Goofing off at the track in 2009 after not runnng hurdles for 5 years.
Just had the cable on my 05 melt through. Watched your video, bought an OEM cable and it went in easy. I appreciate your video. Saved me money at the mechanic.
Anyone know the part number ?
5L3Z7E395AA
Whats the part number for that exact cable?
Need to know where the o2censsor cable came from
Mine a stick
Damn bro you made that look easy. Just had this problem happen to me an hour ago and found this.Definitely about to try to change myself😅 Thanks
Big thanks bro! Live saver
I just put a new one on my 2015, now today same thing happened again I think it was because I might not have routed the cable the correct way but still, the old one the cable was bound up on the inside of the protective sheath but this time the cable just completely pulled out of it like the steering column piston side just unraveled
Thanks for the video!
Great video ty!!
I know this video is old but you saved me. I'd flip u fifty dollar bill without hesitation. Your a good dude
Yes thank you so much for this video it was so helpful. My problem right now is my back is messed up so im hoping my mechanic neighbor will come and help me. And thanks again for the great video.
Good video. Looks simple I wish my back wasn't out.
Nice
It would be nice if everyone who puts how to videos could explain shit like this. Right beside ode Copenhagen baby!
I knew as soon as I heard the accent I was in the right place.
my mechanic said my metal bracket was bent and cant put the cable in until i get a new one
Going to work on mine tomorrow. Nice instructions.
If you unplug the o2 sensor and push the female end of that harness off of the metal bracket that holds the shift cable underneath the truck and remove that bracket its two 10mm bolts then that whole bracket comes with and it is way easier dealing with that stubborn clip when the cable is out of the truck. Especially if you live down gravel roads and deal with salt and grime from the winter i find this to be a much easier way.
Good evening and many thanks cause you saved us alot of money
Damnd can't hear anything but the clanking of the screwdriver
Great video. If you can't get the the tab to lift with your finger there is a through hole that a punch will push the tab through and it releases easily . I spent $100 for the cable at auto zone and did it easily .
You are a legend, thank you so much for this video!
exelente explicación hermano muchas gracias
I have exactly the same issue. I was towing my travel trailer, pulled into a rest area. Came back to my truck and it would not start at all. I eventually found out that the exhaust had burned through the "so called" heat shroud around the cable exposing the inner wire cable. So when you tried to engage a gear it couldn't select because it came out of the outer cable shroud. As of 30mins ago I just ordered a new shift cable. Thank you for doing your "how to video", it's helped me a lot 💯👍.
How did you no it was your cable before taking it off
The truck wouldn’t go into park. So I left it in neutral, blocked the tires, crawled under the truck and saw my shift cable frayed like a broken rope.
Okay thanks yea mine wouldn't go into park unless u slammed it but then it wouldn't wouldn't into park at and now it goes into drive and reverse if u play with it enough it's real loose like u can slide threw the gears with ease

Thanks bro
Man thank you, you made this very simple😳😳😳😳!
This video was extremely helpful with the explanation of the clip under the stirring wheel
Where do you find it so cheap? It’s $100 plus tax here!
The muffler does it.
Appreciate Sir
Great job - Mine came off the cable guide underneath the truck and was laying on the exhaust. It melted the casing and stretched the cable - looks like the same happened to you!
Exact same happen to me on 10th. I was on a hill and luckily was able to put it in drive get off the parallel parking and drive it home.
10:00 "everything was real simple" while sporting a busted knuckle gave me a good chuckle but good video though, thanks
Dear friend...I have to hand it to you bro .You got about two words right in the terminology dept so I'm 100% positive your NO automotive genius...using words like thing and Bar But hey you pulled it off so I'm gonna give you some props...
Thanks
Terrible video can not seeanything. Use a camera not your cheap phone
You are literally the ONLY person who said anything remotely close to this. You might be the problem.

THANK YOU!!! You saved me from a frustrating day! I couldn't get that shift cable off the steering column but your lift the tab with the finger was the game changer...thanks!
