2024 SOVREN - Columbia River Classic
Portland International Raceway
Sunday Group 5,6, & 12a Race 4 - 20 minutes
Camera stopped recording about 1/2 way. I wasn't able to get back by Lyall but we ended up with our fast laps of the weekend working together to chase down that orange 914-6. Couple more laps, we might have had him.

Sunday July 21 Group 5 CT4 Race Started 7th overall, finished 5th, 4th in CT4 just off the podium. Broke a connecting rod racing the Pacific Northwest Historics 2 weeks ago. Huge thanks to my buddy Josh who loaned me his motor (and transaxle) so I could make this always fun and challenging race at The Ridge. October 10, 2020 EAST Server Edition Qualified OK but made too many offtrack mistakes. Tires were completely shot at the end. Fun race though. No resting at Barber. 40 minutes of full on racing action.

Season Highlights from the 2nd year of NW 944 Cup here in the Pacific Northwest. 8 drivers, 3 tracks. Lyall won the championship that year, 2nd year in a row. NW 944 Cup ran from 2008 through 2011 when things went south, and we were disappeared from all 944 Cup history nationwide. DD you suck!

Felt more confident about the brakes now after the earlier race so decided to be more aggressive from the start. Spongy brake pad was not confidence inspiring for sure. Swapped in a used set of brake pads on the left front. Pedal is still spongy but the car seemed to brake in a straight line now. After a cautious start, ended up having a great race with Martin in his white 944 and Charlie in his yellow 2002.

Replaced left front spindle, hub, brake rotor, brake caliper, and brake pads (both sides) after breaking the spindle in Portland two weeks ago. Qualifying was first opportunity to test new hardware but never got a lap as another car lost an oil line and black flagged the session. Started from the back for this race. 2023 SOVREN - Columbia River Classic Portland International Raceway Saturday Group 2/7a, Race #1 (20 minutes) Qualified 6th overall, 1st in ITS Spec 911 chose to start from the back so starting 4th. They catch up and make their way past about the 1/2 way point. I NEED MORE POWER!

8/27/2023 Sunday Race Highlights, Group 5, Class CT4. Out qualified Lyall (barely) for this race. Kept him behind at the start. Couple laps in however, Lyall's shift linkage bolt fell out. He was stuck in 3rd gear. Game over. Picked up a little luck right at the end to finish P3 in class. Ha! Tires & suspension usually outdo horsepower on a road course. Let me know if you get to drive Pacific Raceways sometime.
