Profundo II - 64 more patches for Novation Peak, firmware 2.0+
Profundo II is a set of sounds for the Novation Peak focusing on complex and evolving modulations. You will not find any basses or percussion in this bank. What you will find are:
- 19 pads
- 38 keys / poly
- 3 arps
- 4 SFX
Many of the patches utilize the capabilities Novation added in firmware 2.0, for example: animate envelopes, stereo spacing, phaser, noise as a modulation source, new delay types.
Most of the patches utilize the mod wheel, aftertouch, and animate buttons.
No external FX, compression or EQ have been applied.
Please note: you must have firmware 2.0 (or greater) installed on your Peak to use these patches.
You can purchase the set for $10 USD from either Payhip or Etsy:
payhip.com/b/lpzIW
www.etsy.com/listing/1662847221/profundo-ii-64-more-patches-for-novation
If you wish to buy both Profundo I and II, the combined full bank of 128 patches can be purchased for $16 USD:
payhip.com/b/etPaG
www.etsy.com/listing/1662869749/profundo-i-ii-128-patches-for-novation
Also compatible with Novation Summit.
This demo includes 32 of the patches. I'll produce a demo of the others in the future.
If any synth manufacturers would like to commission me to produce factory patches for upcoming products, leave a comment, and we'll get in touch.

Waldorf Microwave XT soundscape #5

A local musician was looking into getting a Digitone, so I loaned him mine for a week to try it out. In exchange he loaned me his Waldorf Microwave XT. It's a bit of a classic, so I was very excited to get a hands on with it. I've recorded a few freeform explorations with the synth going through BigSky for some added reverb. The granular shimmer effect that begins half way in is from the Superc...

I think your video is great, but lacks info in where you purchased the rails from. A link in the video doscription would have been geeat. An also some ideas on the sizes.like myself i am only just beginning with modular and the DIY approach is the way i am starting obviously to cut costs. But i am finding size is hard to figure. Some link to some particular plan with size of the rails and wood to cut in mm's no inches.
Thanks for the comment. I bought the rails and side brackets from here: modularsynthlab.com/product-category/diy-eurorack-case/eurorack-rails/84-hp-eurorack-rails/?v=7516fd43adaa I didn't include that link in the description though, because they're kind of expensive, so I think you can find cheaper options if you look around. Regarding measuring and plans - the best thing I can recommend is to build it out of cardboard first, that way you can get a good idea of the size you'll want for your wood. It's best to measure directly with the rails and a module in place, as I showed in the video, rather than trying to get an accurate measurement in advance. It's very hard to get that exactly right. Hope this helps.
@craig_z that's great. Thanks for the tip with cardboard. I am still in the process of building the modules. I will wait till I have those finished, and I can measure them up for the size of the box I need. I am currently building a clouds clone.
Real cool stuff
Thank you!
these are very good patches, well done
Thank you!
Nice work 👏💙
Thank you! If you guys ever release a new poly synth and need factory patches, I'd be happy to help.

Soooooo good 😉
Thank you!

What's new with you these days Hilly? Send me an email if you get a chance, would be good to catch up.
Fine explorations! Cool sounds!
Very honest and serious question for you. .. I am the Waldorf XT before, I have been wondering what is the sound defense between the Waldorf orange xt & the blofeld?
It's hard to put into words. They definitely do sound quite different to me, even though they both use most of the same wavetables which were inherited down from the PPG, and early Waldorf synths. The XT kind of has this "fuzz" in the high frequencies that I really like, which the Blofeld does not. Blofeld has a third oscillator though...
@@craig_z sorry I do have a few more questions. Is the blowfish hold have the same parameters as the q... I owned both Waldorf XT and the q both I regret selling quite a bit as it was a very long time ago even though I mainly an FM synthesis synthesis guy SY77.... DO YOU THINK IT IS CONVERTERS? Does the blofeld to sound thinner to you?
Never owned or used the Q, so can't help there. I think any synth can sound thin if you just take a basic waveform and do nothing with it.
I own a XTK 30-voice. I've owned the Blofeld. Honestly? To me the Blofeld is a piece of plastic crap that soundwise doesn't even come near a Waldorf MW I/II/XT/K or Q. (I own a Q 32 voice too) Is a Blofeld therefor not usable? Certainly not. It's what you expect from a synth... But the Blofeld misses the bite, the nastiness from an XT, Microwave or Q. To me, it's like Waldorf real last synths were the XT and the Q, after that, their synths started sounding like VST's...
Love your work here, i am about to purchase a Novation Summit amd wondering would these load on it.
I think so. You can test it out though, I uploaded three of the patches for people to sample here: gearspace.com/board/showpost.php?p=16295434&postcount=4861
@@craig_z thanks a mill, i will check.
@@xntricity6446 Let me know if it works - would be great to know for certain!
@@craig_z i certainly will, i am ordering the summit in January and have your patches on my list.
I echo the comment of another user and say that I really like the subtleties in these patches. I would even add that they sound more refined than the ones I have heard from the "usual suspects" ;-)
That's really nice of you to say. I probably spent hundreds of hours working on these, so it's nice to see they are appreciated.
nice sounds. do I need firmware 2.0 for these to work on my peak? I have not installed the new version on my peak. I have been editing sounds from libraries and then saving them to my peak. I am afraid to update to new revision cause it might goof up some of the sounds I saved.
You need at least 2.0 - I would definitely choose 2.1 though, as it has important bugfixes that they found in 2.0. The firmwares are backwards compatible, so your sounds that you've saved will still work. You should still back them up either in Novation Components or download to your computer though.
wonderful patches!
I appreciate that!
Beautiful and subtle work
I very much appreciate that.
How did you find the learning curve? I love the sound of them! also how did it compare to the Blofeld?
If you've used Waldorf synths before, or any wavetable synth, I think it's pretty easy to get going straight away on the XT. The only non-inuitive part for me were the envelopes, which are quite complex on the XT (IIRC, they are 8-stage envelopes). I love the sound of the XT also, though I was not a fan of the filter on it. Comparing to the Blofeld, the XT has a simpler architecture, and most parameters are accessible directly, which is one thing that I dislike about my Blofeld (the menu diving). I really enjoyed solowly tweaking the "wave" knob on the XT and finding the subtle tones living inside each of the wavetables. The Blofeld actually has all the same wavetables (plus a few extras, IIRC), but ti's a bit more difficult to explore them on that machine, and the tone is a bit different.
