Episode 60: Chris Cornell (When Indie and Grunge Collide)
My favorite band of all time..🥰
Untitled is still my favorite overall. Just a complete package
Excellent album
Honestly they sucked once dirk lance left. Light grenades is OK, after that they lost their sound.
Love Light Grenades 😂
they didn't drop off they are still making music
I still consider Incubus my favorite band, the impact Make Yourself had in my pre-teen years was so huge specially Mike’s sound, as a young guitarist it blew my mind.
An amazing guitarist
Love this song!
As a separate topic: I’m always amazed at The National’s incredibly long run so far, not really a bad album in there, all with a singer whose range of notes is probably an octave, but whispers to shouts. -Secret weapons + special ingredients: The Dessners and the horns.
Oh they’re coming up as well!
Roll the bones!!!!
Yes!!
Incubus did not drop off. I definitely think Ben influenced Brandon a lot, if you go back and listen to a lot of Ben’s older music it is very, very obvious. Ben joining the band just kind of took them in a different, more melodic direction. It was a culture shock to the “long time listeners”, but they were still very good and touring internationally. I mean, they are set for life. They didn’t drop off. This is king of a moronic snippet you’ve made here.
😢😢😢
This is so reminiscent of Bob Mould and the ‘Workbook’ album. Bon Iver, Sufjan Stevens, Father John Misty, Cat Poet - smart cookies or lucky for those names. My band disbanded 23 or so years ago, but I’m making one room in my house a studio.
Very cool!
Was introduced to this song as a freshman in college, and the music video was always on MTVU. One of my favorites ever.
The Bravery and The Killers are both really great bands, but like how they had a parallel path together just like Thursday and Thrice, but i hope the members from The Bravery and The Killers set their differences aside got along with each other.
It’s probably too late 😭
Wow, this was a useless video. Please don't make another one!
I can’t help meself 😭😭😭
Love this song never knew this
I really like MGMT! Kids is my favorite song!
Same!
OH! This just made me think that the rise of Ween and how cutting-edge and kinda twisted they were was fun, and very, very 1990s.
Very interesting comparison
Your sound quality seems better. :) I’m not sure what you mean by a second wave of indie music - I would say it’s ongoing, but I’m dinosaur. Looking forward To the video!
Thank you so much! 🙏
Timeless. Simple
Exactly
I was driving through New York and heard this on the radio, thought it was Veruca Salt 😳 They are now one of my favorite bands! Love "Checkered Floor" ❤❤❤❤❤❤
That's awesome!
They absolutely did. Also, it’s kind of funny how you’re saying their videos don’t generally have much to do with the song (which is overall correct most of the time) but you picked the one song where actually the video was thematically coherent with the song (The One Moment being a mix of a 4 seconds shot slowed down and some real time footage for the ending but lbr most of the insanity that happens throughout that video fully happens within 4 seconds or so which is like, part of what the song is actually about)
I’m a rebel 😎
They are so amazing I got to see them at a small library
That’s so cool!
Saw them live in Manchester 2017, thanks to my grandson introducing them to me . The music, songs.singing, untouchable. I often have them playing through my earphones whenever. Thank you Sigur Ros.
That’s awesome!
Prob tran
I feel like it's about someone you want but can't have because they're not ready for that commitment
🤘🧙🏻♂️🤘
They played a hugely popular and critically acclaimed concert on Broadway NY last year! In a hugwly sucessful tour last year. Where were yiu
Missing out 🥲
I didn’t realize they “dropped off” cause I never stopped listening to them. 🥰
😂😂👍
@@MainstreamIndieMusicwhat’s funny?
I wish you long life to this band 💚💛🧡❤️
Great band
It would figure that guys would know what to do with the treadmill. And master it. Hehehh.. ❤😊
I just remembered that Ray LaMontagne had a song called ‘Meg White.’
This song is so catchy. It’s just hook after hook. FYI, you accidentally said “racketeers” instead of “Raconteurs.” Have a happy new year!
I butchered the name all week 😤
@@MainstreamIndieMusic I wouldn’t sweat it. I would guess that loads of people think that’s actually their name. And who didn’t need to Google “Raconteur” right??
It's bc they started playing weird pop that was not good. Science was best, morning view and make yourself also good but inferior, and all that other stuff is trash. Sorry Brandon. You messed up
😭😭
Incubus & Chevelle my 2 favorite all time bands. I have a wide range of music i listen to but those 2 bands I listen to the most
Chevelle is my favorite. Incubus top 10 for me.
Incubus & Chevelle my 2 favorite bands. Just good music regardless of how you want to categorize them
Very nice!
Big of them , not a fan of the new stuff not gonna hold you .
Very nice! Yeah their sound has changed
Great song
Agreed!
The bass, dude. The bass on science and make yourself was amazing. Those two albums are so good.
Agreed!
I first thought that was lady g😳
Hot take, they are not as popular as they once we're because they lost their sound. Dirk left and after that they were different. Each album before that was funky and kinda heavy but the new albums are nothing like that
A pretty fair point!
the volcanooooo
🌋
Easily a top 5 band of the early 00’s up there on the throne with Linkin Park
Nice!
Shut up don’t quit your day job
Ive have been listening to MTB since 2005 when i was in Highschool. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Amazing group!
What she did next is one your channel.. lame.
😢
I’ve been a fan of theirs since the late 90s but while they have a different sound now their thing is that they try to make the next album different from the last because they believe that repetition leads to stagnation in creativity and while not all people like that, it shows they are still true to who they are as musicians and artists and I truly do appreciate that. They are still my favorite band of all time. Their lives shows are still amazing to this day and they’ve sold out so many tours even now…..
Awesome!
I saw them twice in Lubbock. In 2013/14/15 I can’t remember them again in 2022 in Lubbock Texas at Texas tech they are so awesome
Yeah I heard they’re preparing for another run after some time off. That’s great!
Thank you
Great group. I discovered them in 2015 and went to a bunch of their shows. Looking forward to your take.
That’s awesome!
I sooo love the song & this band .... I just found them a month ago .... I never knew they existed before & I haven't stop listening since .... 🤘💯🤘💜🙏✌️
Very nice!
Ohh man!! That was awesome. Best one yet 🎉
Thank you so much!
This so cool. And amazing!! ❤ BIG FAN!!
