Life Update: How's the New Job? What Else Have I Been Up to?
Great ideas. Thank you.
I love your work on the Mitten. So adorable.
I know this is three years ago, however I use the toy pinwheels that you could use in a garden to help them take those deep breaths. They’re all eager to try the breaths that way because we use conscious discipline in our classroom.
This exactly how I make my felt stories. I've got the count down songs like 5 little ducks, turtles, elephants, frogs, but also stories like Abiyoyo, Caps for Sale, I was walking down the road, Goldilocks, BINGO, Harry the dirty Dog and more. Still working on making more.
Thank you for giving such sound advice. I will use this in my journey . Your expertise Is appreciated.
Did the die cut machine cut through the felt?! That’s a great short cut!
LOVE!!! How do you get the laminated paper to stick to the popsicle sticks? I have tried hot glue, tacky glue, gorilla glue AND super glue. Nothing has worked!! The laminated paper pull right off 😩
What sorts of yes and no questions did you ask ?
For the mailing letters, what sort of content writing do they do ?

6:16 You mentioned journal writing as part of your unit studies and small groups. How do you facilitate this? I’d love a video on it that shares your tips and tricks for implementation!
I love the idea of providing materials to bind a book in the Writing Center! I provide lots of opportunities for my students to illustrate and write in that center, but did not have a way for them to physically turn it into a book. I am going to add this! As for having a variety of materials to write on, I have had issues with providing journals and note pads, since they are highly consumable supplies. I’ve found that (despite 1,000 reminders and modeled examples of how to use them appropriately) certain students will write on every page in one day! I cannot keep up with replacing them at the pace in which they are used. How did you avoid this when you were in the classroom, or what tips do you have to prevent this from happening?
Hi, thanks for this video. It was really helpful presentation and a really great idea. I want to create a short project for six year old children to make 'purposeful' mothers day presents . I have lots of felt, and small canvases. I have no velcro. I do have sandpaper though. If I stick the sandpaper to the canvas would it act like velcro?! I'm about to find out. ... It is difficult to obtain velcro in my area.
Nce and inspiring videos thanks

I’m so glad I found your channel. This writing topic is very interesting. You’ve got so many useful ideas and tips! As an educator I need meaningful activities for the kids to participate in, engage and learn. Do you have videos on planning and programming for preschoolers?
These are both brilliant. I’ll be playing these with my 5 yo. Thanks so much!
I think Question of the day can be challenging to make purposeful and also genuine. (Kids not just answering what a friend said) One thing I started this year was using a recordable button (bought on amazon) I record the question and then kids can come do it during Play Centers time. This way they can re-play the question and its not all done with waiting time during large group. Kids who didn't do it during play can do it during large group. I have a masking tape rectangle on my dry erase board and then name magnets.
I love hearing how other people do question of the day. Thanks for sharing!
Hello, I was sitting there wondering how I could get reach readers on social media. Then I thought maybe a puppet or felt story. I Google felt boards & stumbled across your videos. Thank you for all of your videos. I now know how to go about making my board for my series. God bless. 🎉

If it’s not too much consider adding links to description box where the places where the purchases can be made for items mentioned such as fabric paint, tennis ball etc. Fantastic video! ⭐️
Evan adelman ok😅
Very helpful thank you!
U r doing a great job...I love you 🎉
Thank you for the helpful tips and suggestions for using Creative Curriculum and thank you for sharing your planning template as well :) ! Tomorrow is the first day of school and my district has adopted the curriculum. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I have a better understanding now. However, I am still wondering how the observations/documentation will work in real time with kids.

Thank you for your videos. I'm a new Prek teacher and I appreciate everything you teach, I have learned alot from you! ❤️
Love the idea of having the kids write their name for Question of the Day!
I really like all these circle time creative suggestions to help make circle time enjoyable for the children.
How about adding pretend glasses without the lenses and whisper phones after you taught them how to use them. Retelling baskets that you have done in whole group and watch them act out the story.
Great ideas! Thanks for sharing.
I need to declutter, too. I have a really hard time getting rid of stuff. I gave a bunch of the Literacy stuffed animals away. I left teaching last year and thought I was going to slowly move away from teaching. My boss asked me to stay on 3 days a week as a sub. 😂 I ended up working 4 days a week and ended up taking over a classroom until the end of the year. School just ended today and my goal is to slowly go through things in my basement. You are motivating me.
You just couldn't get away from it! Will you be teaching again in the fall? It is such a big job to go through ALL of our teaching materials. There is so much!
@@pkpurposefulplay I plan to sub again in the fall. 🤞they hire all the available teaching, and aide positions.
I love making items for literacy (finger plays) and video the kids and sending them to parents. I love how the students numbered the shoes. I’ve used different shoe sizes in the winter for them to pretend to ice skate, along with a popcorn machine that I made out of a box and filled it with packaging peanuts.
Love that!
You did a great job of painting those peg people/animals! Great idea!
Thank you! 😊
I would love to see your favorite Spring books, clothing books, recycling books, ball books, etc… great book picks. I put a few of these on my wish list. Thanks!
I will have to start making piles of all my favorites and start recording!!
Please can anyone explain how do we stick felt pieces cloth on felt board
The pieces for the felt stories are made of felt (from the craft store) and the board is also made of a big piece of felt. felt naturally sticks to felt.
@@pkpurposefulplay but what kind of felt is it? I have felt at home, but it does not stick (I'm from germany and weirdly only see the "felt sticks to felt" agument in english)
I am moving from 13 years of teaching 3rd grade to teaching PreK this Fall . I am so excited! Will be watching your videos all summer! I graduated with a PreK - 3rd degree in 2007 been waiting for a long time for an opening in Pre - K
That is awesome! I have taught almost every grade (even 8th) and when I found PreK I knew that is where I belonged.
I love doing question of the day such a valuable tool. I use pocket cart
I really love your ideas and videos! There aren’t many play based preschool teachers that I can find on Yotube and you give me so many ideas! Thank you!
Thank you so much!! That is exactly why I started recording videos!
Such a great idea. Thank you for sharing ❤
This SO RESONATES with me. We’ve got to find a solution. In what ways are you finding, if any, that ECE teachers are organizing and joining efforts toward advocacy and unionizing?
To be honest, I mostly have seen teachers just accepting the way things are and/or giving up. It is sad. I wonder all the time what I can do!
Do you mind sharing that first paper with the boxes on it?
If you send me an email with your email address, I can send a PDF of it to you. My email is pkpurposefulplau@gmail.com
Wow 😊 glad I’ve found your video but a day late and $20 short.. ( bcuz you said you can make these pieces yourself 😊)😅but glad nonetheless
I hope you make some for yourself!
"Promosm" 🤷
Thanks for the vid. Awesome tip! Will buy me a Magic Eraser!
Thanks for sharing. Sure, would love to see more ideas. Thanks.
More to come!
Sad, but inevitable...
Srangley, I was a bit sad!
@@pkpurposefulplay I bet! Such a huge part of your life!
You did a great job on those masks. I wish I had that talent and patience.
Thank you so much! I love sewing and am happy to make things for others to enjoy.
Thank you for making these videos! I appreciate the content.
Glad you like them!
