Hi. Is the Protimeter Mini suitable to take accurate readings of the moisture content within masonry/render?

Still, one year after I bought the BLE, the app doesn't work. And the data I have been able to download, with a lot of trial and error, cannot be used since date and time is wrong. I have used the date update function the app, but all data are still dated 2016...! Several contacts with the supplier (via dealer) has not improved anything either. Don't buy! I will return my unit and demand a refund for the money. Sadly I have lost the opportunity to collect important data.

Would you be able to take a measure report with it and print it out ?

Running through the screens and being in the correct mode should be a part of this along with checking and establishing a baseline, making sure you are calibrating etc This tool and pieces are so expensive how about being thorough

Hello. I looked in my manual and on the internet to see what that small flap or door is under the accessory plug in, but I could not find any information. Could you kindly tell me what it's function is and if it opens & how. Thank you very much.

What do the numbers mean? most meters provide a percentage of moisture

I have the MMS2 and what’s stopping me getting the MMS3 is having the “No condensation” “Risk of condensation” and “Wet” now removed and instead a full screen of Green, Yellow and Red. The words always worked better with the customer than the colours. When they see “No condensation” it’s harder for them to argue it. Any ideas why you have opted to remove that feature?

There is nothing better for detecting damp than your eyes and your nose. A moisture meter is a very basic tool and nothing more. When they invent one that is not fooled my metallic materials and hydroscopic salts the proper building surveyors will be queueing up for them. I once worked alongside an idiot in Canada - called a Home Inspector - who ran around the outside of a house using his meter on the walls! This was in BC which is a wet province that rains a lot. Was was he expecting!!! The people who get the most out of damp meters are so-called Damp Prevention companies who use the readings to terrify building owners and get them to pay for useless damp-proofing. To them it's a moneymaking tool extraordinaire!

Your website lists accesories for this BLD5365 model, but the baseboard probes are not listed there. Are you saying this model can infact accept the BLD5025 baseboard probes?

The battery change alone is a winner, 9 volt batteries did not last long. thanks for the update video.

Chris thank you for being involved in making these amazing damp meters i purchased the mms2 when it first came out and i will be upgrading to the new mms3 i have so much confidence when i conduct a survey when I'm using the protimeter and i often tell my customer that they are the best damp meters on the market thank you

Nice video Nigel, floor layers do not in many instances understand the implications of not correctly measuring and recording moisture content of floor slabs prior to laying coverings. I do expert witness work, and residual moisture is usually what trips the floor layer up, please Mr floor layer measure and record or you could end up with a bill you really don't want and it can be a very big one ! Beware of anhydrite screeds, get these wrong and the costs are even worse.

I'm skecptical about reading tile with non-penetrating readings...I was trained to drill holes in the grout lines...Also how accurate is the meter reading through the tile? + or - They make special meters to read and detect wet concrete...Thanks!

Hi this is a very useful vid, but do you have any suggestions on software I can use as the one available via google is not very good as I cannot install it I have tried on two windows based systems and each time it says I do not have enough room on my computer I have printed off the 9 page help file and I still can not get all of the files installed, when I do manage to get part of the software installed I find that when the unit is installed I get popup windows stating that the application can not find the unit and yet the green tick is showing, then when I click ok to get rid of the box the software shows that it once again can not see the unit? thanks for your help in advance.

Brilliant video - very clear. I'd like to see more of these. In the video you mention this procedure is in line with the ASTM standard - could you confirm which standard that is exactly? Also, what are the other standards that could be considered for this test?

I want to see the calibration check. Why is the Protimeter calibration at 75% and other reusable systems have calibration at 60% (Wagner Meters) or ***** has 1 or 3 75% salt solutions. Do the Hygrosticks not have to be kept in a calibrated environment? I have an old Protimeter I got at surfaces (Pre 2170-11) and found that the accuracy of the probes is so important. The +/- % matters a lot as does their calibration. I have had 3 or 4 jobs in the last few years where old equipment gave false low readings on RH.
