed off by rain. There were obly minor ruts, with the lower section of the track being orange clay and further up a bit of rock appeared. A great little track that would become q...
Boundary Track - Big River
Переглядів 54711 років тому
This track runs from Big River Road, winding its way to Frenchmans Spur Track. For most parts this track is easy, however ther is one very good climb, just after crossing Frenchmans Creek. It had recently been bulldozed and was a bit loose, but should the surface be wet it would be an extreme section of track, both up and down as there were no ruts. In places you can see where the old track wen...
Foley Track - Big River

Foley Track runs off Fireline No 2 and back down to the Big River Road. Today the track was easy, as the weather was mild and the track must have been bulldozed not too long ago
Fireline No 2 Track - Big River

A day trip out to the Big River area in Victoria. The morning was cold, but above the cloud it was much warmer. Fireline No 2 Track runs off the Big River Road and today it was quite easy with a couple of climbs on an almost dry track surface
4x4galore at PalmCreek - Cape York
Переглядів 30911 років тому
Finally the big trip arrived and after 4,000km of highway driving, it was a bit of a shock to see Palm Creek. We were the first to arrive this afternoon, however a couple of vehicles did pull up behind us. As the crowd gathered we set off down the very steep creek entry. What an adrenalin rush and the excitement of knowing we have just started the big trip.
4x4galore at FultonsTrack
Переглядів 7911 років тому
Had a great trip around Walhalla, the rain had started and we just had one more track to do before we reached the main road. Fultons Track, not to be confused with Fultons Creek Track, starts at Army Track with a couple of nice descents especially in the rain, then just after crossing the creek there is this great rock slab that has to be climbed. In the wet it was impossible, at the third atte...
4x4galore Prado Doing Rocky Track
Переглядів 55811 років тому
After having the new eaton E Locker installed it was time to try it out, and a great track to try is the hard part of Rockey Track in Toolangi, Victoria. There's heaps of loose rock and a number of rock ledges to catch the unwary. All it took was just a little throttle and good wheel placement. We walked the track first working out the best lines. Boy what a great drive, very little wheel spin,...

A fantastic day trip around our favourite area, Wallhall, Victoria, Australia. The tracks are fantastic and ever changing, no matter how often we come up here. Today we travel along Pheasant track, along Williamson Spur, then down Army Track to Store Point, along Morning Star Track, White Star Track and the highlight of the day, down White Star Mine Track to the old mine site. We then backtrack...

Great footage thanks for that, we are going to Sullivan's Track late September, might give it a miss if still wet.
What tracks this mate
Show some respect for other 4wd and motorcyclists and clear the logs because if you don't and I see you get stuck I won't help people like you out of trouble
+Fluffy Bunny If you had got further into the vid you would have heard that we did clear the bigger stuff of the track with our chainsaw and bare hands, a number of times. If we see you stuck in the bush, we will always stop and help.
Great driving guys
Love your vids. They have great potential. If possible please consider a better camera. HD if possible. These would be so much better with better detail quality. Cheers m8.
+consaka1 Appreciate your comments. Today we use HD cameras, but 7 years ago we weren't into HD here in Australia.
4x4galore oops. That is an old video isn't it? lol sorry I missed that. I'll be sure and check out some newer ones.
Not
Didn't you want to do Nolans ?
Yes, we definitely wanted to do it, but there had been 43 dead 4WD's pulled from Nolans (tow home jobs) so far that season and the vehicle in front of us was a brand new F250 with big wheels and suspension. He drowned and on speaking with others who came through later than us, it was an insurance tow job all the way home. So after traveling 4,000km to get there I wasn't about to risk a long walk home.
Thanks for the info. Good little spot cobaw
What was muirs and Mansfield tracks like. Were they all heavily rutted and require careful placement? Did you drive all of muirs from alcorn to Mansfield?
There were a lot of ruts in both tracks, but that was 12 months ago, so could be worse now.
What tyres are you running and what pressures
Hi, Using Goodyear Wrangler MTR Kevlar 265/75x16. As can be seen we travel pretty light, so on highway, 42lbs rear, 40lbs front. On the telegraph track we ran 30lbs rear and 28lbs front. The tyres went really well and at no stage did we contemplate lowering them further.
How long did the trip take you??
We did it in 22 days, Melbourne to Melbourne. We also stayed 1 day in Toowoomba and 2 days at Airley Beach on the return. Would really have liked those 3 days on the Cape, but Airley Beach is where my sister-in-law lives and she had organized an apartment for us.
Different type of rocks, smaller and pointier. I'm using Cyberlink Power Director now.
Was it as Rocky as stumpy? My mates love the footage you got. What video editing software do you use?
That was a pretty awesome front wheel lift. Best to go up Alcorns from Ridge Road. Some big rocks with vehicle scars all over them, a bit hard to get good lines in the wet. Appreciate the good comments, thanks.
I'm glad you got some good footage of my defender nearly tipping. What a coincidence. I subscribe to your channel. I'll share the link with my mates. That was pretty close. Mansfield, muir and alcorns look good. We couldn't find alcorns track that day. Another good track is soil pit track. You drove a perfect line down stumpy. Cheers mate Mick
awesome video, and to think less than an hour from CBD. I would love to join you on a trip one day, or better yet, have you join us on a club trip.
Wow!! 2 sec. Picture!
Great trip & love the tunes. Thanks for sharing
Great stuff guys. Love the gq Ute. Real weapon. Thanks for sharing
where abouts were the tracks you did on this video?. nth, east, sth?.
Great vid!
good vid :)
Cool vid. See ccr made it back hehe
Great bid mate. Bring out somemore!!
Looks a good track for the family day out! Oh, I see all the computer fourwheel drivers are online. Yep they can do anything behind a keyboard. Haha, noobs!
make more this is great
amazing video!!!!
Actually it makes more sense when you have been there. Just rode the same area on dirt bikes in a foot of snow 2011 QB weekend ! no winches needed for the Suzuki just guts and a throttle. well done !
personly what you show is great and shows how not to be so rough on ur 4x4
Top end of XL Track, Mill Track and Andersons Mill Track area. A whole lot of little used tracks in the area
nice vid what part of wombat did u go in and what road did u enter via?
creedence is awesome, but yeah can be overdone! hope u bring out some new vidz soon
@edstar81 Thanks for the feedback. Just love Credence, but guess it can be overdone.
great vid, good too hear some new music too :)
@MrSafetymeeting agreed
keep bringing out the great vids!
looks like alot of fun :)
lmao @ 4x4galore...u call ur self a responsible 4wder ur shit boxes dont even have a winch or a snorkel for ur river crossings,u didnt even demonstrate or advise the average 4wder that they should get out and check the river crossing or water holes before atempting to cross or go through.as most real 4wders know terrains change quite often and u could atleast give some basic advise about approach and depature angles as most peoples 4wd's arent the same hight. piss poor effort pal u failed!!!!
@justxdaniel If you look at the bottom left of the video you will see the track names. Sometimes tracks don't have a name, but usually from the tracks listed and a good Rooftop map you will be able to find them. It's been a while since we were there, so most of the tracks have probably changed. Have fun and let us know how you go.
not a bad track - some climbs & what not - just did a trip from Mansfield to Dargo - awesome tracks up there ;)
Hi erniethecudda, I guess our 4WDing is pretty tame compared to your 4WD competition rock crawling. But that's what's great about the 4x4 world. There is something for everyone.
@4x4galore Thanks mate - bit of a drive from WA, but if we ever take the 323 interstate (hooley dooley!!!) we'll be sure to give it a crack =P
alieninvasion47, the tracks are all named, so you're most welcome to go up there in your Mazda 323. As a responsible 4WDer I must suggest you take your recovery gear along, just in case.
Thanks for your comment Ezookiel, you're right about tracks not looking as steep as they really are. All our trips are designed for normal 4WD's, not competition trucks, so yes they may seem easy to someone with a beefed up 4x4 running 35" tyres. we name all the tracks, so people can jump into their vehicles and run the same tracks as described on the video.
It definitely LOOKS like they are pretty straight forward tracks with little of anything that is really noteworthy, but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt, because it is notoriously hard to convey steep and rough in photos and videos, so it MIGHT have been tougher going than it appears. But it's always a positive to see anyone out using a 4wd for what it was intended and giving it a go. Sharing it with others to encourage them to do the same can only be a good thing.
i think my girlfriend's mazda 323 would have driven all of those tracks... and will less "hooley dooleys" too!
LMAO...exactly!!!
wtf
the music is annoying but
Like I said before, we don't pretend be everything for everyone. But thanks for the comment.
