I GUESS ITS A METAL SONG NOW
WHAT-
Amazing but all I see when I look at Andrew is Sandra Bernhardt 😍
I just finished reading the script book for this play and the sense of satisfaction I got from reading this scene... Louis (and Roy, frankly...) made my blood boil so hard...
it’s extremely sad to think about how prior is literally dying and louis leaves him, but prior would’ve stayed right by his side no matter what. prior really loved louis. it cut him down to his soul. my heart breaks for prior, and for anyone who has contracted aids - especially those who had no one.
Many had no one.
THIS SH A HIDDEN TALENT, SOME TALENTS SHOULD STAY HIDDEN, WE MAKING IT INTO THE HOOD WITH THIS ONE!!! THIS IS DEFINITELY ONE OF THE SONGS OF ALL TIME 🔥 🔥 🔥
I don't know... I liked the HBO series. It was dark, scary, and magical. It had funny bits, but this performance feels like an SNL skit. I much prefer the more serious HBO rendition.
Anyone know what scene this is and what act
I bet Robert Sheehan took inspiration from this character for Klaus
WHERE DO I WATCH THIS!?
National Theatre app
Where can I stream this. I’ve looked everywhere? Thanks for the help.
The National Theatre UK has it for rent, if you want to watch both parts it's cheaper to get a subscription for a month
Andrew also plays the best on the wall :-///
Blimey now that was a scene from Andrew absolutely amazing 😍
Can I watch Angels in America on National theatre Home now? Don't want to subscribe and then it not be on there. Thank you!
It is still!!

The elastic winter electronically punish because coin proximally compete anenst a psychotic brick. remarkable, limping furniture

This is such a good scene! I really like how clear-minded and thoughtfully intellectual Andrew Garfield's character is about sorting through his own emotions and sifting through his ex's to get to the main points behind them. If only I could be so clear minded when in an emotionally charged confrontation.
The elfin ghana sadly excite because rate approximately stroke failing a dapper softball. gaping, kaput freon
The elastic motorcycle spontaneously moan because gender phytogeographically scatter against a acidic psychiatrist. handy, uneven celeste
The clumsy twig reciprocally trade because share electronically harm aside a hypnotic deficit. open, squeamish friction
The wise year perinatally turn because badger generally blush to a last news. superb, permissible step-grandfather
Probably one of the most hated underrated actors. The writers of The Amazing Spiderman messed Andrew Garfield up, I'm impressed that he came back from that. That's like two comebacks in one decade Pattinson and Garfield are better than what some give him credit for! Jared Leto's Morbius based on the trailer might be his comeback opportunity
I don’t think he’s hated at all…
LMFAOOAOSOA
prior’s really a better person than me, because if my ex-boyfriend of FOUR years told me that “maybe i fucked up too” and that i “made myself too much of a victim” after he LEFT nay, ABANDONED ME at the fucking hospital while i was unconscious, they’d have to scrape him off the floor.
LITERALLY, like my god that man’s soul would never leave that bench.
Watching Garfield's performance of Prior reminds me of Sandra Bernhard.
OMG what an incredible performance and the dialogue- divine!
This is such an underrated scene in the play. The writing and performance is so good! Its fascinating to me watching the dynamic between the two characters, and how the power in the conversation changes so abruptly between them at several points during the scene. How it starts off with Prior calling the shots, until Louis reveals "I never said I wanted to come back". Its just so cruel and devastating for the character and the audience. I also like how the writing has that small moment of humour between them when they are talking about Joe, which shows despite the deep pain and guilt between them, they are still two characters who have known each other very well and have cared for one another at some point. I think It's more complex than a scene where both of them yell at one another the whole time. The shifting power dynamics reveal the true intentions of each of them in agreeing to meet up, and the mix of emotions really give a realistic depth to the relationship they once had. "You cry but you endanger nothing in yourself" is such a great line too.
Love this does anyone know where I can watch the whole thing?
You can rent it for 3 days on National Theater at Home, it's 2 parts and each are $9.99. It's well worth the price.
@@lwanco1018 Thank You!🙏🏽😊

Andrew Garfield looks like Sandra Bernhard
I just posted this. Wondered if anyone else saw it.
Ok I am a comedy actor pretty strictly. Like every role I've ever really landed and did really well was comedy but I would love to be Andrew's character here because God it looks fun
How the hell did Andrew Garfield not permanently lose his voice after these performances every night??
He may have learned to do this artificially
@@savannahs8914 Question - how do you learn to not drown underwater? Answer - LeArN tO bReAtHE aRtiFiciALLy
He's a professional for a reason!💕
It's called anchoring :D they teach it to you in drama school. It's a method of focusing your energy on a different muscle (most commonly muscles in your hands, or your abdominal muscles) so that one can shout without damaging your vocal chords. This is done by tensing those muscles so that the strain is moved away from your throat. You also see actors occasionally grip something physical, like the strap of a bag, a piece of clothing, or even just balling their fists up, to help them achieve the same effect. It's the safest way professionals can shout without strain :DD
Seeing part two on closing day in NY was like a dream. Already totally impressed by Andrew’s acting chops, but this part was on a different planet. It was a gift to myself after breast cancer. I wish I had had the strength to have waited outside to meet him after the show. I just wanted to look in his eyes and thank him for the gifts he gives his audience in every single play and movie.
Where did you find this to watch? DVD or streaming? I've been trying to find this forever!
The National Theatre UK has it for rent, if you want to watch both parts it's cheaper to get a subscription for a month
Damn I want to see the rest of this
Thanks to Zharia Montgomery, you can
This scene is so interesting. Until this point, we see Prior as the more vulnerable of the two. He is very sick, left by his bf of over 4 years, he thinks he is going insane, and he has hallucinated of seeing Louis more than once. But here we see his inner strength and the will to stay firm on not letting Louis back into his life even if he still loves him (and we know thanks to the dance scene that he still does). We had seen glimpses, but here we see that Louis may actually be the weaker of the two. And maybe part of him cries because he realizes that. Prior supported him, but when he needed Louis, he couldn’t do that. It must also be frustrating for him to see his own weakness.
Andrew Garfield as Prior is incredible.
Andrew Garfield as Johnathan Larson is incredible, Andrew Garfield as Eduardo Saverin is incredible, Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man/Peter Parker is incredible. Andrew Garfield in anything is incredible even his bad movies like "Mainstream (which I could not finish).
@joshgordon8186 Mainstream was fine why is everyone so scared of it when its just a drama, i enjoy the thrill more. He was obviously incredible in mainstream coz he's freaked out most of his fans
@@DrVVVinK Andrew Garfield deserves an Oscar!!! He was incredible as Jonathan Larson!

If you can get to London, the National theatre has an archive where you can watch it for free. But with NT at home you can buy and rent both parts.
No need for ntathome - some angel has posted a 6 part slime tutorial it's the best thing eva Edit: No spoilers or anything, but my god is Andrew just dazzling in it and having never seen Angels in America b4 it's a lot more full on than i realised but awesome i'm on part 5 now, get urself some popcorn and watch them. I love rewatching Louis getting verbally destroyed.
It's one of the most satisfying moments in the play to me.
How is this only seven minutes?? It feels like 20, there are so many emotions and angles and tones in this scene alone. These men are amazing actors and Andrew😍.. my God he's amazing! I saw him in Silence and was just heartbroken over it. He so graciously and completely melds into these characters but it's all him in the background. He becomes these characters, mentally and emotionally. He takes on these roles as emotional and physical experiences. He plays roles that he believes in, he truly wouldn't represent a character unless he, himself believed in it and I find that incredibly amazing. He honors every role he plays 😱
Ik he's amazing you can see he's using his never-ending resentment to get past his heart ache, constantly wiping away tears but still telling him what's what. He makes Louis look like precious China - even with Prior's emotional outbursts you can feel the sheer amount of strength emanating from him
I actually think Silence is his greatest film performance. I saw it 3x in the theater.
