    This was so interesting to watch. I came across your video cuz I used to watch nayareadsandsmiles religiously and was wondering what happened to her and that led me down the rabbit hole too. I definitely think a huge part is the algorithm because not only did this make me realize I was following a lot less poc than I realized but there was like no guys that I followed on booktube but compared to booktok the people I followed on there was more diverse. It’s crazy cuz it wasn’t even something I really noticed until I started thinking about old booktubers I followed and what happened to them.

    Loved the video! I always like to hear different reader’s opinions on books, especially ones I liked. Personally, I really enjoyed Remarkably Bright Creatures but I agree the plot is definitely strange. I had to read it a while back for an English project and analyze the hell out of it which I think definitely helped me understand what the author was going for when they wrote the book. Once again loved the commentary, keep it up :)

      YESSSSS it is currently my favorite fantasy series, although it is tied with the Chaos Walking trilogy by Patrick Ness(don’t watch the movie), which I highly recommend. I did try to convince my brother to read red rising and also my best friend, but they have yet to literally read one chapter so that really upsets me, but I will continue to try and persuade them. I can remember reading the first page of red rising, and thinking to myself. Oh my gosh, my brain chemistry is about to be altered and I was sooooo right. Pierce Brown is a magician when it comes to creating worlds and writing dialogue. I was obsessed as I was reading that trilogy. I actually have a super old reading vlog of me reading golden Son. ua-cam.com/video/1L624pOLRMU/v-deo.htmlsi=E1XbqNTdtm_-P26E I do have to say that I have read Iron gold and dark age, but I truly did not enjoy those books which it pains me to say, but I just think so much changed from the trilogy to the most recent three books. I didn’t enjoy the numerous amounts of new characters that I felt were shoved down my throat, and I am not a fan of multiple point of views, also the time jump was a lot. Those were the main things that truly threw me off with the new books. Also, they are It feels like double the amount of pages from the original three books. I have not read LightBringer and I honestly don’t know if I ever will, but regardless of that I still think that trilogy is untouchable. So glad you love them like I do ❤️

      @ you see I don’t read a lot of book genres that would have kidnapping in it so I can’t say I have any experience with that but like I said, I love a good pregnancy trope and most of the pregnancy tropes I end up reading occur in books that aren’t even romance because that’s not a genre that I heavily read. Although if there’s a character that I am very annoyed with and they get pregnant then I hate it.😆

    I hate the 'enemies to lovers,' that is actually a rivals to lovers, that's where alot of people go wrong when they list a book as enemies to lovers, they don't know the difference between them , and a 'enemies to lovers,' trope would bring in more attention, so that's prob why another authors list books as that when they aren't. I deeply hate love triangles 😅, it might just be a me thing, but It's always so obvious who the girl was gonna end up with , and its normally the 'bad boy or nice guy,' to choose from. I don't read straight romance, but something with two guys that are really nice and interesting would be better as choices . I love and hate the chosen one tropes- It has to be well down for me to like it lol . (can agree with you on the Hunger Games thing, I've only read the first book, but from the first book she already doesn't match with other books of the 'chosen one,' trope. To me I see the chosen one as someone who is chosen to follow a prophecy or smth of that sort , they are normally the key (and the only key) to defeating the evil, so no one else but them have the power to stop the bad guy- Katness I believe does not possess any special abilities ? Anything that no one else could gain ? If she does have something that only she has and that something is the only thing to help stop the evil, then she prob would fall under the chosen one)

    • @itsmorgan1017
      @itsmorgan1017 2 місяці тому

      yess most books that are sold as "enemies to lovers" are truly "rivals to lovers". Yeaaa I will say when I know a book series has a big love triangle it's usually a turn off to where I will put off ever picking up the book. But for some reason if I don't know about going into it. It's usually fine, and yesss I do find that It does become somewhat obvious who is gonna be the one she chooses. I would to see some love triangles with 1 guy, 2 girls because I swear, I don't have memory of reading that specific way of a love triangle. Chosen one trope definitely overdone, I prefer the reluctant hero, or a character that has no powers and kind of rises from the ashes and becomes the savior character.

    • @CultivationOfMayhem.
      @CultivationOfMayhem. 2 місяці тому

      @@itsmorgan1017 I also have never seen a romance with a guy and two girls in a love triangle, the closest it gets is normally in cartoons/anime when all/or some female characters fall in love with the MC when they are a guy 😅

      @@itsmorgan1017 I’m with you on this one! I have book review script: (a video coming up soon) - here’swhat I wrote plus ChatGPT [Opening Shot: Calm music with a gentle, serious tone] Host (speaking to camera): If you’re under 18, I recommend stepping away from this video. [Cut to a somber expression on the host’s face] Sadly, I’ve learned what domestic violence is, and it’s a theme that unfolds powerfully in this book we’ll be discussing today. I want to dive deep into the themes, starting with the green flags Colleen Hoover gives her male characters, especially Atlas. Atlas is caring and understanding, becoming a key friend to our protagonist, Lily. Now, Lily is no ordinary character-she’s strong, intelligent, independent, and a free spirit. [Cut to: a dramatic shot of the book cover] Right from the intro, things take off immediately. We’re introduced to Ryle-a charming man who stirs something in Lily. It’s powerful, but at the same time… she gets emotionally connected to this stranger, and it feels off, right? We don’t meet Atlas until flashback moments-Lily’s letters, a form of journaling where she reflects on past trauma. Specifically, the abuse from her father. Both storylines-Ryle in the present and Atlas in the past-are fascinating case studies. We see Lily navigate both healthy and unhealthy relationships through her teen years and adulthood. [Cut to: close-up of the host speaking directly] What I think this book does incredibly well is showcase a dichotomy between different types of love-what superficial love feels like versus what unconditional love looks like. And it’s not just about love-it’s about lust, friendship, heartbreak, and longing. The book covers the full emotional spectrum. [Cut to: host holding the book] On the flip side, it also illustrates the cycle of domestic violence and how it can be broken. This story can resonate deeply with readers, but be aware-it contains smut, light and dark romance, and a contemporary story mostly set in Boston and Maine. [Cut to: image of Colleen Hoover or text on screen] Did you know that Colleen Hoover asked her mom if she could write this book with her perspective in mind? It’s an amazing fact that adds another layer to this story. [Cut to: the book cover again] I really recommend reading this book for the right reasons. The writing is simple but powerful, and it will keep you hooked. [Host, holding the book] Now, let’s talk about the cover-it’s symbolic. The broken flower represents Lily Bloom and her struggles with domestic violence from an early age. The seeds that become the flower represent love and nurturing, just like humans. If we’re nurtured properly, we grow into people capable of kindness, empathy, and love. Unfortunately, not everyone has that privilege. Some face harsh circumstances, and we must adapt, breaking cycles of pain so we can build a healthy future for ourselves and others. [Cut to: host smiling gently] There’s so much to unpack in this book, and I’d love to hear your thoughts. Let’s talk in the comments! Thank you for watching.

    I was given a DnC after I bled for two years straight with endometriosis. The pain went away, my cycle changed , and I was able to conceive. The OB/GYN said that my pregnancy might have “cured” it. It’s been over 13 years since I had issues. I’m slowly starting to have irregular cycles again and intense cramps so either the endometriosis is coming back or I’m in perimenopause. 😩
