@JustbereelFlorida What speed did you use when applying the wax? Super helpful video! Thank you so much!
Nice… I’m gonna give it a try… Thanks for making the video…
Thanks for watching
What's the square amount that you could do buffing
Not sure what you mean by square amount?
great video
I have a 2018 bluewave, it has the raised silver metal decals . How do you compound in the areas between the letters
Not sure, my decals are a rubber so I just go over them. A friend of mine does boat detailing and he removes the decals on the boats
Hey brother, I detail professionally. There’s two options depending on the decals: 1. You can remove the decals, it’s more tedious, time consuming, and potentially a risk if you don’t know what you’re doing 2. They make mini polishers, look up mini SPTA or mini rupes.
Great video, thanks for taking the time to make it. Can this process be used on raised surfaces like molded in non skid?
I’ve seen where you can do non skid. But they use some type of brush head to help get product down in between the raise decking
Thanks for the reply, I'll look into that.
Will the 7in foam polishing pads from harbor freight work just as well or you really suggest the 3m?
I’ve never tried the foam so I’m not sure how well they work
Great job! Meguiars products work so well
I’ve been happy with them
Thanks for showing this. What speed for the wax?
I go same as polish maybe a tad faster
Great explanation. Super useful.
Sorry dude...I have used this on my lightly oxidation gel coat, it didn't even make summer, and yes I used an orbital buffer..in my opinion there is alot better!!
What products would you say work better? I’ve always had luck with the McGuires.
Can’t wait to see your demo of the better products ! One thing I do know is Maguires is typically 60% less $$$ than the “better products” but it gives results that a equal or do close you’d need a gloss meter to tell the difference
Should there be any waiting to wipe off any material applied? I feel like In other videos I have seen they usually wait
I wait 5 min on the wax portion
Do you still do only shoulder width, start to finish when doing the whole boat. Or compound whole boat, then polish, then wax.
You can do it either way. I normally compound one whole side, then polish then wax and then move to the other side and repeat. But my boat isn’t very large.
Great Job, well explained.
Thanks
This is the best video I have watched so far on how to polish my boat! Thanks
Good luck! Have fun out on the water these season.
This should have over a million views
I appreciate it. Hope it helps. I’m sure there are better ways of doing this. But it’s what works for me and keeps the boat looking good 👍🏼
Can I have sun hit it after 15 minutes of finishing?
After all the steps are done I move the umbrella to my next spot. It’s similar to don’t wax a car in direct heat of the sun. The bottle of the product should give you temperature recommendations for applying
How often do you polish and wax?
I try once every 6 months, depending on how much use the boat is getting and how much I’m washing it
Turn music off, what does it serve on instruction video
Just a fan of the guys music he makes and I use it in my fishing videos. Sorry you didn’t enjoy it
If you use a quality sealant or better yet a ceramic coating, you’d never have an oxidation problem after the first compound and polish.
I do need to try the ceramic coating
Good video.
Awesome video, thank you!
The best way to apply your product is with a sponge.
I’ll have to try it
Do you use the same pad for waxing you do as polish? Or new pad?
New separate pad
thank you man, will a 9 inch 3m yellow pad work on my 7 inch makita?@@Justbereelflorida
It might. I’d have to see it in person, but I would think it should
I’d try a foam finishing pad, takes out the scratches from buffing/polishing trails you leave from wool. That reflection will 100x
I’ll have to give it a try
Promise you brotha 🤝 3ms purple foam pad is cheap and I get 2-3 boats per pad
Great video. What are your recommendations when you’re going over decals?
If your decals are not real metal then the compound will basically (sand them down). I just go over mine but a detail buddy of mine pulls them off of boats and doesn’t reapply them. Hope that helps
@@Justbereelfloridavery helpful thanks man!
You didn’t say what rpm wax speed should be😮!
I didn’t even realize I didn’t say that. I normally do same as polish or a little faster speed.
Great video, just use the handle, that's what it foe, lol, great job, helped alot..
Ive actually took off the handle. I have better control without it. Thanks for watching and commenting. Hope your boat shines new
Great video. Simple, easy to understand. Thanks
Hope it helps
What product do you guys use on the interior?
I use the same products on all smooth gel coat
I'm new here I like your easy step by step video my wife showed me the video after purchasing the products that you are using. My question is can I buff the boat and polish later. I mean I want to oxidize my boat first and then continue to polish and wax later Tell me your thoughts
Yes buff first then polish and then wax. I like to do 1 side at a time and go through all 3 steps. Before moving on. Just how I like to do it, to remember where I left off.
Love this video! I've not waxed my boat yet. Still new (to us) does that wax hold up in salt water? Also, do you do the inside of the boat? Floor? Walls? Thanks.
Once you return the shine, I wax all of the smooth fiberglass surfaces. The wax will hold up for 3-6 months ive heard. But you need to buy a boat soap that wont remove the wax layer. Don’t use dish soap, buy a good boat soap.
@@Justbereelflorida awesome. Thanks!
Man….thank you that is a great breakdown of how, to get the best result 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Hope it helps. Thanks for watching.
I'm not sure who told you that you cant clean and reuse the pads, because you absolutely can, I use Chemical Guys pad cleaner on mine, and they come out great
I do clean and reuse them.
You’re 100% right John, however, one thing I would recommend is only using the same product with that particular pad. You can reuse as much as possible, but you will never get the product out of it even if you clean it. Even with the special pad, cleaning tools.
Which pads did you use for the wax? Same as polish?
Yes same pad. I have two. 1 for polish and 1 for wax
What level of oxidation requires wet sanding? Can you get any level of oxidation out with buffing?
I’ve never had a boat oxidized enough for wet sanding. But I’m sure professional detailers encounter them often. I just do my own boat and never had to wet sand
Funny how it says constant speed on the polisher box my harbor freight Chicago brand sucks and maintaining speed
I’ve had good luck with mine. It’s not the best of the best but it does get the job done.
Great video. I use a foam pad for polishing the scratches the wool pads leave behind and to add protection
I’ll have to try it out.
You found the foam pads worked fine to polish and wax?
@matthew0852 I haven’t used foam pads. So I’m not sure how they work
@@matthew0852have you found it ?
Great video overall, easy to follow. Nice job.
Thank you for the compliment.
how did you attached the wool pad to the polisher?.. hook n loop ?
I use the Velcro pads.
Thanks very helpful
Glad it helped
Great video, curious what speed you did the wax at and did you use a new pad or the same one as you polished with?
Used a new pad for the wax stage. I wax around 2500/3k speed. Just above what the polish speed is
I use the same 3m pads for polish and wax. I buy 2 and use 1 for polish step and 1 for wax. You could prob use a microfiber pad for wax stage if you wanted.
Thanks for calling out the rotation speeds. Super helpful
It makes all the difference at the right speeds. The person I learned from is who told me those speeds and it’s always work well for me
Would be awesome if or when you do can do a video on detailing the hull. I have a jet ski and dang, .....
Sure thing, great idea
Great video.
Glad you enjoyed it
The only way to go 👍
That’s right
That’s cool! Looks fun. Mahi are tasty
Such a tasty fish
Was a fun day. We need to go again soon
Yes we do
So sick
You should let it go to make more trigger fish! 😒😩
We caught about 60 before we got 1 keeper. They are over populated here. Regulations only allow You to keep 1 per person. My wife and I had him for dinner that night.
