    • @compphysgeek
      @compphysgeek Місяць тому

      no, that's handlebar steering, for maneuvering at slow speeds as mentioned. The counter steering he mentions is indeed a push left to go left and vice versa. But I would only use that method in emergencies when I need to avoid a sudden obstacle. Normally I would just lean to the side I want to turn. Because the reaction of the bike can be significant to only a small push when counter steering. As far as I understand it it's got to do with conservation of angular momentum. when you push left the bike turns left in an effort to conserve angular momentum. that's at least what my driving instructor told me.

    Am i wrong for this or isn't it bad if You're using your front brake when cornering you should use your back brake because it'll get you fucked up by using the front one when cornering

    • @aoyuki1409
      @aoyuki1409 Місяць тому

      to drive safe: brake before entering the corner. use both front and brakes to drive fast like on a track or something: use both brakes but brake harder with the front and softer with the rear, as you lose velocity slowly shift the pressure from front to rear. when you're fast and you brake hard with front brakes your weight shift forward and apply a ton of weight onto the front tires making it grip like hell, but it also makes rear tires not grip. but when you lose velocity the weight shift is lower and gravity came back to being the stronger force pushing you down, you use the rear brakes to prevent accidentally locking the front tires

    I don't always go into neutral and I actually do this exact same thing nobody taught me this I just thought that having my hands-free from the front brake made sense for when the throttle is needed at a moment's notice. only time I go into neutral is for when I go into certain intersections which I know the light would take forever because it's an Antiquated timer traffic computer.

  • @Soeks77
    @Soeks77 Місяць тому

    I always go into neutral lmao that’s one easy way to wear out your throw out bearing, and your left hand, by holding in the clutch. It’s something new riders do it’s unnecessary.

    • @keegantrainor1908
      @keegantrainor1908 Місяць тому

      Most motorcycles use wet clutches with multiple plates that do not use throwout bearings. Keeping your hand on the clutch is completely harmless and much safer when sitting in traffic where you may need to move quickly.

    • @NYKingRider
      @NYKingRider 2 місяці тому

      Thanks! Yeah, I totally agree that it's quite nimble! Which bike do you have as the first one? Also, if you have enough experience I'd suggest street triple rs. It's still quite nimble but slightly more powerful and interesting to ride.

    I’m a big guy(weight wise) 315lbs and i’m 5’9” with short legs. I was curious could I ride a Triumph street Triple 765 or like a honda cb650r and ride it from Georgia to Washington state?

    • @NYKingRider
      @NYKingRider 2 місяці тому

      I think you could. There are 2 prerequisites though: 1. To have enough experience for such a long trip (I'd say at least msf course + 1000 miles on roads) 2. To plan the trip properly and include quite a lot of stops. In general, I don't think these bikes are that good for such a long trip, but if you don't have any other option - it's definitely doable ;)

      @@NYKingRider thank you! Much appreciated! The reason I don’t really want an adventure bike or cruiser or anything like that is because i also only plan on daily driving sometimes and to take short trips to visit my friend who lives 2hrs away. I want to do the roadtrip for a once in a lifetime thing. Is there any bikes that still suit what i’m looking for that are closer to looks like the cb650r and strs? I am going to do the courses and i’m going to practice a lot. I just want to visit washington state due to how green it is and visit the northwest, haha.

    • @NYKingRider
      @NYKingRider 4 місяці тому

      I agree with you, but only for experienced riders. For riders with small experience the best decision is to go through the turn with a steady speed. General pattern should be “slow down before the turn, go steady or faster in the turn and never slow down in the turn”. For inexperienced riders going faster in the turn may have bad consequences if they pull the throttle too much and/or do not have traction control, etc.

    • @NYKingRider
      @NYKingRider 4 місяці тому

      From another thought, if you meant accelerating only after the second part of the turn, then I fully agree with you. But again, for inexperienced riders it should be slight acceleration.
