Opossums just maxed out on scare tactics but are in reality quite harmless in comparison to other north American wildlife. They're all bark and rarely ever bite, most times when they're threatened they faint and release a nasty smell that deters predators.

I don't mean to do this but possums and opossums are different animals. Possums don't share the same territory as bobcats

I live on a preserve, and I have a bobcat that comes after dark and sleeps on my roof at night. We suspect because I live in sweltering Florida and we have two water fountains in a preserve with no water feature. Bobcats definitely DO eat possum, because we found the carcass of one not too far from the house (along with a number of vultures). I’d rather not know the outcome of this particular encounter; if the bobcat decided to attack, the possum(s) would likely not survive. 🫤
