Thats not a whipping post, Crucifixions were done on simple trees, posts, boards, crucifixes, etc.

Crucifixions were done on a crucifix. The idea that it was done on a pole or anything else is from a mistranslation in the bible from Hebrew to Greek, because Greek didn’t have a word for crucifix. So you are incorrect.

The idea it could have been on poles and others are from other historical sources, I also wouldn't really expect the romans to make a cross every time they needed to kill a rebel in Judea at that time... And that mistranslation would be from greek, aramaic, or hebrew TO english
