Southwest Boeing 737 MAX 8 Take Off!

So back in the days where the MAX series of aircraft were the new rage to airlines, I had a opportunity to catch a flight with Southwest on one departing from Fort Lauderdale intl Airport before the aircraft was grounded. Right before departure aboard the Disney Dream on a 3 night Bahamian cruise, the mandatory safety drill took place. I believe we were station S on the starboard side of the ship, but I may be wrong. Anyways, we also have the Wonders general alarm if you would like to take a listen, the two are very different.

no, but it sure does seem like it. it's actually the safety briefing that they do to ensure the guests know how to properly evacuate incase of an emergency. they play the general alarm to indicate to the guests what the emergency alarm should sound like to signal the requirement to evacuate.
The 6 short blast and the honk and 1 long honk at the end
Maybe they should make that the regular announcement chime…it sounds kinda nice

This chime is also heard on MNRR's M7s as you probably already know. Same thing with the MNRR M8s and LIRR M9s also.

I was able to fly on on one from Chicago Midway to Orlando right after the first MAX crash and before the 2nd. A lot of nervous passengers but I really enjoyed the flight.

@@LyndaWhite-ju1gj I've never flown through Houston but from the photos and videos I have seen of the terminal it looks very similar to Terminal 1 at FLL

NOT if passengers avoid them... 72% of passengers would pay more to avoid 737 Max, so if you have half a brain as an airline exec, you would not force them on customers (who will be forced to go elsewhere)

It was safe before in the right hands since it flew 140,000 hours. Then two third world airlines crashed two since their pilots could not identify a runaway horizontal trim issue. Boeings' failure was not to have redundancy to safe the MCAS when there was an AOA failure, silly Boeing assumed the pilots could scan the three sets of airdate they have and determine the primary system was malfunctioning. Note the media never brought the pilot forward that actually saved the Lion Air plane the day before when he was dead heading when the same failure occurred. Plus no one ever brought the people out that didn't ground the airplane when they couldn't prove the fix the issue but just signed it off as Could Not Duplicate!

@@wildmm9564 I think they're the Klaxon Syrex's. They are what are seen on the outside decks anyway

It’s got such an interesting alarm system. It sounds less like an industrial alarm.
Quentin Richards yea we all had to cover our ears for this part. They sounded it for evacuation practice and we had to go to our assigned stations on what our room keys said
I believe they have sounders insalled throughout the ship and the alarms could be separate from the pa system.
@@johndeerefan725 Yes, and that's the case with a lot of older ships. Most newer ships have tones that come through the PA system.
