Story
Years have passed since you stopped Hell’s invasion of Earth. Quarantined for humanity’s safety, the UAC research facilities on Mars were abandoned and forgotten...until now. A signal from a degraded satellite suggests a single entity remains, and it has the power to resurrect the demons. As the only surviving marine who fought Hell’s forces, you are sent on a lone crusade to hunt down the Mother of Demons and stop a renewed demonic invasion.

now I've been having an issue where it won't launch from Epic Games due to an error (ERROR_DEVICE_LOST) but I've found that just opening Doom via the game folder (C:\Program Files\Epic Games\DOOM64) and it usually works

Man, all I can guess is that it maybe saw you through the window at 0:17 or up on the balcony at 0:26. Of all the deaths I have seen this was clearly the most random.
I'm pretty sure that those screeches are from the alien fighting the people downstairs, unless you mean I was visible to it at those times, but I think that It just so happen to spot or hear me as it was coming up the stairs, either due to there being another person it was after or just went back to patrolling the area.

I've seen this game being played by other people and, from what I understand, the win and lose endings end in the same way because your character knows the amount of buildings they destroyed with people in them just to save the ones in their own town to save it, even if you try your best or worst, they know the lifes that have been finished in this screwed up Battleship game

Why is there no commentary
I don't want to start doing commentary until I have a decent microphone, for I fear that the shitty audio would negatively impact the performance of my videos (even though they aren't doing too well), and plus I don't want my first impressions on youtube to be "a dumb child with a shitty mic playing videogames". Though I will most likely start to do commentary soon.
