He says it is done, but I am waiting to see how he embellishes it!

Al Herwig is working on a new project with marbles and making them rolling them up hill! This is this part one of a two part video. Part two will be a while away because Al has to refine and embellish his creation. Give him a couple weeks!

Al Herwig, a young 96 this year 2022! Designed and created this marble match up rolling toy. He said he has achieved the marble match up with less than 6 tries once. And to prove the complicated and random possibilities, it took a few more attempts to meet the requirements. Darn it! Always happens when you are being recorded!

Al says there are always dozens of ways to do things. Always offering HIS OPINION! We even listen most of the time. But we dont let him know that! Don't want him to get a big head!

Al Herwig is one of the greatest men I have every met. Fun loving, extremely talented, real problem solver and a joy to be with. I carved this replica of him with his Illusionist heart he designed. Vance designed and fabricated the mechanism to create movement. He built the case too. We really treasure Al and his fabulous kind personality.

Al Herwig carved the background away from a copper penny with a coping saw blade. Details are everything! He even carved out inside the letters like "e" and "a"! It is his wife Ellenor's birth year.

Al Herwig always likes to push the creative limit of materials. Experimenting is one of his favorite activities. We have tried many art techniques in different ways than traditionally uses and been most times we are pleased with the results! It is a fact, not all glass melts at the same temperature or cools at the same rate. But, we had to see it for ourselves! Live and learn!

Al Herwig made this as his second warm glass project, this tumbling blocks design. Love the carved frame! Al loves to tackle big projects! Intricate designs are his favorite.
