Finding God Through Alcoholism and Addiction Recovery
I need someone
Way to go!
Thank you guys for this very much!
Missed you at My House 2, Father! It is good to see you both.
Glory be to God! God bless you! I love my Catholic faith!!!
I love CIR, but I've been attending other 12 step meetings for many years and I really need the face to face fellowship as well.
Any Catholic who has been to AA and other programs, can identify. Especially when they start Catholic bashing...but I need Face to Face a couple times a week.
Addiction to a false gospel doesn’t work.
I think we are around the same age. I am 37. I am 16 months clean and sober thanks to God. He came into my life out of the blue. It was a total miracle. It’s too bad it didn’t happen for me at 26 like with you but he kept me alive until I could get it right. Happy for you, brother. Praise God and his Church!
Thanks for reaching out to me and my family.
God Bless you all for allowing God to help heal you & for the love of our Lord ❤. One Day At A Time 🙏🏽❤
Are there online meetings I live in the UK?
Most likely, anyone can join virtual meetings over the website if they can't attend in person.
Great video !
I just started my Second 90-90 yesterday...
Thank you Kelli!!! The Holy Spirit radiates his love through your message of hope!!!❤
Thank you Scott!
Thank you for this witness/ important message. God bless🙏🕊
This video has been a great help to me today. Thank you so much.
Good job, Marty! Great message. I've enjoyed listening to you.
Marty, this is incredible! God bless you!!
Thanks, Kevin!
<3
Best of luck to you on your journeys
Best of luck to you too!
You have the “charism of connection”! Our Lord delights in your receptivity of the gift and your leap of trust in Him, Kelli!
Thank you for your daily encouragement and enthusiasm, Kelli!
thank you I'm new liked what you said about honesty it is hard to do at first, next I need to connect with a meeting
Thank you!
Scott have you broken away from AA and started another program?? Just like our Protestant brothers who broke away and started "Celebrate Recovery"??
I have not broken away from AA - it continues to save my life. Catholic in Recovery is a great supplement to that where I can integrate my understand and experience with the sacraments into my recovery while connecting with fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.
@@weebo316 Oh , my bad,.. I'm glad you responded. I was afraid you were like some who can't share their faith in an AA meeting so they run to other meetings where they won't meet opposition. I too do alot if spiritual exercises not connected to AA. Yet I strongly feel we as recovered Alcoholics must have the courage to stand our ground in AA and "Carry the Message" . It's sad people have to run to AA in the first place and we didn't run to the Church, but the truth is that there are sooooo many looking for answers and have been told AA is the place to get it. As for me I will try to do my part in AA. Thanks for the reply . Be Blessed Lonnie +t+ Don't get me wrong , some tact and diplomacy are required.
PS... I'd be all for an augmentation to AA like Catholics in Recovery if the focus was on teaching Catholics how to truly be a witness in AA and Carry the Message instead of them being insulted by the ignorance that is run ramped in today's AA society/ fellowship.
God bless you sir and thank you for sharing your story!
why is it so difficult to find Catholics in recovery?
We're out there. I get really tired of hearing the term "recovering Catholic" in the rooms. I don't take it, I'll tell them that meeting is down the road. (SD: 7Sep81)
Because of pride.
@@DUCKBMET What I tell them is I was an ignorant Catholic and knew nothing about the Catholic faith. My pride caused me to leave the Church because I wanted to interpret God in my own way instead of getting to know Him as He is. AA taught me to seek God and His will for me, not to creat my own God. A simple conception was all I needed to establish this relationship. AA promised me that I would and could grow from there. I took appendix ll ( in the Big Book to heart) """"....... contempt prior to investigation """ AA taught me to lay aside these prejudice" even against organized religion" . I therefore studied almost every religion under the sun. The last one I studied was the faith of my youth. Today I am "black belt Catholic " 😂 If there was such a thing. 😂 The response has been great. I've sponsored quite a few fallen Catholics and had the privilege to see some non Catholic people come to the Church through the sacraments. If you know your AA well you can do alot of good in the rooms of AA . If you are weak in your recovery and looking for adulations from other Christians then abandon AA and go preach to other Christians. For myself AA is an awesome fishing pond.
@@lonniestoute8762 I tell people alcohol and drugs fueled my resentment against The Church (being forced to go as a child and many other reasons.) But AA led me back. When I was 18 and left The Church, I told my sister (a now-former nun) that if I ever came back to Christianity, it would be to the Roman Catholic church, because if they didn't have it right, no one did (almost 2,000 years and still going.) Scott Hahn's message and reading the Bible helped. Do you know the 2nd largest denomination in America? Ex-Catholics. I agree there's a lot of fertile soil out there. I have two friends who are evangelical Christians, and they both know the truth of The Church, but they're too stubborn (and prideful) to take that final step.
@@DUCKBMET Amen Bro. What I studied confirmed that if I were to call myself Christian ,I would have to be in the Catholic Church. It was either deny Jesus or join the Church He started. Praise God He humbled me enough to see .
