Yesterday I recorded an improvisation on the first line of the Lord’s Prayer in Aramaic “Abwoon D'bashmayo” and a free flowing reflection on how I came to this daily practice of prayer, and perhaps why in this moment I feel compelled to offer what I have learnt to another.

Ellery! What a song! I just had to hit pause before you get into the lyrics. I want to partly echo the comment below about the fear of having the curtain lifted, but the intent almost doesn't matter to me because the delivery has this powerful uplifting thing about it. Just wanted to thank you for your music and say that this video is a real treat after listening to wu lyf and luh for so many years, and Lament is a particular favourite of mine. I just got back from a run with Lament playing in my head the whole way, feeling great 😅 "Sounds like Coldplay". What a snidey snob 😂 So restrictive. So what if it does, if it does, good is still good. He probably did the world a favour because I'm not sure if it would have been as good with WU LYF as it is with LUH. He might be a good guy who just had a bad moment. Sorry to hear about your struggles and how WU LYF took a turn but go tell fire to the mountain will stand as a classic forever to me at least regardless. Anyway, on with the video.

Thanks a lot for this. And thanks for your art. It’s hard to tell how many times my life has changed since I've first heard this song. I was happy and infant. Now I've lost my home, country, my friends and family are all around the world. I was in my 20s, now in 30s. Was just listening, now writing. And through all these years this lyrics are within me, constantly changing the meaning but always resonating. So happy to see and hear you in such an intimate atmosphere. Like i've met a good old friend. Thanks for this conversation, it means a world.

This song has meant so much to me for so long I was almost scared to listen to this. I have my own meanings behind what I think you were saying and I was afraid if you lifted the curtain on it it may change my feelings but I’m glad I did. Thank you for this song and this video.
This is a really good point, and something I was weary of going into it, songs must be kept alive in the individuals imagination. not pinned down to any specifcs, or the rare butterfly dies. this is the art of what I've been learning with mythopoetic inquiry - I have been thinking about making a video where I discuss the approach more fully. thank you x
