I watched this back in the day, i had it on VHS but i kindly gave it my mate. It's so great to watch it again and Thank you for sharing very much highly appreciated entirely
In their prime. Did I ever spin the heck out of this album back in the day. Alone and with friends at parties. I know every note. STILL GREAT, really stood the rest of time. Excellent video.
So glad someone posted this. I saw the Specials at their last US tour show (Speaks Night Club, Long Island) in March 1980. Basically the same show as this one. First concert I ever attended and still the best. They were amazing.
my youth 🖤🤍! and still in love with ska ❤

Here I am again. Watching this great show.
Why is this available on UA-cam but not DVD or streaming services?
I was there, with my NUS card, on my own, as none of my mates wanted to go. More fool them.
At their very best!
Wow el show completo!!! Excelente imagen y sonido. Para siempre Terry Hall y The Specials 🎉
36:34 to see Terry Hall throw a tambourine at a bouncer
I bloody love that he did that, bouncer had a boy by the neck it was shocking, love that they had all on stage moonstomping! X❤
watching them perform It Doesnt Make It Alright, an early Anit- racist hit, and then going into Concrete Jungle above the Essex Anthem, I so wish I'd been there.
I sat some exams in that hall, by the way :)
This is from 1992.
God bless you Jerry Dammers for making this all happen.
If you notice Brad drops his drum stick from his left hand on the intro of Do the dog...but he just keeps it going and pulls another one out just before the drum roll brings Terry Hall in...RIP Brad...7 years ago today 🏁🙏🏼
Watched this on TV as a fledging 17 year old Chelmsford mod. I really wanted to go to this gig in Colchester as it was only 20 miles away but as my scooter was not legal on the road it meant going on the train but I had run into trouble at a previous gig in Witham and had to hide on the floor of the train as skins hunted for me !so I was too scared to go to this one 😢
So sad 😔 RIP Terry Hall..Bless.
Fabulous best of times for music Original humble and timeless classic songs I still love them. I'm 57 year old Mum Love Terry Hall RIP 😢
Steve Jordan was normaly involved in anything Specials shocked not to see his name??
Every Roddy byers song makes the room gyrate!!
RIP Terry Hall! god bless you
RIP Terry Hall 😢
19:52 and then the tune dropped 🤯👌🙌 goosebumps tingles rush - what a tune - if you were there , respect how lucky were we
♡ chicago house where it all began for me not in Chicago tho more like a derelict house in the red light district of Leeds
Absolutely fantastic.
without the specials there would be no uk urban music, just counterfeit reggae, they changed everything.
Im watching this from my Colchester home. I was a bit young for Punk (I was 11 in 77) so Two-Tone was the first youth cult I was able to get into. Mum wouldnt entertain the idea of me going to this gig, and I didnt have an NUS card, so wouldnt have got in anyway. This is one of the greatest live shows Ive ever seen. The energy, the anger, the joy, the musicianship the stage presence. Everything about this is absolutely brilliant. It doesnt age, it doesnt lose any of its urgency, its absoilutely timeless brilliance. I'll still be listening to this in30 years time, and it will still sound as fresh and sharp as it did over 40 years ago.
Rock Goes to College featured a variety of bands and some great live performances. This one stands out.
We had to make do with TOTP
Exactly the same here with me also
Like you, 2-Tone was my first engagement with youth subculture and I was deemed too young to be allowed to go to the gigs. This was probably made worse by my parents catching the content of the lyrics, which they thought were too adult plus hearing Pearl's Cafe blasting from my bedroom probably didn't help. This gig really captures the energy and passion of this period especially at the end with everyone, including kids not much older than me at the time, on the stage. Above all, the typical division between the band and audience just melts away. The Specials were at the forefront but a very similar atmosphere was also at Selector, Beat and Madness gigs at this time. I totally agree that the whole movement has stood the test of time really well.
Sounds like 91 to me
Thank you for this. The first track seemed to be Gil Scott-Heron's 'In the Bottle'
Nasty rhythm. Creative theifs. Made to be mixed ✌
Goosebump tackle
Never been better times.... never
Your right mate if only we could turn the clock back, whats you name, were you from, what you had classic💯💯💯💯
Great times
Anyone know the name of the track 28 mins
Hyper Go-Go - Never Let Go (Mukkaa Mix)
You don't see gigs like that anymore. Incredible stuff.
You should get out more. It still kicks off at gigs in small pub bars. even for a old timer like me
@@skawashers I know it does, but it's not quite the same as a Specials gig like that one.
Love the tunes 💞
jerry dammers athletes foot must have been bloody awful he cant spent more than a few seconds on each foot lol and eww they stank
