You never know how reliable the referral is, or if they have an agenda. You also don’t know if that surgeon has expertise and your specific procedure or some other area. Will you recommend getting Tummy Tuck, BBL , beast lift Augmentation with implant and lipo in the thigh and J-plasma ? At the same time, I got scheduled for everything but I am freaking out . Because I feel like is way to much , I am pretty sure it will takes 7-9hrs help me please what do you think I should I do . Please. Thanks!
That’s a surgery we routinely do. I don’t personally believe J-plasma provides any benefit, particularly in the setting of skin removal. , if this is 360 Lebo, then the time appears correct. If it’s not 360 lipo, the surgery time implies the surgeon is inefficient and thus higher risks may be associated like greater blood loss and need for transfusion. The surgeon should be doing that type of surgery one to two times a week. With that length of surgery, it’s generally recommended that you stay overnight in an accredited facility.
Amen! Wouldn’t have any other surgeon to reconstruct my breasts! Don’t settle for just anyone.

I still don't understand why you shouldn't have a panniculectomy. What is your reasoning? You say that the pictures online are of tummy tucks. Okay, but why not have removal of skin and fat without touching the muscles? Some of us just want to remove the sagging skin/fat that fold over and not looking to wear a bikini just getting this extra flabbiness gone!
A tummy tuck is significantly different surgery from a panniculectomy, much more than just muscle tightening. The whole point of this is that a panniculectomy cannot be done with a good cosmetic outcome if you’re not able to remove all of the extra skin. A panniculectomy only removes skin below the belly button and if done correctlly, the scar should be some distance below the belly button and not directly on it. As a result, most surgeons try to remove additional skin and the scar ends up directly below the belly button and a very visible area but with loose skin around and above the belly button. If someone is OK with leaving 75% of the loose skin on their abdomen, then it’s an acceptable procedure. Unfortunately, most women are not happy with that outcome after it’s done.
@@drsamercabbabe Thank you for your response. Personally, I don’t care where the scar is. I just want the loose skin and hanging fat removed. I want the surgery to be the least invasive as possible, so repairing the muscles seems like an over kill to me.

Dr. Did a Penneculectomy with a fleurdelis cut on me. But did not take any additional fat from the sides. My incision is opening and I’m almost three weeks post op. I still have a drain tube that’s still put out 60-50 every 12 hours.

After doing my research, I understood very well that it was not a tummy tuck and would not give me those results; however, the surgeon I found said he would do a little more work to make it look the best it could with a panniculectomy, so I was very impressed with that response
Surgeons should always do the best they can with any procedure. unfortunately, I see a lot of problems when surgeons try a little harder to get the results that’s needed. This includes floating the belly button, removing the bellybutton or placing very high scars under the belly button in order to remove more skin, when really a tummy tuck is needed. These procedures often end in revision surgery, 2 recoveries and high costs.

Now im relaxing and recovering from surgery. I have IV cord drainage on me. I have to go back to the hospital take the IV drain. So i don't know what the nurse going to do next?

I have been trying to get my insurance to cover my skin removal after losing over 100 pounds and the Dr said they will not cover it and I'm not wanting to get it done. I'm so afraid I'm not planning on having a beautiful Beach body but after losing all this weight I don't want to be botched😢😢😢 😢😢😢 I have been following you for a couple of years now and wish I could have you do my surgery. I need a tummy tuck, arm lift and medial thing lift, and truth be told a breast lift. I'm have so much lose skin it's crazy.
Sorry to hear that. Unfortunately insurance doesn’t want to cover anything that they don’t have to. Many years ago they used to cover these procedures, but it’s very difficult to do so now. We’d love to help you, these are very complex procedures and if they’re not done correctly, and in the correct sequence, revisions are needed (and we see a whole lot of them around the country).
I lost about 80 lbs after lipo, weight loss and exercise. My middle section was very saggy. I had a huge, hanging apron and a deflated upper belly area as well. My surgeon had to perform a fleur de lis and submitted it through my insurance, BCBS. He took photos and sent an explanation with the authorization request. He made the process so seamless, plus my scar is fading beautifully 😍

Nobody wants a vertical incision and we don’t do them if they’re not needed. This patient would’ve been disappointed/botched if she didn’t have an FDL. There is a dirty little secret in Plastic Surgery: most plastic surgeons are afraid to do them, and have never even done one in their career because the complication rate is very high (skin necrosis) if they don’t know how to do them correctly/have experience. We see patients from all over the country regularly who needed FDL and didn’t have them for revisions. Photographs of these patients are only shown shortly after surgery in the upright position when they’re swollen, and the excess residual skin/visible creasing and folding doesn’t occur until at least a few months after surgery. When they bend over, their skin touches in the middle. I’ll post an example of one I just converted to an FDL for that reason in the next couple weeks on my Instagram or UA-cam page.

Dr. Cabbabe, I live in St. Louis but recently traveled to Chicago to have a MMO on May 22. I actually ended up with a Panniculectomy with muscle repair and aggressive lipo. I am 3 days shy of 2 weeks post op. I still have the drain in. I am hovering @ 90 cc a day of dark fluid which I am guessing is a seroma. I am concerned about this after watching your video. I also have necrosis which I will be seeing a wound specialist on Wednesday. Can you give me any guidance and if possible can I contact your office to get an appointment with you?
That is very concerning for hematoma and you may need surgery to evacuate. We recommend you follow up with your plastic surgeon regarding these significant complications to discuss next steps.

During a Tummy Tuck is it uncommon to lipo the upper and mid abdominal area? I want my waist tighter and I’m going for a revision next week.
Most surgeons won’t lipo that area because they use conventional techniques which lead to higher rates of necrosis. We routinely do lipo those areas because we’ve developed cutting edge techniques that allow us to do it.
I am having my panniculectomy next Wednesday I am gladly keeping my belly button, I dont care where the scar is as long as it resolves my skin issues I will be happy & thankful for my insurance coverage. Not everyone is seeking cosmetic results 🫶🏼

My doctor used traditional lipo, no heat, and I still got a bad lipo burn. Does that mean he was too aggressive and damaged the skin?

If they are not elective it means that the patient is having the surgery for a medical reason. Those patients have higher complication rates with those surgeries also, so it’s not OK. Orthopedic surgeons are prevented from doing surgery on patients with BMI over 35 at a major medical center in Saint Louis for this reason.
This is really crazy since the highest number of cardiac arrest occurrences happen during general anesthesia in a setting where board-certified licensed doctors are performing surgery🤔, I’m wondering why a medical professional that knows the data would purposely skew this fact.?
Very misleading statement. Those are not healthy plastic surgery patients undergoing elective plastic surgery, those are sick patients having urgent procedures. Please share this data if you are going to present it.

Do you mean 100 cc's per day for weeks (both drains combined ie. 52cc's from left + 50 cc's from right) or 100 cc's per week total?
Any large amount over 50 cc is a good indication you will develop a seroma.
What about having a drain put back in?
I had breast conserving surgery and then radiation. I had sooooo much edema and ultrasound showed seroma.
Very common after lumpectomy. The best way to do a lumpectomy is with an oncoplastic reconstruction, where a plastic surgeon is involved, and then a reduction/lift on the other side for symmetry. One and done, best cosmetic result, and lowest risk of complications.
I would love to have a paniculectomy done, but I have a blood disorder and take Coumadin and have for 19years after have a pulmonary amniotic embolism during the birth of my son. Do you think I should try to have one?
That’s a tough one, not sure it’s worth the risk.
Can I ask you doctor/surgeon.. How did you gain the experience? You said it needed hundreds of surgeries.. Essentially practice runs then, on live patient's.. Are you heavily supervised? Or is it more like that saying about omelettes and cracking eggs? Or well, more accurately cracking asses lol.
