To complete the attack, Boba must survive the attack. If he dies in the attack, he doesn't complete it.
It’s a confusing ruling. Clearly he completed his attack in n the literal sense. For the game rules, when an ability is worded like that they have to survive the attack before it triggers. A way to understand it: the ability itself does not trigger until after the attack is completed. Boba is off the table “while” completing the attack. In the window where the ability would trigger Boba is off the table.
