Caffeine Powered Diversions
Canada
Приєднався 15 кві 2019
Caffeine powered diversions are the hobbies I enjoy, usually worked on at night after the kids go to sleep and with a cup of coffee close by. This included everything from electronics, home audio, remote control cars and airplanes, astronomy.....you get the idea.
I'm also an avid gardener so some of this channel i'll devote to a garden diary as i'm terrible at keeping notes about previous years crops.
The intent is to show the interesting and/or useful aspects regarding my hobbies.
Thanks for watching.

Always use a little new oil to wet the seal on new filters to help them seal and not tear on the dry surface.
Doesn’t even need to be new oil… can use old oil to lubricate the gasket. New or old is fine.
Nice to see Canadian gardening on UA-cam. It’s a bit challenging with our short growing season so hoping to see what you’re doing and maybe learn a few tricks of the trade.
They sure are getting big fast and the kids seem to really love them a lot 🥰
Nice looking garden and for sure more harvest will come 🙂
I have a Marshall Valvestate 8080 that kept doing the same thing. Then eventually I opened it up, turned it on and waited for the short to happen. I actually saw arcing over a part of the PCB that had a lot of burn marks from a previous owner. I cleaned the dark, burnt layer off the PCB and voila, the problem went away. I think I read in a comment somewhere that PCBs can become conductive due to heat over time. This was about two years ago and the amp is going strong.
Blitzortung is german and means Lightning Detection.
Nice work... I've been sitting on three kits for about 4 years. One for home in Texas, another for my brother in Oklahoma, and one for my brother-in-law in Brazil. I'm Concerned about the mounting on angle Iron and the proximity to what appears to be a metal building for the ferrite antennas. Probably best to get it mounted on horizontal plastic and set out away from metal at least 3 Meters.
Lot's of progress in your garden beds. Love seeing the kids helping out 🙂
New sub from NB, zone 5b. Wishing you a great growing season 🙂
Thank you for posting this.
Man I’m glad you made this series. Back when I got my b2330 in 2020 I could not find any info on it because it’s an obscure model in my opinion. Doing my 400hr now and I’m excited to watch all of these. Thanks!
I always date the filter with the date I changed it with magic marker. Good video. Thanks. Mt 2012 takes 80-90 oil in the front dif..
That’s amazing
Is it noisy?
Thanks for the detailed video. I have a 2021 LX2610 that is approaching 400 hours. I’ve done my own regularly scheduled maintenance to date but out of curiosity I just got a quote from my Kubota dealer for them to do the 400 hour service this spring or summer. In round numbers, $800 labor, $125 parts, and $125 pickup/return. Since the only major additional maintenance beyond what I’ve already done myself is to change the front axle fluid, I think I’ll save $925 and do this 400 hour maintenance myself. Thanks again!
Wish your video was around when I built mine...... Kind of a catch 22 with the receivers going into interference mode......wouldn't be bad if they cleared themselves after a time but sometimes they don't...... I've found that if my settings are too sensitive to make them show up on the map, then the receivers tend to freak out......... I have two of these running and I'm located right below yours in the upper most part of Wisconsin.... Thanks for the video......nice job..... Stations 2382 & 2334 stacked right on top of each other....
I'd be interested to see the amplifiers and antenna now after 3 years. I was thinking i'd like to get involved, however, there is already a red system in my home town, so i'm making my own devices, trying an arduino for starters, and i have some valves, ( known your end as vacuum tubes). In future, look into conformal coating, it's what the military use for devices which might not be used for years and won't be stored in laboratory conditions.
Wow! Great harvest you guys.
Keep up the good work guys, you did great
Still waiting for a part 3, man.
I hear that...
Great job by the kids! Looks like a really good harvest too.
Looks like a great harvest... good job!
He's doing great! Loved this video. It looks like your garden is thriving.
First time watching your video. Love your plants but your camera skill needs work. I got dizzy watching was not able to finish it
He needs some control as in manners in his harvesting his food...instead of drop his food down...and can't see things maybe take his sunglasses off...🤠🤠🤠
It's funny how the weather has been. I'm in eastern Ontario and everything has taken off in my garden. Already tomatoes growing and cucumbers. We have been harvesting romaine lettuce and kale for the last week. I can't get over the size of my romaine this year. I've never had ones so big and full. I have always grown onions by set. They never get very big. I am actually thinking of starting mine by seeds next year. What kind do you grow? Thank you for sharing with us. Happy that you finally got some much needed rain. I'm sure you will see a difference in your plants in a day or two from the rain.
Drought lol I’ll show you a drought come to Arizona😊
SA 42 degrees in summer 😂
Did you upgrade your camera?
Wishing you guys a great gardening season! Here in the Ottawa area our night time temperature forecast is still going to be a little low for my comfort this coming week so I'll wait till the last weekend of May to do most of my planting out.
Never had an issue with leggy tomatoes, just always buried them deep (in buckets) or sideways (in ground)
I've had good luck with Solo "beer cups" as cheap nursery pots. If you're bottom watering, you can burn a hole (outside!) with a lighter or use scissors to cut out a small edge. I use two cups: upper cup is guillotined in half into a lower cup. Then when it comes to planting, it separates with ease and don't need to coax the seedling out. Can also use big/small yoghurt containers. When I put two seeds per bigger cup, if both germinate, I'll slide an old credit/store card in the middle to keep the roots separate.
Did you ever nail down what the issue was?
Ya, what happened?
How are you liking the XMC-2 after the Nov 2022 firmware update?
Hello, thanks for this good video. I have the same problem en a performer 650 (the same but with only 2 power transistors). I have check all the components around for me but i'm not an expert. Now i don't know what to do. If you have a solution it would be very helpfull. Thanks
I can see who is going to have her own channel soon… Great job!
I'm currently trying to get a performer going and seem to have the exact same problems. After replacing all the pots, the main fuse blew and transistors q11 and q14 were hot. Strange thing is that the amp kind of worked before replacing the pots
I'll have to order the transistors to replace them. Were you able to get your amp working properly in the end?
My son bought one of theses and he loves it, I think he paid like 50 bucks for it, had to replace a few resistors, and re soldered all of the connections, now it just dies after a few minutes, so it's off-line for now.
I have the same amp with the same issue. Dies after a few minutes use. Had a shop look at it but they could not solve the problem.
Welcome back, I’m looking forward to your future gardening & tech videos. Thank you for your effort in creating interesting content. Bill GoulaisRiver
What was the outcome/fix of the Fender Performer 1000 (part III)?
I am upgrading from the MC-700 to the XMC-2 version 2 in Feb 2023.
I have to call shenanigans at ASR. They are topping fanboi's and seem to produce measurements and conclusions no one else does, and inconsistently. They promote more expensive gear that measures worse....They are NOT the bible of product quality and sound.
I really want to buy a tractor. Unfortunately in my country only have kubota b2320 with manual transmission not the hydrostatic. I can see this model is so reliable.
5:53 Are you sure about that? I could barely hear it as you turned the volume to full
Very good review. Just got the XMC-2 with the 3.1 update. Only hooked up to front three channels. Have to finish wiring up to my 9.2.6. So far no glitches.
I have followed you all season and not only have you had such an incredible harvest but you have managed to provide your children with a hands on education from planting seeds to enjoying the fruits of the harvest. It is evident that they respect nature and have grown to know what a positive relationship with nutritious food looks like and tastes like. That is a great achievement. I look forward to your videos this winter in your seed planting room!
What an AMAZING beet and jalapeño harvest! All your canning looks so delicious and incredible. You have done so much work this year and it equates to a true labour of love and lots of fun too with the children. I was particularly interested in how you were cooking your beets outside that saved the mess in the kitchen. What did you use to cook them?
Nice harvest, and great job preserving everything. Blessings to your family!
Wow great job with your garden, amazing yields!
I look forward to seeing your plans for taking out more grass & turning into garden. 20 lbs of cauliflower… wow!! And seeing the whole family involved in growing & harvesting and their excitement about it, this is so great to see!
Cauliflower is difficult for me too in Southeastern Ontario. Maybe it’s the variety you planted this year. I’ve never tried that variety but generally my broccoli does well but the caulis never form heads. Garden pH may also be a factor as many in the uk usually lime the soil prior to planting brassicas. Beautiful crop!!
