Hey. Welcome to Pawpaw did it again, Where we do pretty much what ever the hell we want. So subscribe, like, share, all that cool stuff below the video, it really helps me out so I know what kind of stuff to do. I like to get into things in the town I live in, Shreveport, the State I live in, Louisiana and beyond. Kayak, Camp. sooner or later we are going to touch on something you find interesting or cool. I like to do projects around the house, outside on the wooden spool in the back yard. If its something I think is cool, I'll do it for the first time on a video even if it is a failure. Not in any way am I trying to be an expert on anything on this channel. Just love having a good time. What can I say, I really enjoy making videos. Give me a watch. Maybe you will find something you like on here. I try to categorize Videos into play list to make it easier for you to find what you might enjoy. There is plenty more to come. I'm just getting started here.

Getting very hot and dry in North Louisiana. Had to come up with a way to put some water out for the bees so they can keep the hives cool. This is just how I did it, not the only way to do it. Most people in state consider the entire Eastern third of mainland Massachusetts Boston lol.
Sudden interest in haversack, and found your videos. I also like keeping bees, having a good backpack. I guess some man have similar hobbies.
Can I box the top corners? Love the kiss affect, keep it short and simple. Bet ya thought I was going to say something else.
mine is nothing like that.
Sweet 😊
That frame does not weigh 30lbs! More like 5lbs. A whole box of frames might weigh 30lbs.
I have a question regarding the way the thermostat is wired. I have a Trane Single Packaged Electric Heat Pump System (Heat and AC in one unit). Is there anything that would be wired differently than what you showed in this video? I saw that you mentioned the advanced setup and there was a different wire setup for heat pumps. Would I have to configure the wire setup differently or since the Trane unit is an all-in-one system would it just be wired the way you did it here in the video under "electric heat?
@josephwaters94 there is another wire that would be needed for a heat pump...on orange typically and that would go the O terminal on a typical application. There is a spot in the initial set up to tell the start Stat what wires you have.
great video
Where do you get your Boonie Cap ? I recently got one from amazon and was NOT happy.
Thanks for this. Question: how come you didn't just remove power from the main breaker vs at the air conditioner?
No switch?
no switch... just the chain
I would use a sponge to apply and smooth it out with in circular motions, get in seams, band, edge of the brim, use much less creame in the process. You did fine still, we all do it differently
I am geting it for HVAC too lol good video. Thank you 🙏🏻
I love the battery operated part but this thermostat keeps losing the WiFi connection which was never a problem with my Nest and when it is connected, the app sometimes isn’t reflecting what the actual thermostat is reading / doing! The “smart” capabilities are shaky at best. Hoping Sensi improves it.
We are currently buying this has not been setup on our land. Do you think we could put a queen sleeper mattress in the left closet to the kitchen
I would park it in Maryland. Would you suggest draining the water or using the water heater?
I know less than you Mr Darrin about bees I would like to suggest that I don't see any flowers or a garden near your bee hives Longer grass also produces extra pollen. Stay hydrated Sir. Great content and humor
Come on fellow, show us something, enough talking
Buy acorn inserts you can pick how much wax they add. They draw out the heavy coated inserts from acorn as fast as frames I put extra wax on. they also have extra coated on top of the heavy coated inserts.
I'm not sure what time of year this video is, but I'm wondering if you should remove the top box. It has very few bees and nothing going on. You don't want them to have to defend a box with nothing in it.
Awesome job man. Looking a lot better now. The only other advice about frames I would give u is this. When checkerboarding like u did with the empty frames make sure u don’t put a empty frame beside a full honey frame they will draw the comb from full frame over towards empty frame and u will end up with the huge frames of honey like u already have experienced, making it hard to almost impossible to pull the frame without making a huge mess. That all being said think of a rainbow that is what a hive setup should be like. Below the rainbow in the open space should be brood from the rainbow (above and beside should be resources. To explain, in a deep I will have honey frames against both walls with the inner frames being brood frames. I will reorganize frames to fit this design. I’ve found that the bees work better and overwinter better, because the honey on the outer walls acts as a thermal barrier.
I just installed this watching your video. the house is new and I didn’t download the app yet because there is no WiFi there is power but it’s not cooling only the fan is working
Mucros Weavers makes great Irish flat caps for about the same price.
Love flatcaps
You might not have waxed the frames enough. It is very tricky. Basically have to trick the bees into thinking the wax has been laid down by a bee so they complete the cell. Otherwise, they will just build on the frame instead of completing the frame.
Bump . Nicely done. After a years use, would you tweeck it or reenforce it?
Waxed scraps of cloth can be used as natural food wrappers for things like cheeses, breads or other items that need to be sealed from air contact. I use them quite often in my living history demonstrations. Old linen napkins makes a fine base for wax wraps.
Hey Darren, make sure to use real bees wax to coat your frames, I've used some bought was that the bees don't like to draw on, also certain foundations have different size starter holes the bees don't like, its mostly on the cheap foundations. good luck.
Those problem frame foundation are not in the slots in the frame itself, foundation should lay flat not bowed like it is. It also looks like your foundations don't have enough wax on them to start with. Bees generally don't like drawing comb on plastic anything. You remedy this by getting REAL beeswax from a local supplier (not off Amazon). melting it down and using a low nap paint roller just roll it on. Cover the whole foundation, it doesn't really matter if you fill the hexes in the plastic because the bees will move it around. I started with those Beecastle hives too, they are made in China and have no where near the required wax on any of the foundations. Rewax them and stager them around the bees will draw them out. The reason not off Amazon is because whats being sold there as beeswax is really parrafin wax, incidentally that's whats covering your hive deeps. Bees don't like parrafin since its petro based. Probably by next season your hive bodies will need to be painted too.
You're not learning nothing unless you're making mistakes, we all make mistakes. You're going. To learn from your Mistakes. just enjoy the bees.
the reason they are making your comb all jacked up is because u don’t have the inserts in the slots correctly they are bowed in the center, look at around 11:00-11:30 u can see it bowed out completely. One messed up like that will make them all jacked up
And after watching further into the video u have multiple messed up inserts in your upper deep. Do u even have the correct type of frames? U should have a grooved top and grooved bottom on your frame for the type of inserts you are using. Your inserts should be completely flat.
You may find the reason they've been so productive is because you've been feeding them sugar water constantly. I think you'll find the nectar and honey in your frames isn't actually nectar, it's sugar water honey. They really need to get out and forage for themselves in order to make genuine honey. Can't help with your frames as I've never used plastic foundation. Never had that problem with wax.
Have you checked if your hive is level? That might be a reason for weird comb.
You have two deeps and a super on top. To much room. I am going to add. Hold two frames together. See the space?? Bees walking on the foundation take up 1/4 inch. Bees on both sides take up 1/2 inch leaving the correct bee space. Again you have too much space for the amount of bees. Before you add the second box the bees should boil out when you take the cover off. Then add the second deep. It’s not the foundation the beekeeper.
Also, I’ve been told that if you don’t want the bees building the “eyebrows” of their wax out super thick, and not building on the empty frame, it’s better to put the empathy frame up against a brood frame, as they can only build those out so far since it can only be a certain size for brood to develop. Hopefully that makes sense.
Where did you get your frames or foundations from? I bought mine from better bee, and I also use black wax-coated plastic foundation and I haven’t experienced them chewing it. 11:57
Actually, that’s a good question too; are your plastic foundations wax coated? Or just plastic?
16:35 Actually you just answered that. Sorry
16:53 Maybe just using your scrapings with your hive tool and instead of removing it, just scrape it across the foundation?
Are you using self spacing frames and butting them right up to one another. If not you will have more than the recommended bee space and will end up with lots of bur comb and frames with deeper combs of honey, like your fat one. See if you can fit one more frame in your brood box to take up the extra space. If your frames arent self spacers you can buy plastic spacers to slide on the frames so they ensure you have the correct space between each frame.
Subscribed! Love a good new channel!! Looking forward to watching your bee journeys!
My question is , has anything gone wrong with the electrical system. How about the water system. Does it come with solar panels?
I have had no issues with electrical. No it does not come with solar panels
That is a pretty nice setup. Bees like dirty water so they might prefer the stagnant water but it is an awesome little bee pond.
Thanks
I didnt see the link for the pump...wanted to check ot out.

Sir a boonie hat is supposed to be floppy it's not a cowboy hat...
Do you ever get a E3 error code on any thermostats? How many do you have?
Yes I do. Evidently that is a very common one..I just kept resetting mine and it finally quit coming back
That looks like a really easy process. I love the way the material looks and handles after it is ironed vs the heat gun. Thanks for making this video.
Wow your wife did a great job at simplifying that bag. I might make a couple of modification to the one I make for my husband but this video is perfect for showing how easy it can be to make a basic yet functional bag. Thanks for making this video.
Great video this help me out a lot!

Bees
Lol love that last shot
This is a great little short. I think you might be starting to get the hang of things.
Man! That was amazing! Do yo think I can feed them blueberries and get same result?
Not real sure on that one..would be interesting
Just threw some bananas on mine. Also had to throw my second deep on. The girls went into overdrive or found the honey hole somewhere, because I just checked and 9/10 frames were almost fully drawn out.
