Hello.. Thanks for great video. Quick question..Does tail lights have anything to do with mirror lights ? I have 2014 Tiguan n right tail signal and mirror signal both stopped working at the same time. Do I need to replace both bulbs ?
this is how not to do it. you need to release the clips with screwdriver from the inside. you will break them doing it like this. thanks for this misinformation.
Great video. My '09 Tiguan will show the bulb indicator light on the information panel as well as the description of which light is out---"Left rear signal light". I will try this tomorrow!
You left out having to access the white plastic knob inside the access panel that you turn 90 and push to release the back of the light from the clip. Doing this there is no need to pry the rear of the light.
Just replaced the passenger side mirror turn signal unit (you can't replace just the bulb, it's a sealed component you have to replace) now even when my keys are removed the turn signals will still work. This is irritating because after I tested to see if it was working I didn't put the turn signal lever back in the middle position, I just shut the key off and the next day my battery was dead. I'm sure something probably has to be reset through the VCDS to fix it but I hate going to the dealer because they always try and rob you (sometimes with a gun). Anyone else have this problem happen to them?
@Angelito Jusay - Could you capture a video how to replace the stand-light at the back door. I mean the bulb behid the white circle at the back door (NOT the rear light for a fog, which could be replaced by removing a cover on the inside of the back door). Thanks in advance.
If you couldn't find a new bulb in the near car-part-store (like me), you could also try to repair the bulb, itself. The turning light of my father's Tiguan experienced the same problem a year ago. The wire inside the bulb was still intact. So I managed to solder a little thin wire over the missing part (the same problem like your :)). The wire should be as thin as possible, otherwise it won't fit in the socket. Since then the bulb works without an issue.
Repairing a bulb, that's ridiculous, what do you mean you couldn't find one? Any auto parts store or Amazon or eBay, even WalMart have them. It's an industry standard bulb. I mean maybe if you live in Siberia or something, even then you could still buy one online and have it delivered.
You don't need any trim removal tool. You can easily crack the taillight, or scratch the paint, if you use this type of tool. Inside of the trunk, in the right compartiment there is a plastic stick, with screwdriver head. You just have to use a screwdriver and push the plastic stick, and the taillight will loose it's plastic suport.
Thank you for the video. It was super helpful and so nice to see another 2010 Tiguan on UA-cam
Straight to the point!!
👍🏻👍🏻

Super helpful! I have a 2014 Tiguan and the manual is a joke. I was only able to do it by myself with this video. Thanks!!
Glad to hear that!
Nice video, clear sound and good narration!
