Building a custom frame, with mahogany inlay, and splines.
Using oak, and mahogany to build a custom frame for a Van Gogh souvenir. It's a very simple frame that looks fancy.

Three watch boxes, from three oak boards

I'm making three watch display boxes from three oak boards. I used patterned plywood and maple to fancy things up a bit. Hope you enjoy the video! #woodwork #woodworking #art #artwork #wood #maple #woodworkingart #woodworker #woodworking_projects #woodworkingprojects #woodart #woodartist #customwoodwork #customwoodworking #woodshoplife #woodshop #watch #watchbox #watchdisplay #luxurywatches #bo...
Building Panel Clamps from Unistrut (4 way pressure clamps).
Переглядів 5 тис.2 роки тому
Panel clamps are a great tool for any woodworker. In this video I build a set from unistrut and a panel clamp kit (also known as 4 way pressure clamps). These are the best way I've used to glue up perfectly flat panels. #woodwork #woodworking #wood #woodworkingart #woodworker #woodworking_projects #woodworkingprojects #woodart #woodartist #customwoodwork #customwoodworking #woodshoplife #woodshop
T-track install in my workbench
Переглядів 11 тис.2 роки тому
Installing a T-track to make my outfeed table a little more useful. I used pieces I had leftover from a previous project, so I didn't have much to work with. But, It was still completely worth it! #woodwork #woodworking #wood #woodworker #woodworking_projects #woodworkingprojects #customwoodwork #customwoodworking #woodshoplife #woodshop #t-track #workbench

Epoxy and Maple Chess Set
Переглядів 11 тис.2 роки тому
This is a video of my first attempt at an epoxy resin chess set. I used a deep poor epoxy, and a leftover piece of tiger maple. Not only is this my first attempt at a chess set, but it's also my first attempt at a UA-cam video. Let me know what you think. I can also add narration if anyone is interested. #woodwork #woodworking #art #artwork #wood #maple #woodworkingart #woodworker #woodworking_...
Kudos to you for not editing out your error with the clamp position. To err is human. ( Darn…..wish I’d have coined that one……) Good job on the tracks!
A great video! The colors this board is amazing! Any idea how this will hold up to a "hardwood" cutting board? Do you sell them?
The center of the board is end grain maple so it’s the same as any other hardwood cutting board. I made this one for fun, I’m a carpenter, but do some wood working for a hobby. This board I gave to my wife, and it’s been in a cabinet since then, never used. 🤷♂️
Nice nice but that’s pine now
AWESOME PRESENTATION 👏🏾!!!!!
💯👌⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🍺🍺 Masterpiece
I like this idea you made, very nice work. The video and all outstanding, thank you for sharing.
Surprised you didn't put a small light in to light your board and men up at night. Great craftsmanship
you have a link for the internal captured nuts and Black screws?
The plywood is definitely a great look, but I would be hard pressed using that for a cutting board. Mostly because the plywood is put together at the factory with glue that is not designed for this application. Was that considered when making this board?
Too many fingers for work with gloves on circular saw
I have never used plywood in cutting board. Is that a good idea?
I don't have maple that thick, but I I have some mahogany that thick. I will be back in a couple of hours.... Great Work.
Good luck!
Great work!
Hi. Can you tell quantity of resin needed for all white figures, all black figures and foto table?
I think I used about 32oz
That looks amazing. The colours, the style, everything. Very talented.
Thank you so much, I wish I had time to do more
I recently used some pieces of unistrut as clamping cawls, along with traditional clamps. But those pressure clamps look pretty slick - I think I'll have to try them out.
Just use the rockler type clamps and u have both with one setup. I got rid of my toggle clamps, too much changing for wood sizes.
You’re absolutely right, I made the toggles just because I had them. But ended up buying the rocker ones.
Yes, I had to change the height on the toggles all the time- great video. Just started woodworking, so trying out everyone’s “best” jigs!
Hi there Jonnie... how u doing? I have a question, did the wood move?🤔... awesome build bro, i want to use hardwood, with plywood stips in-between all the blocks... just wonding about this wood movement thingy everyone talks about... i hardly use hardwood. Mostly make plywood designs
This has been in my kitchen for almost a year now and it hasn’t moved at all.👍
Luxury 👍👏👏
can i have it?
I believe the audio book is " Minnie Mouse visits the helium Factory " Nice build. 👍
Haha, nailed it
🙌 *promosm*
do you think the 13/16" strut will work or is there a possibility of flex? they're both 12 gauge and i can't image there is too much clamping pressure with these but the other strut is a lot lighter.
also might allow for gluing up thicker boards
Yeah I think that would be fine. They are pretty rigid because of their shape. I used these because I had them laying around.
Was just faced with the question. While in the store hand tested the shorter stuff (would have liked to use it) but could flex it fairly easily. Get the big stuff
Beautiful!
Nice and great part but working with gloves at the table saw is a no go!
Can you offer a link for the kit?
Here you go….. www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B073QSF8JR?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
Thanks. I thought those might be the ones, but wasn’t clear they would work with unistrut.
Kit is not required. Many designs with many different materials used shown in the side panel >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> metal parts are Rockwell as "4 way clamps" Google search will tell you in seconds. You need everything just handed to you?
@JonnieWood is back at it!! This frame looks awesome. I can’t recommend him enough after the custom watch box I got from him. Top notch craftsmanship!
NICE
Stunning workmanship. Thanks for showing us.
Maybe I’m looking into this too much and without full knowledge of nuts and bolts and thread types… So if I’m reading this correctly the cone nuts are 1/4-10 in other words 1/4 inch hole with 10 thread count per square inch and The screws or bolts are 1/4-20 which makes it 20 threads per square inch Is this correct and if so does that pose a problem when screwing then in possibly stripping out the nut, bolt or both??? Sorry for long question
I'm not sure, they fit nicely, and have stayed tight since install? But your right, one says 10, and the other says 20.
basic public domain life knowledge and basic logic ability. no such thing as a 1/4 10. Tighten hard enough and any nut will strip out. Have you never even spun a nut on a bolt? Such no-knowledge of basic mechanics you would be a hazard in any shop or task involving hand tools let alone power tools. To make and use these devices where would one start to instruct you on basic mechanics and basic materials? In a YT comment section? What full knowledge of nuts and bolts? It's a nut and bolt and thread concept has been in use since Michelangelo and da Vinci times.
Came here for the 4 way clamps and stayed for the fine craftsmanship 💪💪💪
Much appreciated 🙏
The clamp champ
wow the most beautiful cutting board i have ever seen. good grief! it is perfectly gorgeous.
Thank you, I really appreciate it. 😁
👍👍👍
Thanks!
Beautiful craftsmanship! Was it tough to cut the dovetails on the outside corners? How do I go about purchasing one? Thanks
Thank you! It’s pretty easy once I built my spine jig. It can be used for either regular splines or dovetail splines. If you would like to buy one contact me through Instagram @JonnieWoodWork.
Very Dangerous practice on the table saw at 6:05. Two things, First, that wood could easily get caught by the blade and rocket back towards you, even with the riving knife. I have had it happen. You need to use a push stick. Second when you reach around and grab that same piece you create a more dangerous situation where your hand could get pulled back into the blade. I hope you change the way you do this, because other people watching will think this is ok and do it as well.

Seems really risky to use plywood on any part of a cutting board! For starters it seems like a really good chance the plywood won't always be avoided with a knife and I didn't notice a warning to anyone who might try to copy this and unknowingly use plywood for food prep?! What if the toxic glue from the plywood leaches into the maple when washing it at some point?
I appreciate the concern….I’ve done some research on the amount of formaldehyde present in Baltic birch plywood, and I’m comfortable with using it as a border for my own projects. I’m not going to sell this cutting board, and this is not a how-to video….. just me building something I thought was cool in my shop. I do recommend that anyone building anything should do their own research when it comes to safety concerns. Also my wife thinks it’s too heavy, so it will most likely never be used.
@@jonniewood I appreciate that you investigated the safety aspect of plywood. I was a little surprised at how thick you made it. I imagine it is quite heavy! I did want to mention, in case you didn't know, that there is plywood made with soy-based adhesive that is supposted to be food safe. You can get Columbia Forest's PureBond Maple Plywood at Home Depot, and the price is competitive!
Это просто шедевр ! Обязательно повторю ! Привет из России !!!
👍👍👍👍👍
absolutely gorgeous piece of work
Thank you, I appreciate it
Man these things look handy to have
Yes sir, I’m probably going to add a few more to the shop real soon. 👍
Hi from 🇨🇦 That chess set is gorgeous!
New subscriber here. Love the cutting board!! I really like the fast-forward, no fuss no muss. Watching from Canada 🇨🇦
WOW!!! Beautiful job. I'm sure your wife loves it!! Watching from Canada.
Thank you very much! I'm happy you're enjoying the videos.
awesome video! great craftsmanship and videography. loving your videos so far! keep making more! can you please tell me where you got all the molds from?
Thank you so much, I bought the molds on amazon. There are a few different options, I bought the resinworld ones.
