I live a pretty exciting life and I love taking people along on my adventures. My dad and brother have teamed up with me to produce "UA-cam" worthy content, it's under the name SteBros. This channel is going to be more of a vlog about me and my family. I'll do my best to show how we get into these hard to reach spots, sometimes simply forgotten or absolutely unheard of. So if you want to come along and watch a young family wrestle their kids, please subscribe and hit that notification tab.

This isn't a direction that we're going to go on this channel, its just something we're adding. Most of our content will continue to be exciting and adventerous. This time we switch valleys and go explore my home turf, the Coquihalla. In this episode we explore Carolin Mines. We go over a brief history and how to get to the mine. To my knowledge the mine is abandoned with no attempts to re-open it. Access was non-restricted. Along for the journey is Jer Steb ua-cam.com/channels/QcmkQXxq-AIViQ18iV2CkA.html?app=desktop And Wes Phibbs ua-cam.com/users/Cana...

VHF "TH 9000D" Install for truckers and adventurers
Переглядів 6342 роки тому
Everyone should have a VHF radio in their vehical if they're driving out on a Forest service road or on the highway. We've found this radio works great and its $400.00 cheaper than anything else. Here's a short install and discription of what the radio offers. It has a range of 40 miles. Email: steberl.industries@gmail.com

Fun adventure! Excellent photography! Take care
I think I played this game in Half Life 2
8:38 Cheers Brother
As a time when I was a younger man I to was challenged to live up to values expected to follow and obey . God may not laugh at my plan. Handle the "things" that challenge your character your life.
The birds were very happy to have you two visit them. Great video Sir thank you.
Very cool video. Very well filmed. Not sure I could have walked underneath that bridge?
Fantastic video! Thanks for sharing
wow that makes me dizzy . great video.
The fake bird audio ends it for me.
That’s the sound of springtime in the Fraser Valley
Saved me a walk. Thanks.
Good video. Thanks.
I've driven over that bridge countless times, and I had no idea there was a stair/ladder under it. Thanks Matt.
Fraser canyon is an amazing area, rich with history.
Nice work. I have crossed that bridge hundreds and hundreds of times and never seen that perspective. I have to stop and walk around more instead of just blazing up and down the hwy.
INTERESTING VIDEO. USING AN EXTREME WIDE ANGLE LENS ADDS TO THE DRAMA PLUS DRAMATIC MUSIC . GOOD JOB!!!
i love finding the old sections of the cariboo highway rock walls and road
beautiful...thank you!
love the canyon...always been my favourite part of BC
Sup with the bird sounds? 😂
How do you get thr vhf channels to work in the radio
I know that the old highway exits besides the China Bar Tunnel, been there many times. Sad that the road is starting to erode. You know that the road you see beside the tunnel is the old highway? I am dumb founded why you climed through the tunnel to get to the old highway. ua-cam.com/video/yCdD6HsXyws/v-deo.html
You started on the Alexandra Bridge, 12 miles west of Boston Bar.
More like south of Boston Bar
what street and cross streets is it on
Williams and princess
Thanks Matt, as someone who went to Cross Connection Church I feel a bit better seeing what happened at various points in time as I am not in Chilliwack anymore i could not see it in person. Once again, Thank You.
My dad preached there many times. We lived in Richmond and he pastored at faith evangelical missionary Church, we came out to Chilliwack to go to chairs camp. I really liked it and live close by now. God has a plan for them I'm sure.
@@mattsteb1848 I’m sure he has an excellent plan for the rest of the church community and i hope none of them takes this and twists it into something horrible.
Nicely done footage my friend scenic for sure 🍺👌
Thanks, Sully
Careful now, could be noxious fumes at the bottom...
Maybe if it was tied into sanitary but this was strictly a storm, with both ends open to the air. I guess I could use the noxious fumes sniffer that we use at work for confined space next time just to be sure.
2:33 about fuel prices; why don't you get a smaller car instead of big gas guzzling truck?
It's Diesel, and the maintenance is low. I bought it for my construction company. I'm not going to be driving it as often anymore for my UA-cam. It is very nice to use to gain access into a lot of hard to reach places, but I have other options available to me. Next video you'll see the delica.
@@mattsteb1848 I get 35mpg on my crappy honda sedan. Your truck gets what? 12mpg on diesel? I'm just saying the reason gas is so high is so many trucks on the road sucking up a disproportionate amount of fuel. Imagine if we all drove cars; there would 40% less demand on gas and the price would drop. Basic supply demand theory. Cars actually subsidize the price of gas because if we ALL drove trucks gas would be like $3. Thanks for the video. It was very good.
My truck actually gets 18mpg, if I were to delete it I would get even better. The only reason I have it is because I use it for work. I can't put a 450L fuel tank and tools in the back of my Rav 4 or the electric Kona. Because it's a white work truck, construction flaggers will let me go through road blocks, it came in very handy during the flood. A little gas car won't perform to the demand I need it to. All the weight I have in tools and fuel for work would destroy the engine and suspension in any car or lite truck. I appreciate your comments and enjoy talking with you about this. When it comes to my vehicles, the diesel truck is a necessary evil, I have other options that I'll be using in the future.
Thanks for the 4k quality. Looks fantastic.
I try to do all my videos in 4k, I figured out the settings finally and I'll continue this quality.
How far do the signals travel among all those BC hills and valleys?
Around 7km, weather dependent. Sunny days are worse because your ceiling is much higher than if it's a cloudy day.
I was working evening shift security/first aid at the mine the night that a Fisheries officer and a C/O arrived in a state of high agitation, stating that the Coquihalla River was full of thousands of dead smolts. The reason was not immediately apparent, but since cyanide was used in the late stages of extraction of the gold and it lay stacked in the mill building in neat rows of sacks, looking for all the world like bags of cement... The first aid room stocked ampules of Amyl Nitrite, treatment for cyanide poisoning.
Wow, that's nuts
@@mattsteb1848 Interesting tidbit: you know how at the store, bags of flour always seem to have a bit of the white dust leaking at the seams? Those stacked bags of cyanide had a little cobalt blue dust, obviously leaked from THEIR seams. I stayed away from that.
That's scary
Also thank-you stebros for doing drone shots for us while we got to climb around.
They look so good, I'll pass that on if he hasn't seen it already
@@mattsteb1848 yes he got some great shots "We are on a time crunch!"
Awesome man. Relived the trip this morning with your video. I still need to get mine up. I can't believe you went back already. I'm jealous for sure. I see you guys installed the seats in the truck. Loved the intro and the banter along the way. Of course I was in it so I'm biased.
I'm in the process of uploading the footage to the Dropbox, if you need anything else let me know. We gotta go up there again together
@@mattsteb1848 awesome ty re the footage. And babyllama wants to come next time as well.
I hope so
I’ve been down there. Cool spot indeed
Yep, it's a cool one. It's crazy how you can miss some really cool spots when you go there so often.
totally, i live pretty close, unfotunatley our town is blanketed in smoke at the moment
@@vespertimshady5510 I grew up outside of Hope, the rainy season can't come soon enough
What an adventure! The opening scene was a fun bit of theatre! Keep ‘‘em coming.
Yeah, we had some fun with that. The first 5 seconds need to grab you.
Lived there my whole young life and never explored that bridge. Glad you found the drone!
Definitely gotta stop and check it out, real easy to get there
Awesome man. I still never did go on any adventures with you guys yet, but that looked so cool. Does it fill up if it rains? Lol
When you're around next we'll do something. The tunnel doesn't fill up at present because the intake is super plugged up. We'll need to let Allan know when we go he knows these spots well.
@@mattsteb1848 Sounds good! Would still love to!
Very cool, Matt! Is this the Johnson Creek culvert, which runs from the forest fire suppression camp and under the highway and railway, coming out behind the garden centre? If not, there’s another one to explore!
This is that one
Awesome, and yes it does come out behind the garden center
Must get scary whenever a train passes overhead.... I searched the area, last time I was here and couldn't find anything at the Haig Forestry base...but then again, I didn't go too far into the yard. This "tunnel" must be close to a mile long...
130 years of history there
When I do the full deep dive on it I'll need to have you interviewed, you'll remember things that I'd miss
I can't believe this exists! So interesting - thanks for sharing! When I'm it Hope next I might have to give you a ring :)
For sure Steve, I'd be happy to show you where it is.
Buddy ya fuckin did it
It was a lot of fun
You say you are a bit afraid of heights . . . I had a hard time watching you up this high, my stomach was flip flopping, lol. Thanks for the video 👍
I just don't let my fear control my actions, it's the challenge that makes it exciting and worth doing.
That was amazing, how you tracked down your drone, Matt. (Looked like you were catching a crayfish, when you lifted it out of the water!) Quite the staircase under the bridge! Were you letting the drone auto-avoid the cross-members, or did you have to guide it?
It only has radar built into the bottom of the drone, that makes it an affordable drone. I have to fly it otherwise it just auto hovers.
Loved it. You know what my comments were while watching. Thanks for giving us a different view.
Always a pleasure
Wow! You are so brave!
I just love taking you guys to places you can't normally go to
Man the quality of this video is crap 😂 😘
Good things come to those who wait 🤣 be patient my 🥰❤️
Hey Matt make sure to tell your wife you need better equipment because your subs are complaining about the video quality... Haha
Cool vid, thanks Matt
Feel free to comment or ask questions
What the heck did you climb there? I’m assuming it’s a ventilation shaft for tunnel?
Great video!
Thanks
Wow, you are the bravest person I have ever watched, be careful and stay safe.
Thanks 😊
