The Director-General of Security Mike Burgess delivered his fourth Annual Threat Assessment on 21 February 2023 from ASIO headquarters at the Ben Chifley Building.

Australia’s general terrorism threat level is POSSIBLE. While Australia remains a potential terrorist target, there are fewer extremists with the intention to conduct an attack onshore.
