    It's spelled "Chiang Kai-Shek". Not 'Chang'; and 'Kai-Shek' is hyphenated... just saying. Anything worth doing, is worth doing correctly.

      it originates from the fact during the change they would check their guns in front of each other to make sure everything is in order, it kind of evolved from there, if you watch the american tomb of the unknown soldier they do it in a much more practical way
