They never last, Stage x 4l60e and they still fail. I've tested them all and even let the builder tune the trans to hold. Nope over 500whp(those are baby number) they go 1-2-N-N. Stock 4l80e with shift kit 1kwhp all day and lasts years.

The same trick can be used for power windows and getting the glass out. You can use an 18V battery as well. Just realize, don't do it for long, and the motion of seat or window will move quite fast. But certainly any 12 volt battery drill is the best.

That's exactly what ive said a hundred times an engine from the factory with even two or three hundred thousand miles on it that has been taken care of is not going to be any better if you take it all apart and put new bearings in it in fact possibly it will shorten its life span because you will get contaminated it somehow w oil form your fingers even on bearing surfaces leave what's not broken alone guys gm does a way better job than you can do in your garage trust me on that part .. new parts are not always better even brand name like clevite can have inconsistentsies in them and not only that the factory stuff is all broken in together and as long as the oil pressure is good send it even w boost or spray send it !!!!

Im binge watching due to bad weather here today in fla i like the way you think and the way you do things your one of the best ive seen as far as L..S swaps so far and the first one where you said leave the bottom end alone is golden why anyone would take something apart and change it when its in pristine condition just because it has a lot of miles on it is just a waste of money and ill almost guarantee that the factory stuff will outlast anything they do the robots at gm know the exact sequence and torque specs and gm uses the right bearings etc for a million miles if the oil amd pressure is good the o ring and reseal of the engine is exactly all it should ever need the crosshatch is still in the cylinders and bearings are in pristine condition in an engine w over two hundred thousand miles on it dont touch it dont even change the cam bearings the majic is in the factory stuff it will last a very long time even under heavy abuse and high rpms

It's not a surprise with all the butchered wiring that the distributor is at least a tooth off on the 350 that drives me nuts lol

I have an 03 5.3 envoy (same color too) and this brings inspiration. So far it only has 20" GMC snowflake replicas, and Flowmaster Delta 50 to dual exhaust in the rear (typical truck setup). Wanna slam her and then work on the drivetrain for more power.
