I lost my girl Athena who I took from 80cm to Intermediate in January 2023. I now have a 4yr old Ex Racehorse called Archie who I purchased from the trainer in April 2023. I have posted videos of Athena at competitions on here, but I want to vlog Archie’s journey as a way of keeping track of what we are doing & being able to see how far we’ve come. I hope others in the same boat find some help from these videos ☺️
Pole clinic at home for my 5yr old ex-racer
I arranged a day for the lovely Lynsey Richardson to come to the yard and do a pole clinic for us. All done in pairs and we were with the lovely Emma (Archies physio) and Ronnie.
Looking back at my first vlogs with Archie going along to pole clinics, my word has the kid improved :0)

It's been a while but back between the white boards! Two new tests to learn as well, Prelim 1 & 3 and trust me when I say they are harder than the previous tests we had to do! Thrilled with our percentage mark at the end :0) #exracehorse #younghorsetraining #dressage #valeviewequestrian #equestrian
A lesson with a new person

We were meant to be going to Barrowcliffe XC but due to the obscene amount of rain we have had in the UK the course was closed, therefore we re-routed over to Team Jones for a Showjumping session. This was all under the watchful eye of Kerry Varley. Kerry has ridden a 15.1hh around Burghley 5* on more than on occasion so she knows her stuff! The kid did not disappoint once again :O) #equestrian...

Took our kid Archie back to Aylesford Equine where we met up with Jess and Franco from Heebie Jeebies and one other surprise guest :0) Do we see an improvement compared to his first trip there a couple of months ago???? #equestrian #exracehorse #retrainingofracehorses #jumping #horse #5yrold

Excellent guys
Well done Ali and Archie ❤
What an absolute dude. Well done ❤❤
Your horse is so well muscled ! What was the reason for back shoes ? My horse is about to get back shoes but he had a suspensory injury that’s why
OMG. He was amazing. What a clever boy. Grids are a priceless part of training. Well done both you and Archie. MASSIVE thanks to Kennie!!! for filming this exercise for us.
How good was he with the grey cantering around him? It did not alter his focus. (Ps. I hope you are well now) 😊

Only three minutes in and I am just saying to myself “he is is just beautiful” . I can’t be the only one who thinks this. (And he is fluffy) ❤
UA-cam assumed that this would be the video that I would like to watch today. UA-cam was correct. Archie is looking great. How nice to have a clinic at home.
Dear Archie!🐎You really do work so well together💖 and definitely earned those sausage rolls, "picky bits" and cake-please count me in for next time, it all sounds wonderful! Thank you for sharing your day with us!😊
Good tests and results, once he is more settled in his mouth the scores will be even better, he seemed much more relaxed in the second test and looks really well, I bet you are buzzing that the kid done you proud 🎉🎉
Oh you Dear Lady! That was absolutely frightful-I can't "unsee" it now! "Sticky Bum" Jodhs or not, nobody's got a chance of staying onboard after that😂!Do hope you've not suffered any lasting damage?❤
@@Pikachu_TwentyFive i am absolutely fine, bruised foot 🦶 and a bit sore but nothing lasting thankfully 😅
Omgoodness, hope you're ok. Can you ask them to warm the water for him next time 🤔😅
@@hazelrudland1643 🤣🤣🤣
Think he was pleased with what he just done ❤
Oh dear Lord. I hope you are ok. That was an absolute whopper. Little shit 🤫
@@Golden1989-days 😂 I wanted him to canter through the water 💦 and as he came out it must have caught his freshly clipped belly 😂 I do hurt though! Hot bath 🛀 needed
@ Bloody long way down isn’t it 🥺 and I think if you hadn’t parted ways he was about to grow another blinder. So much power from the back end especially with his head still up 😱 But the positive is that he does have a very free and supple back. He threw an amazing arc Cindy he🤫 So I think his punishment this week needs to be that his physio allowance is to be spent on you ❤️
@ 😂 thankfully I cancelled my sports massage on Monday as I was having him clipped ready for this yesterday, so it’s rearranged for next week phew 😮💨 it shall be needed 😂
Sorry. I should have corrected the corrector. Should have read THROW another blinder
Oh and amazing arc DIDNT HE. grrr
Well done team 🎉
Nicely done, more than respectable 1st test!! 🎉🎉 and thank you for not putting music over it!! I'd rather hear the horses, announcers, general ambience. 😊
Such a pleasure following you and Archie.❤ I'd be over the moon happy with the day. He's growing up and handling the environment so well. Anything regarding the tests is just a very talented baby developing! Love his swing and elasticity!!! He's got beautiful gates and you have done an amazing job shaping his mind! Up, up, up and onwards!
@@AnnieOakley-downthetrail thank you so so much ❤️
My Thoroughbred definitely preferred a double jointed snaffle. I did start riding him in a soft rubber bit to give him more confidence in his bit and then switched to the double jointed snaffle. Thoroughbreds can have a low palate. Edited to add that this is my very first video of the day. Starting the day with Archie is always great.
Fab vlog. 🇮🇪☘️💚Such a trier.
Well done guys... thought the C/L scores were a bit mean in the first test. Looked straight to me! ❤
@@HeebieJeebiesEventing yeah me to! I was super chuffed with that C/L because he’s only a baby and keeping straight is hard so I was a tad disappointed with that mark 🩷
@righthoofforward6718 should have gone to specsavers judges 😅😅
@ 🤣 she did have glasses on 🤓
Test 2. He looked as though he was accepting the bit kindly. He was gently mouthing it throughout. Slight resistance into canter and I guess a little strung out in canter but what an absolute dream boy. He is just so lovely.
@@Golden1989-days thank you 🙏🏻 I definitely have a blockage on the left rein so I’m getting a different dentist to take a look at his teeth in just over a week just in case he has any discomfort 🙂
@ That will be interesting. And I bet you’ll really benefit from a dressage saddle, just helps with leg placing doesn’t it. But he is such a good boy and really “growing up” now. He is mature in so many ways for a baby ❤️
@ I can not wait to get a dressage saddle. I’ve been trying to win one 😂 it’s will help loads! He’s fussy in the mouth no matter what bit I put in (all soft) so it will be interesting to see what this chap says when we see him. He’s an expert and not cheap but Archie’s worth it ☺️
@@righthoofforward6718 Look forward to hearing all your progress 😃
@ 🤞
Well done Ali and Archie🐎💖! That was a brilliant performance,(especially as you had to remember so much), and both of you looked so smart🌟 Thank you for sharing your adventures with us!😊
First test. Well done. I thought they were a little harsh score wise when you take together with their comments. He was a star ❤
@@Golden1989-days thank you ☺️
What an interesting lesson! That kept you both thinking 😊 I’d love the opportunity to do a similar lesson with my boy.
Beautiful🐎💖
Great work 👏
Coming. On a treat be better once you have a dressage saddle ❤
What did you think to yourself when you saw him hip hopping around like that? 😊
I knew he hadn't been ridden for 10wks and had just been going on the horse walker for half an hour a day, so I could understand him going nuts when let loose :0) little did I know he would do it whilst I was on him though haha
Looking good buddy ❤
He’s such a big lad. He just steps over them jumps. He has such a nice attitude to his work and he is fair coming on ❤
Great lesson! Archie's amazing journey from when you first started to now is very impressive ! Do share all the info on the fitness and gallops ! I'm a bit clueless on that subject too!!
You’re not alone ❤
Looking wonderful with Dear Archie as always🐎💖Thank you for taking us along too and best of luck for the dressage🌟👍!
It's always good to catch up with you and Archie. He's such a mega horse.
Yup. You could see him begin to swish his tail and his ears started to “droop” bless him. It was a very active session. Great work though. 👏👏👏
Great vlog ❤
good at throwing some shapes ,love to get him on the dance floor ?
❤
Mine did this today, bucking and squealing....wouldn't mind but they go out everyday, it was like he was trying to say he had been kept in for a week 😅😅😅 nice to see them enjoying themselves though.
He soon learn that they won’t hurt him xx
You both look wonderful!🐎💖
Nice sunset, but also 😭 til the end of Feb x
