    It'd be interesting to see you play out the game till the end imo. "Fully drawn" endgames by Stockfish are usually hard to spot for a human, and can very easily swing into "fully winning" for someone who didn't make 1 wrong pawn move

  • @AhimtarHoN
    @AhimtarHoN 15 годин тому

    41:19 the bishop there would also defend the e5 square, meaning you can push the f pawn 2 squares if you want, I think. Then you lost the opportunity when their king got close

    39:00 you did not miss the full line, you just missed you can use your bad-placed bishop to defend the d pawn instead of having a rook sit there :D

    i’m just going to say this in case it’s useful to you - it might not be if you want to use this series and whatever attention it will bring in to grow your channel (basically if channel growth is something you want), it would be a really great idea i think if you made a few full, normal videos as you climb so viewers basically see you as worth the subscription; if you upload daily and someone has viewed a few of these videos already, they’ll keep getting these recommended and therefore probably won’t feel a need to subscribe, but if you have standard videos as well a viewer would be more likely to treat you as a “youtuber” and want to subscribe so as not to miss those standard, non-daily videos just a thought

    I feel like every game you are trying to save time by doing some quick moves to save 2 seconds, but then spend a minute calculating some complicated alternate option tactic in hopes of getting a very slightly better position or something. I think you should practice recognizing when it's better to just go with the "good enough" option

  • @gahv1372
    @gahv1372 2 дні тому

    As an 1800, I can say you're paying way too much attention to openings and single pawns. As you can see in this and many other examples, games are more often decided by tactical mistakes than pawn structures from the opening. That's why, in my opinion, it's more profitable to play more agressively, put pressure on your opponent, try to make them uncomfortable, in order to induce those mistakes, instead of just defending a pawn or wondering how to get it back. Also, it's important to have simple openings that you're comfortable with, so that you limit the time spent and mistakes on your side. Trying to learn the cutting-edge stuff that grandmasters play, with hundreds of variations, makes it unnecessarily difficult, and you quickly end up not knowing what to do next anyway. I personally play various gambits to quickly get in the aggressive positions. I think it's more fun, and some quick wins with basic traps are a bonus. But of course, for that to work, you also need to improve your calculation and board vision, as you noticed yourself.

    If u don't learn to manage ur time, 1800 is a mirage. It takes a lot of games to build intuition and be able to properly evaluate every position in seconds, and that's key. U need ur time for the critical ones. One game a day just won't cut it. Also, it's just a game, maybe try less emotional involvement ;)

    • @phambuchess
      @phambuchess 8 днів тому

      I totally get your point, and you're right. However, I don't think I have time to play more than one rapid, but I do play quite a few blitz games offline, though of course that is totally different

    • @rojavida
      @rojavida 7 днів тому

      @@phambuchessI’m not sure blitz is going to help you improve. It might even be the reason you are making errors at longer time controls. Worth thinking about anyway. I can only imagine how difficult it is to play well whilst commenting on the game, so I’m definitely not talking from a sense of superiority. Blitz is a fun way to try out new lines you’ve been studying or at least some sharper openings, and they can be a good way to sharpen evaluation skills, but too much gets you in the habit of making snap decisions when the position calls for more considered thought. That’s my tuppence anyhow. Good luck.

    I've been following since I caught your game on the Chess Vibes channel. I think you must have some talent for content, as small, raw channels like these typically don't hold my attention. To your question though, I think you (and your general popularity?) would benefit from just a smidge of editing. I really enjoy the out-loud contemplation and hearing the thought process... in fact, it's probably 95% of what's kept my attention, but that said once you finish the thought process and there's just waiting time without much more to say, I start getting impatient and skipping through or playing double speed. So my two cents is: definitely leave all the commentary, but skip the dead air and filler time. Good luck and thanks!

    It must be really hard to commentate and think at the same time. However you spent 2 or 3 minutes telling us you were winning while your opponent was busy calculating. When he finally moved you took 5 seconds to tell us it was bad. You never actually calculated anything meaningful till the position was lost. You're making great progress, but sometimes your attitude is a little complacent/arrogant. Humility will get you where you want to go.

    First time watching. I thought your opening knowledge was very good here. Games at this level are rarely decided by the opening however, unless there is an opening trap played. Your opponent’s standard was suspiciously good though, especially their endgame play. b5, for example, I don’t know if it was the best move, but it was suspiciously strong, killing any c4 ideas. You had a lovely bind on his K-side pawns and it is absolutely the right idea to bring f and g pawns up to challenge when you did. f6 should have been expected though as it was a move I would have considered as black. Good luck in your new channel, I enjoyed this.
