Very true but it can be hard to quit. I have spent 14 years building a career where I make 200k+ a year working remotely and it's comfortable and secure. Problem is, I am miserable and unhappy and I wish they would just fire me. I have more than a year's salary saved up but I am afraid to leave and what if the grass is not greener on the other side? Also starting from scratch scares me. It's just very fear driven, afraid of losing it all and wasting my time.

Thank you for your story Adam! I really appreciate that! Man, you have been killing it growing your salary to 200k+ a year bro! I can tell you I was in the same position like you bro. Afraid what would wait on the other side. What’s great is that you have more than a years salary saved up bro. That gives you tremendous freedom. Is there some project, some hobby in your life that you could turn into a business or just start as a passion project? Think about it, get to work and see what happens if you pursue what you love man! And if only it lets you cope better with your day job. And one more thing: you can always return bro. Maybe not the same job in the same company, but change most often equals growth! 🤙🏻

@@vibezz_lifestyle Hey, thank you for the kind words and I appreciate your reply back. Indeed, it is the fear of uncertainty like you said. What is on the other side and what if it's not good? I think part of the problem is my job drains me so much of my time, energy, and emotions that my brain is friend by the end of the day. I don't have the bandwidth to do anything else, which is why I want to quit and make space for something else. You are right I can return but also I am almost 40 so I worry about gaps in my CV and ageism as well. But you are right, change = growth and I can stay stuck here complaining or do something different even if it's not the right answer.

Ah I feel you man! My previous 9-5 was sucking the soul out of my body like described in the video. That’s not how life is supposed to be or is it? You only have this one life bro. The great thing though is that you have so much money saved up! I don’t know how your life situation is, if you’re a dad like me or you are basically free to leave to anywhere you want anytime. If the latter is the case, why not take this money and move to a different country with much lower costs of living? You could live there for years, if you just watch your spending and don’t live above your means. I came to learn that you need very little to be happy. Most things that society makes us believe we need are utter bs. A roof above your head in a place with a nice climate and enough free time to spend with my daughter + maybe 2 nice vacations a year would be all I need to be absolutely happy. Food for thought.

@@vibezz_lifestyle I am 39 but I am single with no kids. I've tried living in a quieter country like Switzerland and made some good money there for a few years but then moved back to US because CH was just not my vibe. I will probably quit in a few months where I will hit 300k saved and then try to start something else and take a break from corporate. I am just afraid the grass is not always greener and don't want to "throw it all away". But you are right, we don't need as much as we think we do and that has allowed me to save more money since I only spend on tech like a new computer or phone.

This is how it is as creative people, we hate to be confined in routine and uninspiring environments but it usually down to us to make the change that needs to happen. Good luck with everything bro, we’re sure everything will work out for you 🙏
