Kids who can calculate large numbers using imaginary abacus, are not necessarily great mathematicians. Born talent plays a big role when doing tasks in a constrained environment (like time bounded coding sessions). Yes, working more and more is key towards being better, however there are limits that we reach and they are visible against people that are born with certain characteristics that make them better for this task.
