Ep. 181: Athletic Trainers in Physician Practice Society (ATPPS)-History and Mission
This is the first episode of a series featuring the Athletic Trainers in Physician Practice Society. In this first episode, we talk with current president Tim Nicolello, past president Michael Doyle and current vice president JJ Wetherington. They share the story of how ATPPS got started and how a couple of conversations continued to grow into what the organization has built today. It is an incredible story of finding a common mission, coming together to build the organization and the importance of listening to membership.
If you’re in this setting (which I am and will soon be a member) there is a ton of great information and resources both in person and throughout the year. If you want to attend their conference, it is coming up fast from February 20-22 in Louisville, KY.

Just found your channel and listened to several videos - really insightful! I would only just recommend not speaking so closely to the mic during the intro and outro because it sounds mumbled and muffled, making it really unpleasant to listen to

Franklin, thanks for listening and we're glad you got the insight you did out of it. We have done a follow up episode with Dr. Mercedes Himmons (Ep. 54) and Susan Taah (Ep. 56) if you wanted to hear from them a little bit more. We're hoping to get future follow ups with Mike, Krystal and Ryan. If you'd be interested in being on the podcast, we'd love to hear your story and get your insight. Thanks again for listening.

Loving the application of what I was taught as the Stoddard Strip (from talus across the apex of the calcaneus) that locks the ankle in place. With traditional tape, I tend to pull medial to lateral but it looks like with this product, you could do a neutral pull up both sides. I build this into just about every ankle taping these days but initially started its use with a troublesome gymnast who wouldn't tolerate heel locks as they restricted plantar flexion too much. I could see using Recoil on gymnasts especially but also tracksters who don't like much of anything on their feet. Richard is always a fountain of good ideas!
