The Twisted Swing Big Band is a community big band made up of Hampden/Bangor area musicians and is hosted by RSU22 at Reeds Brook Middle School in Hampden, ME. Our mission is to not only provide some much needed "chop time" for the band members, but more importantly, to inspire younger generations of jazz musicians and support local music programs. We are an extension of a summer jazz program offered at Reeds Brook Middle School that is geared toward beginning/intermediate players. The summer jazz program is an open door rehearsal group that meets during the summer break. In contrast, the Twisted Swing Big Band is an invitational group for more advanced musicians performing a wide variety of incredible jazz music. We always welcome any musicians that would like to get on our sub list, please feel free to contact us if you are interested.
