How To Make a Granny Square on a Skull
Переглядів 4,3 тис.3 роки тому
Thank you for your patience while I made this video. I had a lot of comments on my No Border Crochet Skull Motif video asking how I did the granny square border, so here it is just in time for Halloween! Check out my other video if you want to know how I made the skull! ua-cam.com/video/9vGRNa7weKw/v-deo.html Happy spooky season everyone!! Edit: Another youtuber pointed out that Crochet Nirvana...
How I Make My Crochet Skulls - No Border Needed!
Переглядів 19 тис.4 роки тому
In this video I will show you how I crochet the skulls for my skull blanket. I got frustrated by the standard skull motif that I found because of the long tail that you had to leave at the top to do the border at the end. The method that I came up with eliminates the need for that pesky border, and saves time and frustration. I hope you find it helpful!
10/10 would crochet. Much yarn. Such wow.
Thanks for the quick tutorial! I added an extra row of half double above the double/skip row and it’s got a nice flouncy top. It came out so cute!!
You need to come back to YT!!! You are a great teacher!! This is the 5th time I followed a tutorial to make a skull and the only time it came out right!! 🧡🧡🧡
I love this so much! Do you think you can do a dice bag that opens up into a tray?
thank you a lot!! ❤ i just made one for my friend/crush, who likes d&d... i hope he'll like it (づ◡﹏◡)づ
I've gotta say, i made this while recovering from a disease, half the time i had to stop because my body couldn't move an inch, not even a finger, nodded off a few times in between, have only been crocheting fro the last few months and STILL it turned out cute! Though I don't know how I accidentally had an extra stitch in my rows but still turned up with one hole too little in the end for the drawstrings, but it is barely noticeable and I'm happy with the result :-D
i hope you’re well and feeling better!!! ❤
Why is my bottom huge and my sides small, the more I build the more it sorta mushrooms out! How do I fixxxx
Do you have a video for a larger bag? I want to make one for the tiles for UpWords! I made this one today for our dice and it came out great. Instead, I single crocheted a string and put little tassels on the end!
I made one for my dm/best friend for Christmas and she loved it!
That makes me happy to hear! :)
Thank you! I've been looking for a different style of dice bag to add to what i make!
I am glad that this tutorial could help! :)
Made this into a blanket. It came out nice. Decided to make a throw pillow to go with it. This was a fun pattern to make.
i hope its not too long after the post to ask, what are the measurements? mine feels like it came out a bit small, its 3 inches x 3 inches
That is about the size they should be. I made them so they fit a couple sets of dice. If you want to make yours bigger then add another row or two to the base before building up the sides
@@laurenqueenofyarn7882 thank you!
You don't have this in PDF format by chance do you?
Yes Yes yes and....YES
How can i alter this to make it bigger without using thicker yarn and hook
You may be able to add another row with increases to the iris color and adjust the following rows from there, but it may get a bit tricky. I do have another dice bag tutorial that is more basic and will be easier to size up.
This is too freaking cute!!!! I’d love to make the grandkids one for Halloween with treats in it!!! Thank you for the awesome tutorial!!
That is such a cute idea! I am happy you like it!
I just learned to crochet a few days ago and really wanted to make a dice bag for my dnd game tonight, I was able to knock this out in around 90 minutes as a total beginner! Thank you for such an amazing tutorial!
Nice! Yours is the best crochet skull that I’ve seen. Easy to follow as well! I’ve already made 4 of these with glow-in-the-dark yarn and they turned out so cool! 💀💀💀💀
This is awesome!! I made some for my party and they loved them :)) thank you!!
for the base of the bag: 1: slip knot or MR, ch2, 8hdc into MR, pull circle closed, sl st into first hdc 2: ch1, starting with first hdc: 8hdc inc (so you have 16 hdc at the end), sl st into first hdc 3: ch1, 8x[hdc in first hdc, hdc inc] so you have 24 hdc at the end, sl st into first hdc 4: ch1, 8x[2hdc, hdc inc] so you have 32 hdc at the end, sl st into first hdc for the height of the bag: 5: ch1, 32sc FLO, sl st into first sc 6: ch1, 32hdc, sl st into first hdc 7: repeat row 6 8: repeat row 6 9: repeat row 6 10: repeat row 6 gaps for drawstring: 11: ch3, skip 1st, dc, 15x[ch1, skip 1st, dc], ch1, sl st in second ch of the first gap 12: ch1, 32sc, sl st into first sc, ch1, cut the yarn, pull through weaving in: at about 17 minutes end: back and forth beginning: around opening and then back and forth for the drawstrings: 2 strings, 20-24 inches long weave one in and out, then do the save with the other from the opposite whole even up the strings and tie the end optional: slip beads onto both strings on each side and tie a few times to keep them on
Omg tysm you’re a life saver
😍😍😍😍😍😍
Thank you sm ♡♡
Thank you I love you ❤❤❤❤❤
When swapping to the walls and crocheting up, should you still be starting the row in the same loop you slip stitched into or one over from it?
thank you so much!! this will be a great gift for my dm :)
my great grandma's bday is coming up, i want to crochet her some things but im not sure what to make. i might make one of these bags but if anyone who sees this comment knows of anything else i should make pls reply, thx
Omg I need 1000 more of your tutorials!!
Awe thank you! 😊
if i wanted to make the bag bigger is there a certain way to do that or would i just keep going after you stop ?
i just kept adding half double crochets after the 10th row to make it bigger and it worked out fine
I love this! Thank you for the video.
I'm glad you like it! 😊
It went great! Super clear instructions, thank you!
making these for my dnd party for the holidays! so cute!
I absolutely love the sound of ur microphone
Definitely struggling, but I’m determined to make it work.
Just wanted to update that I’ve done 4 now and have one more to go. I have it perfectly memorized!
Wow great job! Im about to make a few as soon as I get my supplies back@@ryannlangley2103
How hard are these to make for beginner?
It would not be terribly difficult. However, I would recommend checking out my other dice bag tutorial, then coming back to this one if you find it too difficult. Hope this helps!
Hi, this video is amazing and as a beginner I'm so happy for being able to follow the tutorial. I just wanted to check with you if this pattern is free, and free for comercial use as I'm thinking of making dice bags and selling. Again amazing video, it was very helpful and the bag looks amazing.
Hiya! Those are super cute! 🖤🧶🖤
Thank you! That means a lot! :)
This is the best tutorial i've seen for this motif hands down!! I manage to write down the instructions, very east to follow. Thank You!
Doing great job
I love this, and video was so easy to follow... Ty How many skulls did you make. And how big was your blanket.
The blanket I made was just for my love seat so I only needed to do 6 squares. It works well as a hanging tapestry too!
I tried to make an octopus and ended up making a dice bag for my first try. So I came here to learn how to properly and intentionally make one, though mine is a bit bigger than intended.
A larger dice bag just means that you can collect more dice!
@@laurenqueenofyarn7882 its bigger than my hand 🤣 it but yes! Probably can be used for a jumbo die 🤔
I'm so glad I've found you!! You explain and fast-forward the chains!! To get the job!! done!! {LoVe ThAt}
Awe thank you!
Thank you for a wonderful tutorial 🌹🌷😊
En español porfavor
I have seen so many of these videos today and this was by far the best! Thank you!
Wow, thank you!
Your skull is WAAAY easiest of any tutorials that I've found on UA-cam. And... in my opinion has the best "loox", BY FAR!! Meaning, the most symmetrical shapes of the skull itself and the eyes and then best definition of the teeth. I would use this pattern over any other ones. Thank you for your creation!!!
Thank you for taking the time to write this review. It really means a lot!
Thank you so much! I watched a different video and i got confused. This video helped me alot. thank you!! 💕
I am so happy you were able to easily follow along!
Bless you!! I wasn’t looking forward to the one other method I saw.
You’re welcome 😊
Such a wonderful tutorial! As someone who just started crocheting you made it very easy to understand and complete so thank you! I can't wait to make so many of these cute little bags for my friends :)
Thank you so much!
Thank you! I made this with a few alterations but this is exactly what I needed!
Glad it helped!
I've been wanting to do a skull blanket for a while thank you for your videos
So cute and easy! Thank you so much for sharing. As soon as I finish making my first bag my son deemed it the bag of holding and took it for his own. 😆
Wonderful!
Very good tutorial!
Glad you think so!
THANK YOU
