Every time I hear the Firebird it brings me to tears. My good friend in high school played the opening solo. Last year when my son’s middle school joined the high school band for their first performance on the field they too played the Firebird. He was in the 8th grade and his band teacher asked me why I was so emotional (I had tears running down my face0, and I explained that my good friend who played the opening solo for our band had died the day before. I had no idea the high school was doing that piece. Music is more powerful than any one who doesn’t play it can ever imagine.

Saw my first DCI competition as a freshman in high school in 1978 and was hooked for life, still remember that lineup for that show , it made such a huge impact, will forever be a SCV and a huge fan of Madison !

I was in marching band in the 80s and absolutely loved it, the bands were huge and the music was tough, my kids went through the same high school marching band and they were juht half the size and the music seemed easier and the sets were not as complicated, but DCI has never failed to thrill me.

All great performances and a great list. respectfully, the 1992 Scouts from the frum feature to the end is one of the greatest finale's ever. 1991 Star also is incredible. And an honorable mention to ethe 1992 Crossmen, the Rainforest is also great.
