Hope these fillers are in rebirth of souls but rewritten

Personally I always found the Shusuke Amagai arc to be incredibly underrated and cool. The Bakkoto were a unique and interesting concept that brought up the possibility of a new spirit weapon capable of rivaling a Zanpakuto and they had excellent and intriguing designs. There were some pretty great fights in this arc and characters who are underutilized like Chad and izuru actually got a chance to shine and I'm a big fan of those two characters. Shusuke Amagai imo was a pretty fun character and I really enjoyed how the anime explored the new characters relationship with the rest of the squad. The only thing I wasn't really a fan of was how it kept jumping to Amagai and then the princess because it always left me wanting to see more from Amagai. Overall though the best bleach filler imo is the regai arc it's absolutely fantastic and the new characters are actually cool.

I am very happy that this portion of the story was very streamlined and reworked to where the main character and villain have a proper fight and the villain’s motivations are clearer here

The Thing I Always Noted About The Bleach 4 Filler Arcs Is How Less Creative The Writers Got With Each Arc. The Bounts Being A Wholly Original Race With There Own Powers & Lore. The 3rd Captain Arc Had Them Fight Shinigami's With Unique Ish Weapons. The Zanpakuto arc Has Them Fighting Well The Being That Give The Shinigami There Powers. Then Finally The Reigai Arc Are Just Fighting Clones Of Themself. Another Silly Thing I Found About The 4 Filler Arcs Is The Always Come Up With A Reason To Have Ichigo Be At Odds With Byakuya.

The bount arc was my introduction to bleach so i never knew it wasnt canon when i was first watching it on TV so when i found out people hated it i was shocked to say the least

It’s been pretty easy for me to tell which filler arc was my favorite in Bleach, as it was the only one that I remembered: The Zanpakuto Rebellion. Despite it breaking the pace of the main story, I very much liked it on my first watch years back and felt like it provided crucial plot information for many of the characters. We can even see it’s true as Rukia’s bankai turned out to be her zanpakuto’s form from this arc. As for other fillers, I only remember they existed due to the annoyance I felt when stumbling upon each of them

Never seen an anime with better filler, frankly.

Bount Arc is not a terrible arc by itself in 2024, but when you take into context the timing of it coming right after one of the greatest arcs in anime with the Soul Society Arc and reveal of Aizen as main antagonist with hogyokul, and then you have to wait a whole year to even see what he's doing. You can then understand why Bleach fans at that time were seriously pissed off at the arc.

I like the invasion arc seeing kenpachi fighting himself and toshiro getting ptsd from hurting momo was great to see

Something that I love about filler arcs is that you can notice the writers becoming better at writting the characters as the episodes go on. Same happens with Naruto. The first filler arcs where pretty "meh" mission of the day type of stories, but later on in Shippuden they were cooking some really good stuff like the Guren arc, the Chikara arc or the Kakashi ANBU arc.

Sailor Moon Crystal is a great example of how a 1 to 1 adaptation isn’t always the best option. It mostly adapted one chapter per episode and didn’t attempt to adapt some of the extra chapters for downtime episodes, the budget for the first two seasons was extremely cheap for a franchise as marketable as Sailor Moon, and the movies adapting the last two arcs of the manga felt more like compilation movies for a season of television than full length feature films. However, I will stand by that it is still a more worthwhile show to experience Sailor Moon for the first time than the original 90s anime. Not only are there a ton of filler episodes that make the story a bit longer than it needed to be, but the story for each season also made some changes that arguably weaken the narrative and the portrayal of the characters. On top of the Usagi/Mamoru romance being handled poorly for 2 manga canon arcs and a filler arc in between, it irks me how there are episodes in the 90s anime that portray the friendship between the Senshi, mostly the dynamic between Usagi and Rei, as so hostile and catty to the point where I’m questioning “why are they still friends?”. While more could’ve been done with Crystal be just as engaging of a show as its predecessor adaptations, it is at least a show that manages to stay consistent with the character writing and the story it’s telling.

The zanpakto rebellion arc is my favorite filler arc since you get to learn more about the zanpaktos spirits.

Zanpakuto Rebellion is my favourite arc of all the Filler Arcs. It actually gave us spoilers years in advance for characters will before the TYBW, like Chojiro (his real powers, which are canon), Shunsui's (how they actually look is canon), and why Unohana's is cloaked (referencing who she really is behind the Motherly persona, i.e. "her cloak"}, and in Kazeshini's case, him even appearing in shadows in CFYOW for Hisagi's big battle

I saw the bounty arc on adult swim before I knew what fillers were and I initially liked the doubt arc. At the time my favrite character was uryu and I loved he still had a part to play eventhough he lost his powers. On the flip side the arc made me hate renji because he was shoved in my face more then any of the other lieutenants. I also liked that bount mabashi at first sense he dodnt like eating souls, but then kariya forced him to eat a soul and he became obsessed with getting more which ruined him for me. It would've been better if he struggled throughout the rest of the arc on weather to eat souls; like when he's captures Soi Fon he could have a chance to eat her soul but he resists the temptation instead. Overall I still like the arc even if it's too long.

The bount arc was bad, it had a few ok moments but the bounts never even felt like a real threat, they get jobbed by the soul reapers the moment they get to soul society. and the story makes no sense with preestablished lore Amagai is fine as a character but his arc is terrible, it's way too long. maybe as a faster paced movie it would have been good but its a slog otherwise. The rebellion arc is just a joy to watch, it gives you so many "what if" fights and the zanpakuto spirits have incredible designs. However..... it also contains a second filler arc on the end of it with the rogue zanpakuto spirits going crazy. It was also the worst timing because the main story was reaching its peak at the time. The reigai arc is just good, I'd be perfectly happy if it was just normal cannon.

Good list. I enjoy seeing Fullbringer/ Lost Agent love, it's such an underappreciated little arc. And of course, having my cousin take center stage makes it all the more enjoyable.

It's funny, I actually just rewatched the Zanpakutou Rebelion arc myself recently. I remembered how cool the Byakuya vs Koga fight was but not much else. Thematically, I feel like a better ending would have been for Kenpachi to be the one to take out Muramasa, since he's the same type of character as Koga and there would have been much more pathos involved.

The kasumiohji conspiracy arc is the only good well written filler arc with a proper beginning middle and end with great character writing The biggest issue is making the new captain evil just because he had to die to keep continuity. That arc gets alot of hate cuz it interrupts ichigo vs ulquiorra round 3 but watch it on its own its probably the only time perriot ever cooked.

This may be an unpopular opinion but I think the Reigai Arc is the worst filler arc in Bleach. At least with the other filler arcs, I felt something. There was something that I liked about them, even if it was just one or two things. The Reigai Arc had NOTHING that I liked. I didn't care about any of the new characters, I thought the concept was boring and tired, the villain was not compelling or intimidating, and the animation was just a result of them having access to either more money or better equipment so I can't even give that as a positive. I didn't know how good I had it with the Bount Arc until I watched the Reigai Arc.

That's why I like the bount arc. I even like Reigai Arc and the Zankaputo arc too. My least is the the 2nd arc where they have to protect the princess from assassins. The Reigai arc is definitely underrated filler arc.

My opinion, the bount arc needs some chances because people really talk mad crap about it and kept telling reactor to skip this arc like chill out and let the reactor give there own opinion by watching it. Reactor didn't know who these 3 dolls character and who the bount guy is when he appear Ichigo's mind.

You won me over as soon as went over the Bount arc. Kariya, Koga and Ichinose genuinely make the arc decent. It's too long sure, but It's an entertaining ride that fits the universe in my opinion.

Reigai arc was great, there was a point in my life that I thought it would be much better ending to bleach than Fullbring arc, I was young I had no idea there was a bleach manga even, and after a few rewaches of the show Fullbring grew on me and I changed my mind in the end

I much prefer the unofficial name of the second filler arc over the official one. Yes, there's a new captain for the filler arc, but he's not the focus of the arc. I don't care what anyone says, to me that arc will always be the 'Kasumioji Conspiracy' arc.

The Bount Arc was obviously inspired by Yu Yu Hakusho's Chapter Black Arc. It starts with three characters with weird powers abducting a member of the main cast, setting up a series of challenges in a weird space, abducting another member of the main cast mid-challenge, and the whole thing being revealed as a test/wake up call from the mentor figure that suddenly being among the strongest beings means nothing if beings with esoteric abilities are able to outsmart you. There's also the villain group's goal being to capture the one currently depowered member of the group and use his power to create a bridge between two realms. Heck, there's even a fight in a hospital.

Considering that Koga and Ran'Tao survive, and considering how the Bounts were referenced in the Arrancar arc, and _especially_ considering that the Bounts had history with the Quincy, I was really hoping that maybe Koga makes a return in Thousand Year Blood War, maybe with a reborn Daraku. When I first heard that Mayuri resurrected some Arrancar to fight the Sternritter, I was also hoping some of the Bounts would be reborn. Part of me even has a headcanon that the Sternritter BG9 is actually the result of the Wandenreich experimenting on captured Bount Dolls - a 'Bount Golem project' if you will - with BG9 being the ninth unit produced from that project and likely the most successful one to date. One potential scenario that has me really intrigued is: which would be stronger - Mabashi's Doll Rizu, Giselle's Schrift 'The Zombie' or Pepe's Schrift "The Love"? All three can control enemies, but I'm kinda wondering if Rizu's control can override Giselle's control over her Zombies, or even steal control away from anyone affected by The Love. Or another thing: considering the elemental affinity of Ichinose's Zanpakuto Nijigasumi, would it have been a threat to the Quincy shadows? Or maybe that one elderly Bount with the fish doll Baura vs Liltotto and her Schrift of The Glutton - who has the literally bigger mouth to eat things with?

I've been doing largely the same, revisiting the anime in anticipation for..well, Rebirth of Souls. I'm not nearly at the point where I'm ready to retry the TYBW arc through the anime. And I've been revisiting the filler arcs along the way, where I was most acquainted with the Bount and Zanpakuto arcs in the past, and liked both at the time. Upon revisiting those and being introduced to the others, I had to skip the Bount arc after the first few episodes. I was just not invested in how slow it moved and I really had no strong pull to see the rest beyond the Illustrated Guide to Soul Reaper sections. First watching the Amagai arc, I was a bit invested at first, especially in Izuru's development working with a new captain. But I simply wasn't interested in the Rurichiyo plotline, and as soon as the two converged, I just had to tune it all out. The Zanpakuto arc really is where things just turned out right for filler content. The humanoid forms of the zanpakuto were creative, I enjoyed the dynamics between them and their owners during and outside of combat, and I enjoyed them interacting with each other. Plus, Muramasa and ultimately Koga proved to be compelling villains here. And I'll also be real..I thought the Sword Beast stuff was fun. I actually really liked the episode between Senbonzakura and Zabimaru: it simply made me laugh considerably at multiple points. I'm most of the way through the Reigai arc, and I think this arc feels like it's combining elements of the past arcs: the mod souls from the Bount arc, the girl everyone's after in the Amagai arc, and the mirror matches of the Zanpakuto arc. I can definitely say in handling these, it's very balanced, it's also very..weaksauce. Not much truly stands out for me: the villain's not particularly interesting, the mirror fights aren't very interesting, and the main characters aren't really furthered for me in the process. That is except Kon. For whatever reason, this arc has made me really like Kon, and especially his dynamic with Nozomi, who I feel is the one other really interesting character in this arc. I'm genuinely invested in their dynamic here and want to see them be happy. The only other intriguing moment in this arc so far is the Toshiro vs Momo fight. It's that type of psychologically cruel scenario that unfortunately was abrupt in its ending. I am reaching the point where I'm more invested in the arc, so I'll have more final thoughts after I'm finished. Tl;dr Zanpakuto >>>>> Reigai (so far) >>>>>>>>> Amagai >> Bount

FINALLY,someone things bount is overhated ALOT!!! its okay not good but not bad tho new captain arc was as it was i dont think its good , i was sooo focused on ichigo vs grimmjow figth what happeneed after BUT THIS ARC SHPWED AND I HAD TO WAIT ALOT ALOT OF WEEKS to see the FIGHT ontinue but the zanpakto tale arc was good i enjoyeed it alot with WHITE ichigos fight goeti 13 arc was good too the animation had improved i liked it a BIT not alot but eh ish your takes are valid and i enjoyed to vid alot you got my sub!!

My main dislike for the Bount arc is that it has no actual place in Bleach canon once everything is revealed while you could make an argument for the rest. Their creation predates the SRDI and the previous Kenpachi was not a man worthy of Maki's respect. I'm not even sure the Quincy Bount war was possible aside from allowing two separate threats to the Balance of Souls to destroy each other.

I like all of the filler arcs due to the fact we get more exposition on the Soul Societies past atrocities along with more depth given to some characters, like you said in the vid Uryu got more characterization over him losing his powers Side note I think the Dolls for Bounts are supposed to be based on Golems from Jewish mythology. Autonomous beings made to protect the oppressed from their oppressors

I agree. The Reigai arc had, I would say, cinematic levels of animation. I felt like it had to be a movie. Reminded me somewhat of "Memories of Nobody." Also: 1. The Bount Arc: Boring👎🏻 2.
