i literally have a quaterly log on this tmr thaNY YOU
Welcome!
An excellent heartfelt reading. i’m sure you’ve learned about the pronouncing of Goethe. Magic Mountain by Mann would be perfect for you.
Yes I have been properly educated now about Goethe. I will add the Magic Mountain to the potential list of new audiobooks, but right now we are working on hopefully three new releases for public domain day!
@ Thank you for your wonderful work
anytime!
Did i heard rape?
My school made me read this book I had no clue what was happening it went to a different topic every sentence it was hard to understand I don’t like this book it was way to hard to get caught up if I stoped listening for a second I would not know what they’d be talking about 😔😔

err the more flaws,,,, the more human,,,,
Goethe's name is butchered throughout this narration. It is not pronounced Go-th. I cannot listen to this anymore. Please look up how to pronounce his name
This has been brought up before and it is the common American pronunciation. I am sorry you don't like it, but is it not worth fixing at this point...
Considering all the effort you put into this, the pronunciation of the name of Goethe doesn't matter. Thank you so much for recording an uploading this. I'm enjoying it immensely
Thanks and happy to do it for fans and keep an eye out for me in some upcoming tv shows and movies. I will try to let people know when they come out. Most recently Cobra Kai, but I wasn't very visible in it so I didn't really post anything about it.
@@electriccityentertainment awesome! I will. All the best 👍
@@electriccityentertainment if I could, I would make a film adaptation of Steppenwolf and you could be in it. The 1974 adaptation was good, but it would be great to do an update.

Nothing to see here folks... move along....
Read this when I was 14... always loved it!
I always play minecraft while listening to these kinds of audiobooks for school since its an easy "brain-off" kind of thing for me to do. So its a little awkward to be thinking about what color of wood to use for a wall, while there's a description of someone's corps playing in the background. This is an amazing book though, would definitely recommend getting an actual physical copy
Fun fact - play it at 2x speed and it sounds like Alvin from Alvin and the Chipmunks going over his PTSD inducing war stories from before he became a pop superstar to forget the horrible horrible memories of what he had to do to survive!
@@electriccityentertainment I gotta tell this to my classmates since like half of us are listening to this audiobook last minute for a reading test in a few days since no one can find the book or a good audiobook lol Amazing audiobook though! And I dont think I'll ever find a book that will hit me harder then this
Please do. We can normally tell when someone shares it to a class as all of the sudden like 30 views will all come in at almost the same time!
@@electriccityentertainment Very neat! And all said views are deserved, this is like the best and only good audiobook that pops up for All Quiet on the Western Front. Plus its nice to listen to a proper audiobook where it sounds like an actual person just reading the book out loud instead of someone being overly monotone for 5 hours straight. Best wishes for the future!
Thanks I really appreciate it. We had some feedback recently from another voiceover artist that said another one of our readings was dry unemotional and rushed, but I figured most people want to hear an audiobook as if someone is reading them the story... but any feedback is appreciated as we are always trying to improve. Also watch out for me on TV in the next couple months or watch our new sister channel The Italian Shot: ua-cam.com/channels/BE-mNFsPLgIxciKaGS4Omg.html
We are trying something new with adding B roll video and music because of Halloween and it being horror. Let us know if you think this is a good or a bad idea. If it is bad we can always reupload with just a still image and without music, but given this one being spooky we figured it would be more appropriate to try here. Also recently got feedback that the readings should be more emotional... what do you all think?
Shit thanks man, I got an exam for this book. Just like the top comment, I procrastinated until the last second, and I'm staying up all night, listening to this. Thank you so much.
Welcome and you may want to increase the playback speed if you are in a time crunch. Thanks for listening!

This is a good book
Thank you for reading this. I had just finished reading the paperback. I'm going to listen to this and then watch the movie version with Richard Thomas. Blessings to you. My husband served in Viet Nam. Our son, army, airborne, 2007...sniper...

Bad narrator
Can you be more specific?
@@electriccityentertainment this is not the way the narrator speaks to humans and it sounds forced and phoney

Thanks I tried to harness my experience from meeting him
Oh thank you! This is the book ive been looking for - i NEEDED it, without even knowing this was it! Im kinda have a crisis of meaning...
This book is great proof that that is more common that most people think!
@@electriccityentertainmentthank you for posting it, friend. 😀

You are my favorite person
Always happy to help!
Not sure if it was 1914 or 1915 Christmas eve but British troop saw little christmas trees set up along the German lines then heard the German troops singing carols and the Brits joined in, eventually a few German troops stood up and approached across no mans land with little good will gifts such as, cigarettes, schnaps, food items they had received from their folks back in Germany. The British immediately returned the good will gesture and before long they were exchanging addresses showing pictures of their loved ones, etc. The event took place at various spot along the line where there was no officers. Different accounts of this event have been told, but on all accounts the higher up officers were none to pleased and forbid this to happen again on the threat of death to their own troops. Imagin had this caught on until every soldier told their upper ranks to go F themselves and fight this nonsense war yourself. Imagin the message that would have gone down in history, The night soldiers decided war was a freaking racket and we are no longer going to die for your profit ! Maybe some day troops will have courage to force the end to war and those that benefit will be left to play with themselves
Read this a couple times. Puts a human face on the side that normally gets propagandised as demons.
It's good to see things from both sides to get an accurate view of history and not just from the victors...
saving my life for college classes rn appreciate it 😂😂

I agree. The narrator did s good job.
For mad men only.
I think a better English Translation would have been "The Lone Wolf"
"The Wolf and the Willows"
@@electriccityentertainment I laughed and then thought about it. Toad and Harry are not that different
It weirdly works!
Does anyone have time marks for each chapter
They are in the description.

Welcome and glad to help. If there is anything else you want us to create let us know and thanks for watching our video!
Wow, I have never related to a character so much before.
I feel like that is why this is such a classic. That everyone feels like they can't relate, but ironically it is a universal feeling that most people have.
