EB2[024]: Another Year in Cold War Clunkers
We celebrate another year with the squadron, in good old vintage style! There's nothing like keeping old birds up in the air, as much as it pains the lead mechanics. Here's to yet another year of surprises and fun missions!
We fly Cold War and World War 2 aircraft in a modern context, trying to punch above our weight using unorthodox tactics. We also fly sorties themed around real-world tactics, like the Iraqi "Giraffe" manoeuvre and Soviet strike tactics from the war in Afghanistan.
If this sounds like a fun concept, and you have DCS World and the Syria map, come join us at the link below!

Songs used in order of appearance:
Richard Frank and His Orchestra: Midnight Rose, 1969
Vadim Lyudvikovsky Orchestra: Holidays, 1967
Horst Jankowski: Am I The Same Girl (Soulful Strut), 1969

Fresh from the heist of 30 gold bars from the Sierra Madre vault, I got a quest from Camp Forlorn Hope to collect as many Legionary ears as I could. Needless to say, I knew right where to find them. (After blazing through Nelson, Cottonwood Cove, the entire Fort plus all the Praetorian Guards and Caesar himself, there were only four Legionary Ears between them all! I got tricked into TPK-ing Ca...

DCS Mirage F1 16mm Training Film: Introduction

Kicking off a fictional training and instructional film series on the Mirage F1, here is this teaser! Next up: basic aircraft systems and an in-depth look at the HUD! P.S.- tragically there are no Avro Shackletons in-game, so the B-17 had to do.

It was a blast making this video, which takes a lot of cues and styling from 1960s Pathe Film documentaries and the Look at Life series. It's definitely not meant to be completely historically accurate, but I hope it gives a good account of the Mirage F1! (The "antiship missiles" are unfortunately 80s-era Kh-29s from later Iraqi service) Music used, by order of appearance: Percy Faith, Estrada ...

Based on a video by u/Androidautobaht, here is what we all needed... the Metroid elevators but with Brinstar-themed tacky elevator music!
DCS AJS-37: The Case For The Viggen
Переглядів 9923 роки тому
This time the video's more of a pretend 80s documentary, complete with tacky-yet-catchy synth music and looking like it's been stored on a VHS left in the sun for 30 years. Songs used in order of appearance: Jean-Luc Ponty, Civilized Evil Katsumi Horii Project- I Believe Jean-Luc Ponty- Nostalgia Ace Combat 4 OST- Comona
DCS F-5E: The Case For The Tiger

In which I channel my inner used car salesman and basically stan for the F-5 for eight whole minutes under the guise of a faux 1970s trade advertisement. Songs used, by order of appearance: One Fine Morning, Augusto Martelli Manhattan Ice, Heinz Kiessling Lonely For The Road, Yuji Ohno
Spooky Cover- "Isn't It More Lupintic"
Переглядів 1373 роки тому
Heya! To have something fun for Halloween, I decided to perform a cover of Yuji Ohno's "Isn't It More Lupintic", since I quite like the song, and as a bonus I tried adding a little haunt to the solos (although I certainly can't promise they're any good!). Hope you have fun listening to it as I did making it.

The google drive link no longer works
It was apparently superceded by a new edition- hope this helps! drive.google.com/file/d/1m3TsRS1Er4C1kRfQgd42FQ682ArYSwmU/view
Ive been flying the f86 over syria and i start dive at 20000ft but when the bombs release they miss the target by like 100s of feet. Does target elevation count my target is like at 2482ft asl
@@thewrightstuff7971 elevation should play no role, as it relies on the radar for range information. The sole exception is the manual mode using the altimeter needles. My first thought is to note that the gyros require *very* precise control of any pitch and movement. The pipper has to be kept precisely over the target, and any twitch in the last few seconds can throw the bombs off target. It’s very difficult in practice (you can see that I miss the target towards the end of the video) but getting within a couple hundred feet is still an alright drop! Keep up the good work and may your bombs aim true!
@@Voiciunebattledogesse hmmm I give it a couple more tries could I be dropping to soon?
very nice shot composition, you have a good eye.
my pipper is always way too low. What am I doing wrong?
It may be that you have automatic seat adjustment turned off, or perhaps you’re approaching from too shallow a dive angle?
@@Voiciunebattledogesse I'm not sure, was going to play with it more today. The result was that, wherever I released from, it landed at a point further from where the pipper was when it dropped. As if it thought I had higher drag bombs. Maybe I was just going to fast. Still trying to read up
Good tutorial comrade. This may help RED players in ECW
Wow, i neber even noticed the release light before now - thank you the tutorial, and nice choice of music. Unfortunately the google drive link appears to be broken. Do you have an alternative link?
I really like the style of this presentation. Congratulations and keep going
I like the vibe of your film!
Thanks! I love old military training films and newsreels, and hope to make a full series in this style for the Mirage.
@@Voiciunebattledogesse ua-cam.com/video/eT9-ProfSC0/v-deo.htmlsi=pXb21gbQwqB3-Ywt Your vids mesh welll with these kind from The Nuclear Vault- mmmm mmm good old cold war stuff
Hey, I am working on a loft bombing video, is it okay if I link and reference/credit this video for people to learn about level bombing?
By all means! Thanks for asking first, and thanks for referencing the video
I love it! The voice over, music and visuals all sell this so well. I also like the inclusion of actual advice/airframe training. I would totally watch full DCS tutorials in this format, just like the training films of old!
Glad you like it! You’re on the right track, that’s what I’m working on for the next video!
Very cool! Nice work!
I like the not cringey over tactical-y military vibe here. You will have my continued support.
Thanks for making this. Really good simple explaination and methods to practice. Cheers!
I don't get the music???
A fun work of 1970s Soviet jazz, by Vagif Mustafazadeh! Figured it gave a nice ambience to the video. ua-cam.com/video/Dq-Ih1hH0l8/v-deo.htmlsi=Ri4wuUxdb2ZcqjA7
Thanks for this, best tutorial ive watched, still cant do it tho, bloody bombs dont release. But im not as steady as you, ive a lot to learn.
Link not working dude can you share this table
The same table in a newer version of the document: drive.google.com/file/d/1m3TsRS1Er4C1kRfQgd42FQ682ArYSwmU/view
Nice explanation. Thanks dude
Can't you hover bomb?
You can, but Hind is not really a hover kind of date.
Reminded me of an old ww-1 silent film war documentary.
Thank you so much this great video. I like it
Most creative! Bravo, we’ll done.
nice!
👍👍👍
1997 was the best le bourget
during your automatic release, what altitude and speed do you go to the target?
I personally begin the attack at 10,000 feet and fairly slow, to give adequate time to aim and stabilize. The bombing computer is pretty accommodating of different dive angles and airspeeds.
@@Voiciunebattledogesse apprieciate!!!!! the video and advice!
@@Voiciunebattledogesse i tried your technique for auto..great on ship targets but had hard time with bridges and small vehicles. at what distance to you start to turn into target for manual bombing?
@@Uploadvideoschannel I definitely have a hard time with vehicles too, it'll get you within a hundred or so feet but hitting a specific vehicle is up to chance. As for manual bombing, it's better to think of dive angle rather than a particular distance. You can get a rough estimate by putting the target off your wing when banking and checking the bank angle. Even then, it's unfortunately kind of an instinct to be learned.
Next time wait 22 sec. ;)
Now I want one.
fun!

Good work, great tutorial, thanks!
Great video! Appreciate how clearly everything was explained and the music was perfect for a leisurely day of bombing.

I am embarrassed to say our military lost a war against large birds
The vibes! Excellent concept and realization.
Ok -- I thought the first opening shots were real. It wasn't until the arrested landing did I see the difference. That deserves kudos right there fifteen seconds in. Well done.
Baltic Dragon needs to get on this campaign
8:50 "The Viggen rides the waves at *high* altitude" -- whoops! Great video, though! I agree with Joseph Orr that the video degradation is a notch too high, but overall, it's extremely well done. Looking forward to the next one!
This honestly feels pretty genuine, good job!
Yes quite well done, however even older VHS tapes from the 80's don't look THAT bad. I'd tone that "aging" down a bit. It was a serious detractor.
I was wondering if it went too far, will take that into account!
This is a work of art sir!
Wooow!!
Yo excellent!!! Where can i order 😉☝️
