Welcome to Japan!!! Did you have a good time in Japan? Hope you come to Japan again, if any chance. 👍
お幸せに‼️ ドウドンボリ → ドウトンボリ
nice trip! from Japan
There seems to be a problem syncing music to speech, I can hardly hear what he is saying because the music is too loud.
Nice! Thank you for sharing😊🇯🇵🌸
I think I’m going to love it. I have 5 light bars coming and 2 bulbs.
Excellent unbiased review! I echo ur sentiments my friend. Just picked up yesterday and not sure if can justify the cost vs the eye candyness! Lol. But will live with to see if grows on or may just return it and stick with just the lights. Thx
I have a bloom light works well with this?
Nice. Frame rate is off. The video looks like a HD camcorder video. Try film mode or cinema in your tv’s video adjustments.
Congratulations!so cute girl❤️

HI, did you notice any additional input lag in games and what about dolby vision?
It dosent support dolby vison or Atmos as far i can tell. The TV dosent sync with the box as such, you plug a device into the box, the contents of that device goes through the box and out on to your TV. Thats how it sync the lights. The problem with this ive found is smart TV apps like Netflix and Amazon which are shown in Dolby Vison and atmos cant be viewed with the lights in Sync. The phillips is dependent on you for attaching a 4k firestick or TV box in order for you to watch that content but as the box dosent suppot Dolby V or A you wont recieve it. To solve this - Try playing a show on netflix for example from your tv app and pause it, note the time. Then play the same content through your firestick and pause that at excaclty the same time. Then go back to the dolby vison content and push play on both devices. Both programmes on two different devices playing at the same time will mean you can get to watch dolby vison with atmos and have the lights in sync. It worke just as good even though you have to fuck about.
Wallstrcrash2012 it now supports Dolby vision Dolby and hdr 10 +
@@browniesg161 wow are you sure ?
the lights seem so distracting
What a beautiful story ❤️❤️❤️
Does this work while watching TV like the SuperBowl through Altice?
Bro it works with anything you watch.
Connect the HDMI cable box to the sync box
Great job Matt!
The main difference between the intensity modes Subtle, Moderate, High & Extreme is the reaction time between minimal and maximum brightness. On the highest settings it's almost immediate. While on lowest, the brightness slowly fades over from one shot/scene into another. The speed at which colors change is nearly identical in all modes. Judging by your demo clips i do feel that you us a too low intensity. Please take a look at my Rogue One Darth vader scene using a higher intensity mode for comparison: ua-cam.com/video/AA6PLnY87A0/v-deo.html
The sync box has this semi transparent circle on the front right side, like it has a built-in IR-sensor. Does anybody know what the function is for that? As far as i know the Sync box does not work with any remote.
Don't know if this information is worth anything to anyone but, I just picked up my Sync Box last night, set it up and all was good.... except with my Roku device which was giving me an HDCP 2.2 Error. So this is the way I have it set up. Everything is connected to my Onkyo 4k receiver (Nvidia Shield, Blu-ray player, PS4, and Roku). all of which are connected to a 4K HDMI output. The Roku is the only one i had connected to a HDCP 2.2 HDMI Output. The Syncbox I set up as an ARC passthrough, and still gave me the error. checked cables, checked settings, even hooked up the Roku to the sync box to bypass the error (the downside is that you have to manually change the input, which that defeats the purpose of having everything automated with my Harmony remote, and if you don't have a CEC compatible TV you have to connect the audio from the TV to the receiver via a COAX cable and change the audio to analog). It took me 2 hours to figure it out. I connected the HDMI from Roku to a non HDCP input on the receiver and instead connected it to a 4k one. solved the issue. Also, I hooked up a USB to the syncbox from the TV so now when I click on a Harmony Remote action, The syncbox automatically turns on (or off) along with the last entertainment effects. Hope this helps anyone with an AV Receiver having this issue.
How many lights do u have. I have lights all over the place to give it more intense. Plus my Tv is not on the wall. I will post my video later this week I use an app on my nvidia shield.
I added my ceiling lights, but the problem with that is that during a really bright scene, you can see my entire living room and pulls you out of the experience.
Will the HDMI sync box sync lights with iTunes movies (via Apple TV), even though the hue sync app for the pc doesn’t work with iTunes movies (because of DRM protection of those movies)?
No, unfortunately it will only work with signal that is passed through an HDMI signal. So any signal from a smart TV will not sync.
Slobby Boor Productions Actually, it works with Apple TV
How is everyone connecting it to their receiver and back to TV to get picture and sound? Wondering if someone could , I have a Sony str receiver reasonably new and samsung TV.
I have my receiver output cable going to the sync box and the output cable of the syncbox to my TV. I disabled the sync box's other HDMI inputs.
@@Guez_art thanks dude
HDMI sub
The Sync Box is £230 is the UK. Just been released. That is taking the mickey somewhat price wise. You'd have thought they'd sell an awful lot more if priced around £100 or less. I would have hoped Philips would have had the decency to release the free Hue Sync app for the Xbox as you still need to buy their lights for the effects but obviously they would rather you spent as extra £230. One for a Black Friday sale if at all. www2.meethue.com/en-gb/p/hue-play-hdmi-sync-box/8718699704803
So 1st,...the movie, music and game settings you were wondering about should be explained within the app. They actually make a huge difference as to what kind of media you are displaying. Each setting can also be programmed to respond to sound or not, which also makes a big difference. The light can be more subtle or aggressive depending on the setting. Music settings will apply rythm to your lights. In the scene with thor's hammer light should be flashing around the room giving the feeling of his hammer being in your room! This is the effect you are looking for! Play around with it until you get the desired effect you want. Not all media is appropriate for active color matching though, so sometimes it's better to match a still color scheme. Like, a woody Allen movie probably looks weird with this
Really cool review. Seems real honest, thanks!
I love smart lights but to sync it with your TV, it's just way too distracting for me besides my HDMI inputs are way too valuable to waste on a sync box!!
One benefit of this device is that it can also act as an HDMI splitter for video into your TV, effectively adding 4 HDMI ports to your TV.
@@PanocideX yup!
I have a question I really would love to get the new sync and I have already several of Philips lights I just need the light bar. my issue and Question is my TV is not flush to the wall it’s catty corner with that still have the same affect with the lights
You may need to position your lights differently to create a desired effect. If you already have several lights I suggest playing around with the positioning first to get them where you like before making any permanent installation choices.
I think that the hue lights are distracting behind the tv when watching a movie with horizontal black bars. What if the hue lights were not behind the tv, but instead on the left and right side of the room as well as behind you?
Yep, I totally agree that the lights are distracting in dialogue scenes. The lights should only be on during action scenes. I also don't like a movie's horizontal black bars separating the picture from the hue light.
I bought 2 play bars and put behind my TV. I synced my computer to my TV (I don't have the sync box... Yet) and it worked but the black bars did take away from it.
My tv is a 2018 SONY and its builtin netflix sends audio down to my receiver via the ARC (which sends data both ways), as well as other devices such as my cable box up through the receiver to the tv. SO HOW DOES HUE syncbox capture netflix from my tv?
I don't have a similar set-up so I cannot test this, but from what I understand it syncs lights to the video HDMI signal pass up to the TV. So any apps built into the TV OS will not work with the device.
I have read that it does not work with apps on a TV. You would have to use an outside source such as Playstation or fireatick. Also I don't think it works with Dolby vision as of yet. Netflix has a lot of Dolby vision
like they mentioned in previous comments, TV apps don't work. In terms of Dolby Vision or Dolby Atmos not being compatible, that is true if you have your devices hooked up directly to the Sync Box, but if you have an AV receiver, you have whatever your receiver supports. I only have one cable going to the syncbox, and that's the HDMI output from the receiver.
Does it stay in sync with music?
It randomly flashes colors along with the beat. It is neat and would be cool for a house party. I wish Philips gave more control about color options. It seems very chaotic. That being said, the light flashing is timed perfectly. Thanks for watching!
What's the setup of lights behind your tv? Looks great! I have a 65" tv and not sure what to use. Do I get a few LED strips or the play bars?
I have two Philips Hue Play light bars behind my TV. They are on the left and right and attached vertically. I've considered adding a third at center top as well, but haven't done so yet (and not seen in this video). Thanks for watching!
I have an 82 inch with hue lights strips. I had the strips way before the hue play bars or whatever they called came out. I've been thinking about replacing all my strips with play bars. After a while my strips were less sticky so I had to use Velcro to keep them there. The strip can be only one color at a time as well. If I could do it over again I'd have a bunch of hue plays to begin with.
I just bought the govee tv sync package it comes with everything in one box for 70 bucks from Amazon. It uses a camera to match the colors. It can assign color by led so you dont just get dominate color per light. But dominate color per section of the screen. And it has a great app. Also works with alexa and Google assistant. I almost bought the sync box but could not pay 400 bucks for the feature. Thanks to your review I found out that each light for Philip's can only display one color. Which is not the ambiilight that we are all looking for.
I wanted to get the Philips Hue Sync box but like u said its expensive and I was gonna buy the govee but say people say the color change lags a bit and sometimes the color isnt accurate. Also that the camera and led strips fell off after about 2 weeks. How would u rate the gover set up
Great video!!
That was GREAT!!!
music choice is very good
